[AU-008] Front Crosses – Where, When and How

A front cross is not just a turning cue. It is a series of well executed handling plans. Yes – a series! In this seminar, Diane will break down the components of the front cross and will explain in depth where, when, and how to use a front-cross in a sequence. By the end of this course, you will understand the front cross completely and will be able to do them easily and effectively! Diane will also go over when to swap the front cross with a blind cross or rear cross. This course is for anyone who wants to tighten up turns, gain confidence in executing a front-cross, or expand their understanding of how a front-cross can help their dog flow through the course.

Do you ever rotate out of a front-cross late? Does your dog know where to go after you front-cross? Have your feet gotten stuck in the turn? Do you agonize over every front-cross and search desperately for a way to do a rear cross? Is your front-cross aiding your dog or slowing him down? A well executed front crosses can eliminate off-courses and keep your dog moving on a clean, straight line. A well placed front can also motivate your dog to keep moving through a technical sequence and can make agility a fun game for both dog and handler. In this seminar, Diane will go in-depth on how to do a front-cross. The material breaks down the front-cross into component pieces and Diane shows you how to use each piece on a variety of sequences. In this course, you will also learn how to determine when you should be using a front-cross versus a blind cross or rear cross. There are plenty of simple exercises that can be done in a small space or during a class and exercises to do without the dog so you can learn how to apply the components of a front-cross, even if your training time or space is limited.
