    Winging It – Turnaways – 1/16/21
I felt like it was easier to get him to threadle in to me on these. I think I should probably be closer to the wing on the lap turns (esp to the right). I added a flip (left)/turn (right) turning cue. I haven’t done anything with a threadle/flip back on your path cue. It will probably be In-In-In. (I picked that for Min and then realized it rhymed with her name which I tend to use on these for her anyway)

    Teeter – Mountain Climber – 1/15/21
Posting again since this one went missing from last night.
Got him sending ahead of me! In true Kaladin fashion, it’s a deliberate trot and not a run but I think he is looking a lot more confident heading up there on his own. And we did his very first tiny drop which I don’t thing he noticed so mission accomplished.
Do I stick with the tiny drop for a few more sessions before trying either a slightly bigger drop or removing the towel from the chair? (Not both at once)

I’m also working on advancing the bang game and focusing on his head position (esp before the release) and varying my position and movement

    Teeter Bang It – 1/13/21
Teeter is now about 5in off the ground. Except for issues getting on from my left side (the more cramped side), he is pretty good about holding his position as I keep moving or when a ball is on the ground. However he is looking at the ball and not down at the target once he has gotten himself in to 2o2o. Move the distraction further out? How important is it for him to focus down at the target? Can he flick his eyes up to the ball if he then looks back at the target?
This was 2 sessions and a bit longer because I left in the bit when he was being really creative in working out what to do. I probably should have rewarded the bit where he did get a 1o2o position with the outside hind hanging in space.

    Angled Teeter Entries – 1/10-11/21
2 sessions since I had to flip the teeter around to get the other direction. That clattering sound in the first session was the other long jump board falling over.

    Teeter – Bang It – 1/11/21
Teeter is a bit further off the ground. It’s hard for me to get more arousal when the space is cramped. I did flip the teeter around to do the other direction of the angled entry right before this. He’s been a bit sticky about releasing on a verbal cue when on my left, esp if I am slightly behind the end of the board.

    Mat To & Thru – 1/10/21
We did one sessio during the week on the driveway using the 2 slightly raised mats next to each other like this.
Should I be rewarding if 1 hind foot misses or hits the edge of the mat?

    Serpentines – 1/10/21
Jumps at 6in. Next time I’ll try to actually be closer to the jumps. The pressure may start popping him back out to the backsides if I’m not ahead of him.
The one rep where he ran by has a really late arm back cue but some of the ones where he did serp weren’t much better. I also don’t think I’ve got my upper body rotated in much but he was still getting the serps

In other news, his neck did need adjusting last Wednesday. When he turned his head to the right, the left side was stuck and didn’t make a corresponding move out so it was harder for him to tutn turn right.

Apparently the crate has more value when the handler is stationary. I think he was also a bit tired. This was the last game we played today.

    Leadouts – 1/9/21
I really like the BC leadout at 1min. I think I timed this one better than the earlier one to the left. On this one I can see him taking the inside corner of the 2nd jump.

Should I be using a verbal cue based on which direction he is wrapping?
I realized I wasn’t using both hands to turn him in the tandem turns. I was trying to figure out what to do with the hand with the toy.

Getting that arm and shoulder back really helped him. Even when I flattened the angle, I didn’t feel like he was going to pop to the back.

So it says the pre requisite is her foundations class. Any chance she is offering that anytime? Wondering if the RDW one she is offering will ne too advanced for us.

    Tracy,

Will Jordan’s running contact class show up on the A-U site under current courses? I am interested in that even though it is likely MN will still have snow outside towards the end of it.

    Serpentines -1/2/21 & 1/3/21
Ok this is weird. This is take 3 for posting this. I thought I had put the first one in an earlier MaxPup forum by accident, but I know I posted here last night and I don’t see it anywhere.

    1/2/21
After slowing down to make sure he came over the jump on the first rep, he was rocking coming in over the jump. The problem we had was him popping out to take the wind jump backwards, esp when he was coming in to my right hand. Watching the video I think I wasn’t doing a good job of getting the right hand/arm back.

After a short break I decided to try some of the serp-tunnel sequences but made the angles easier. He still looks like he is trying to drift out and take then 2nd jump backwards. He sliced it rather too close to the standard on one rep.

    1/3/21
Got one where he went to the back of the 2nd jump but then managed to get my shoulders turned more and he did much better.

Running Contacts Foundation – To & Through Mat – 1/3/21
He got the back and forth very quickly. This is the 2nd session of the To & Through
Yesterday in the first session he was thoughtful and sorting things out even when I accidentally triggered the PT as he was coming back to me…twice (he spun around and headed to PT).
Today I had sorted out the PT remote mechanics. He had a few more errors of missing with his hind feet but I felt like he was learning more trying to sort out what I was looking for.
