The tug breaks that I did do are mostly edited out of my videos but I definitely should do more often tug breaks. The outdoor videos were long– but I did rotate working Tchoup and Roulez after Audubon,as well as incorporating several recesses where they all had free time to sniff and play.

I can definitely move indoors to take out the grass and acorn distraction.

“probably needs a longer, flyball style tug for now rather than a shorter calmer agility-style tug”.- I have just the toy, actually several, that should work. Kibble is the lowest value and I can stick with it as we build his tug drive.

Ooh, didn’t think about me fussing at Roulez confusing Audie. Do you think when we are outdoors that I should leave Roulez indoors or that crating her further away would be ok?

“for this and for the prop game after it, be sure to clear the environment of anything else that might be a cue…” – Gotcha!!

On another subject, I tried to sign up for several sessions of the seminar this weekend. I knew I couldn’t “audit” live but wanted to be able to access the recordings. Would it be possible to purchase them post seminar?

    Best,
    Carrie

ok. did a little bit of dis and a little bit of dat. I have found that string cheese > tugging and tugging > kibble. i.e., he wil tug easily after kibble. Not as successful, have to work harder after cheese.

    Shaped a new prop,.again ( LOL).It’s flat, won’t slide and I think it’s large enough.

Worked wing wraps and added a stanchion.

Need to find a different treat or a different place to work Blind cross foundation. My yard is LOADED with acorns right now. I was using pieces of white string cheese– if he found the cheese, he would get distracted by the acorns

We had so much fun in the live class! I had worked the target in the hand the day or so before the live class but just got around to editing.

This afternoon, we worked wing wrap and blind cross foundations. It was drizzling out so I tried the blind cross inside, but I really didnt have enough room.

I also decided to change to a smaller prop so worked on shaping the new one.

It’s long but a compilation of start lines this past weekend. I tried some to not lure her into position. Most of the time I ended up luring since we ended up in a standoff with her barking at me. BUT, overall ,improvement!

I had trouble getting her to stay behind me to line up between my legs.
Weaving thru legs is a trick she likes..and offered

As the Saturday wore on, the behavior fell apart. Not surprising given the reinforcement history. The barking and dancing increased without her offering or performing a lineup. So Sunday, I went back to letting her settle and leave. Question. She is moving from a sit to a down when she was lining up and then into a play bow as I moved away. Thoughts? Should I change to asking for a down instead?

    and our work this morning:

I guess you are right. It wasn’t as smooth as I wanted but your observations has me looking at it differently. We are showing the next 2 weekends (trying to get a few shows in before she comes in season and is bred.) I WILL bring our instant focus object next time. There is only one class I can FEO next weekend and will make the most of it.

If I’m asking her to line up and she stares and barks at me, how would you handle that? Say in a FEO run??
Since my lineup is a work in progress, for “real” runs, should I stick to my present lineup or ask for my new one?

We did a little work on Cookie free game and Pattern games with toys
