The same Belkin charger works normally with one device but acts differently with another. Both devices charge fine in other setups, which is why I’m unsure whether the issue is compatibility, the cable, or the adapter itself. Rather than replacing everything, I want to narrow it down first. Would the model numbers of both devices be enough, or is the charging behavior itself more useful to explain? Both tests used the same wall outlet.

When one charger works with one device but behaves differently with another, the support page https://belkin.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html is a useful place to start because the device pair itself is the most informative part of the story. I’d write down both model numbers, the charger model, cable type, and whether each device charges normally on other equipment. Using the same wall outlet is also helpful because it removes one variable. I’ve had small accessory issues where a compatibility detail explained more than replacing parts at random. A short description of what each device does when connected should give support enough context to narrow the possibilities.

Compatibility is the key clue here. If the same charger behaves differently across two devices while both work elsewhere, that narrows the problem down much faster. Writing down both model numbers, cable type, and using the same outlet is a simple way to remove a lot of guesswork.
