ParticipantHappy Monday!
Sorry for the dark videos, work had me late today. Can’t wait for the time change! 🙂
I was super proud of her, she got the game really fast, especially the Threadles. She loooves her Treat & Train.
Let us know what you think

ParticipantHi Tracy,
We worked on using the toy for the barrels. Ingy didn’t understand at first that the toy wasn’t for her all the time; however, once I had someone help me hold and release her (so she couldn’t get the toy), she understood she had to do the wraps for the rewards! She built up some good speed.
Thanks for the break week – perfect timing between the craziness at work and missing one game last week.
I am loving this course and all the feedback – appreciate all you do! 🙂

ParticipantTGIF!
We worked on backing up, get outs, and rocking horses. I was SO impressed with her on the rocking horse exercise. She was a rockstar! I found having that “Hallmark moment” really helped the connection and encouraged her to follow my cues. Felt like an aha moment for both of us!I think backing up and get outs also went well…minus when she tries to run off with my props!

ParticipantThanks for all the tips! We will train when we are back from our show.
Ingy ran two perfect Fetch trials for her Intermediate title! Woohoo! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QRgn-y157eswflM01RbJ9Q-6aCIyukUz/view?usp=drivesdk

ParticipantHappy Saturday!
Parallel path games went a lot better following your advice…thank you! You can even see where she made the decision to go through rather than stick to me at 1:33. I was proud!
We had some extra distractions again today with blow dryers going as my friend and training buddy is getting dogs ready for tomorrow’s show, but Ingy did a good job blocking it out for the most part.
Contacts went well (I think!). I moved in and out a little to make it easier/harder, but I think after Ingy sleeps on it, she’ll get it!

ParticipantHi Tracy,
Thanks! Yes, target practice…great for desensitizing but I can see how they’d be a distraction, even if she is not afraid.
Moving my hand out of my pocket & the treat into the other hand makes a lot of sense! I will give this another go with those tips; thanks for the pointers. I am excited to take on the back half of the games this week alongside more reps of parallel path 🙂

ParticipantHappy week 5!
We had a short recording session before we lost the light. I know you cautioned against tennis balls and I swear I read it; however, we are actually going to a show on Sunday to test for our Fetch Intermediate title (which is why you’ll hear me say “one finger” when I hold her collar…those are the rules for holds). Other than she lost the ball in the bushes, I think she did well! I enjoyed watching her use skills to think through to persevere and find the ball, even when it went missing.
Parallel Path transfer concepts went okay; she wanted to be very close to me (because I had the cookies!). She seemed to do better when I was able to point on the line versus letting her walk herself. This clip is a little longer as you see her (and me) try to figure out the best steps. Any thoughts on this? Should I be pointing (I assume I could be doing that in agility but also she needs to learn to go on the straight line if she is ahead of me).
Appreciate any thoughts you have!

ParticipantHi Tracy,
Hope you are having a great weekend!Today we did tunnel games & handling combos; we had a ton of fun!
Ingy loves the tunnels when we have practiced them before this course and was very excited to see her favorite robot, the Treat & Train, back out! She loved it so much she ran back up the tunnel to me after getting her reward…oops!
I may be her favorite distraction, as you can see at 1:06 when she decides to stare lovingly into my eyes instead of looking at the tunnel LOL
She did well on the angles too when we were close. We will work on backing up another day once this first round sinks in!
Handling combos went well I think! She is definitely the righty so the left took a bit of work but we got there. I’m using Wing for when she enters off the left side (so a right turn for her) and Wrap for when she enters off the right side (so a left turn for her). What do you think of these?

ParticipantHi Tracy,
Happy Week 4!
I think this week went really well. To be honest, I saw sits and panicked because Ingy is so high energy. You can see that this week was also some training for me as I had to work on remembering which way to turn her, how to place my feet for poses, and remember to click the clicker!Ingy’s definitely a righty like me because we both had some issues with left hand/side exercises.
Overall, this was a very fun training session!

ParticipantHi Tracy,
Hello from below freezing Gainesville, FL (a weird sentence to write). Hope you are staying warm!
Thanks for the pointers! Unfilmed, Wing wraps went much better as I removed the toy from above her head and instead focused on clear sight lines! I think I just confused her with the toy and the pointing.
We really enjoyed the prop games and I think they went well. She loves that Croc and was very excited! She likes to pounce on it when we do parallel path…is this okay or should I be doing something to mitigate that?
My favorite (and it seemed like hers) was the Collection Sandwich. It really felt like putting it all together! The only bit of trouble we had with the “Go” addition (after filming) was that the rocks/acorns on the ground look like cookies, so she would go but then sniff. Is this just the terrain or something I should work through more?
Enjoy her close up at 03:52 and let me know what you think!
PS: yes my pants do have Ingy’s face on them!

ParticipantHappy Week 3, Tracy!
Here are just two games; I’ve managed to now catch the flu…swear I’m not usually this ill, but January in a college town proves rough some years!
I debated not posting this as I definitely do not think it was our most productive session, but then I remembered just getting feedback helps!
Ingy was excited to go outside and play after being cooped up inside for most of the week with me but that excitement may have been to the detriment of the games, especially turn and burn. She is soooo excited she tries to go right after the toy instead of following my direction around the barrel, how should I handle this in the future? Off camera, I tried sending with treats in my hand and that worked much better as it was less visually stimulating for her.
I think our backing up game went well. Let me know what you think!

ParticipantHi Tracy,
Here is the back half of week 2.
She did a lot better with the wing wrap motion between the bowls. We added in the upright and I ended up standing (the knees on the concrete were killer). I think I could have done better getting the cookies in the bowl. How is this looking?
Goat tricks 2&3 went well! We widen the playing field with another fit bone for #2.
Then for Goat tricks #3,the dog walk was not off the ground right now (because I couldn’t figure out how to raise it…it’s a friend’s) but I think she did the turns well once I stopped trying to lure her and naturally moved to the other side. Ingy seems to have no problem getting onto things and she is now finding her balance in the turning!
Please let me know how you think this all went. Thanks!
PS: I didn’t record but I tried to cheat in Toy Races. She still beat me every time! Definitely one of her favorite games right now

ParticipantHi Tracy,
Thanks for this!
It is good to know she is a righty! I’ve noticed that in some other exercises we have done. Makes sense…I am also useless with my left side 🙂
We are giving the wing wrap bowls another session tonight, so hopefully a bit of latent learning helps
I will definitely try to cheat and beat her…but I do not think I stand a chance.
I have a second fit bone I will add to widen her playing field a bit for another round of Goat Trick 2 as well as picking it up for Goat Tricks #3.

ParticipantHi Tracy,
We are excited for week 2!
I’m sorry to not have done Wing Wrap Foundations last week…a stomach bug took me out. But, I made sure to do it first thing this week so we can a) let the latent learning kick in before advanced level b) make sure we get the advanced level down before we kick it up a notch later this week with the next steps!
Today’s session went very well, in my opinion. Ingy was very focused and really seemed to enjoy.
I stuck the Collar Grab Fun into both the Stealth Games & Toy Games. She is very used to having her collar held from CAT/FastCAT/Fetch Dog, so she was already very comfortable with it!
The only thing we seemed to have a bit of trouble with was these Wing Wrap Foundations. She could smell the cookies in my pocket and was more interested in pestering me than going after the cookie in the bowl. Any tips you have to mitigate this? Should I try standing?
Pardon the yapping dogs in the back of some of the videos, my neighbors have these little guys that terrorize the neighborhood…LOUDLY.
Let me know what you think from these clips!
Ally Fleischer
ParticipantHi Tracy,
Thanks for all the great advice and my apologies for the delay in response. Nothing like a short stomach bug to knock me out for a few days!
I definitely need a head start but I’ve recruited my friend to help me hold her. Blind crosses are going MUCH better now that I have a bit more breathing room! She is being an excellent goat and I’ve added two more upside down cat litter trays to give her a bigger space.
Thanks for all of your advice!
