ParticipantYou are correct! Need to see if I have enough room to set this piece of the course up at home and run it with your suggestions in mind.,…..once her pads heal up.
I was hoping I could do a little work on grass today…. her pad is still peeling. Her back is drying up but it looks horrendous!!! The hair has fallen out. Researching if I can find coat extensions for her🤣

ParticipantI am so sorry I missed the chat last night. Ended up taking Roulez to emergency vet after I got home from work last night. Had a reaction to either flea or other bug bites– in 2 days her back went from clear but itchy to horribly infected.
I watched the chat recording this afternoon. The jump after the aframe was more offset to the wall than in the map. I babysat the first backside too long. But I did think later that a threadle wrap might have been a better choice.
Her pad hasn’t healed yet.,, so we are taking it easy

ParticipantAnother dog also burned his pads. We were at a seminar outdoors on grass. It was in the 80’s and on short grass in Florida.
My initial thought was also not to show this coming weekend. The burned pad looks better but the other one has a cut.
Trying to let it go because there is nothing I can do and at least we have 3 weeks before NAC.

Participant😭😭😭😭😭 She cut a pad on one rear paw and excoriated the other rear pad this weekend. So no working for us for a bit. Purchasing some EMT gel this am and resting her.
Trying not to freak because this coming weekend is our last show before NAC😬

ParticipantYES!!!! Yeah, I’m not pulling her up, I’m hanging on for dear life.🤣 Jk. Sort of. She is jumping up as we prepare to start.
Reviewed my video and see the inconsistency of timing and the difference it makes in her execution.
I have started using softer, repeated cue for wraps and single down out verbal for soft turns. Typically have used a loud repeated verbal for GO! Backsides and threadles- repeated cue at moderate level voice.
I’m not used to using go on a single jump when I will follow it with a turn. Thoughts? Do you think it would be helpful to have bigger spacing for this setup?

ParticipantI feel so behind!!! Trying to do small amounts of several of the things to get feedback before moving on.
Definitely need to work slower on the backside wraps– or move the jump further away?
sent video and map from course I mentioned.

ParticipantHey Tracy!!
I wish I had thought to submit a trial video from last weekend. It was a Premier Standard course that I definitely needed independent verbals. A few different handling decisions might have helped but I think I would have still been behind.
Today I worked the first steps of Serp, backside slice and Backside wrap. I really struggled with releasing with command instead of “break” . Also not saying “YES!!!”

ParticipantBad student alert!!! I had limited time so skimmed instructions and went to work. I tried slow. She didn’t 🙄🤣 I wasn’t even going to submit after I watched the video. But Jamie made me!!

Participantwell dawg!! somehow my video didn’t get posted yesterday.

ParticipantOh cool!!!!

ParticipantHe has such an UNCANNY sense of where to move himself for optimal distractability!!! right on her line. He can be across the yard, I turn to start the sequence and there He is!
Will try for a smoother transition in motion speed.
Thanks!

ParticipantUmm, guess I need to invest in a treat hugger or lotus ball. I MacGyver’d it successfully, though😁
We had a very short session – it started raining
