I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve scraped my alloys against a curb, and the last one was bad enough that I’m considering getting them refinished. But before I spend money fixing them, I want to know if rim protection is actually worth doing or if it’s just another thing to pay for that doesn’t really help. I’m near ICAD so I’ve been looking into Quick alloy rim protection in ICAD, but I’m not sure whether it actually prevents curb damage or just makes it less noticeable when it happens. Has anyone had it done and found it genuinely saved their rims? Also, does it need reapplying every so often, because that’s another cost to factor in if so.
