Worked on the Jumpers pop out sequences. Halfway through, I felt like the spacing was wrong of the set up.

^^^^^THIS! This is why, even though the heat and rain make it difficult to keep up with a summer agility camp, I enrolled.

    >>>>y you!โ€ cue, which is reactive handling. You can see it happen in your stand<<<<
Gotcha!! and she likes it much better when I aggressively run a course.

    >>>Otherwise, you will get into reactive mode as a habit, which ends up putting you further behind.<<<<< yup and then it will all fall apart

    >>>>I think she had valid points on her decisions there ๐Ÿ™‚<<< I had no doubt that she was doing what she thought I wanted, I just couldn’t see it.

    >> at :54, you had too much pressure towards 11 and she thought it was a rear cross <<< That one, I knew it was the pressure on her line

    >>>At 1:08 โ€“ you closed your shoulder away and opened back upโ€ฆ looked like a pull-flip to the other side of the tunnel, so that is what she did.

After that, you added the flappy tappy โ€“ it got her head turned to you, but it stops you from handling the line and she dropped the bar. Then at 1:50 she was really unsure (she was trying to read the handling but being told it was wrong, so was not trusting things) and you broke connection and she took the tunnel slowly.<<< yes, she started going slower and slower through this section because she was I sire. She is such a good girlie and always tries so hard. It can be a double edged sword because I can get caught up in trying to “get it right” and she will keep working even though I don’t reward enough. I was using only cheese while we were working and tugs/retrieves at the end of our sessions to conserve her energy and not have her get too hot too soon. that being said, I definitely could have rewarded more with cheese and/or keep our motion going through an error. I had a passing thought about layering 14. I can set up this section at home adding the layer, verbals, and being more mindful of rewards

    Thank you Tracy!

Soooo.. I will try sequence 1 again turning to the right and slicing 6. Think I was thinking I would be so far behind that I would need to default to threadle wrap as I did the first day I worked this exercise.

As to in in– my flappy tappy means to come in to me. My threadle slice cue is a hand back, shoulders open. Running that sequence I “felt” her drifting to the right and used the floppy to come in to me and take the front side of the jump. Running from 4 – 5, I used NO threadle jaf. and being a good girl, got the threadle on my verbal only.

We worked the standard course today– fun! I will be interested in your take on why from 10ใ€‹11 she chose the tunnel. I felt like my motion and body position were indicating #11.

Snuck in a few reps before the thunder got too close. I was not in a good place, was very short with Audubon. Had to bring him
outside with us and he was obnoxiously Barking.

    but, here ya go.

    I HATE summer!!!!!! wwwaaaahhhhhhh!

Halfway through resetting the course this afternoon for more space, it started storming.

Sequence 2, I was trying to be creative with handling since I gave myself a handler restriction. It will be interesting to see what other options I have with appropriate spacing.

    fingers crossed- tomorrow after work!

Thank you!! I was very happy with our session. Staying at Donna D’s outside Nashville this weekend so I will have the opportunity to get in some work in a new environment.

    Have a great weekend!

gah!!!!! I could not stop spinning or fronting but felt our connection was better.

did ladder grid with treat and train and me sending. I know it’s not how was supposed to be done… but my brain needed something simple.

Agree with all. I can’t help but want to kick myself because this issue with his stays ๐Ÿ˜• is fallout from that stupid seminar. There was a lot of frustration there and I was hoping if there was fallout, that it would be temporary.
Apparently there was a huge imprint.

Our session last evening was so bad that I almost did not submit this video. But there were a few nice things. My leaning over and steering with my behind was not one of them! I tried doing the latter grid, but I was by myself and we had several failures with him staying. Later that evening I took him for a walk and asked for a few stays, and used a few different releases. He was perfect so either it’s something with his understanding of doing it in my yard are in front of equipment he knows there is a higher reinforcement history.

Or is this just his adolescence or do I need to work stays in a different way or in a different environment or as you said before try not to do them at all right now in the face of equipment after he has a few failures

    >>>>>looking really good! You can totally use a toy for this too, so he can drive back for tugging. The cookies will be good for lining up at your side, for a smoother start<<<<<<

It was soooo hot that I was trying to preserve his energy by limited tugging. We are baking already! Thought cookies would be less energy extending. Ended up with short tug sessions in between exercises.

    >>>> start all reps, even the easy ones, with a finger on his collar so you can say left or right 3 or 4 times before you let go and <<<<

ugh, WHY can I not remember that?

    Thank you!!

Ha!! Dropped my Manners minder this weekend and not functioning๐Ÿ˜ซ. I have it partially disassembled and trying to figure out what is broken.
Signed up for MaxPup3 working spot, and the registration form for live classes. Hope I did it

Thanks Tracy!! It’s partly serious intent to have a solid start line this go round and partly because, except for rare instances, I am training solo. Need to figure out where and when I can do a backward cookie toss instead of a stay.

I’ll keep that adolescent brain in mind when training. Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š
