I am going to teach take a breath while Seren is resting. I will look through the lessons and see if there are others he could do. Do you guys have other mind/brain games he can play during his physical break time. I have some of the games where they find the food but he is too physical with them. Other thoughts?

Vet appointment for little “Seren”… x-rays show large space between the first and second vertebrae at the base of his tail. Possible injury. Meds on board waiting for radiologist report. Crate rest for now. LOL. He is throwing a fit in his little pen I set up. Thank goodness my 12 year old Papillon will chill with him. Trying not to freak out. Keeping positive thoughts this is just a temporary issue.

Good news… with the serpentine exercises when I move both dogs back a bit and got them excited by doing the tunnels first we got both the serp. and the tunnels with body position for the serp and verbal for the tunnel. Much better than our first session. I was please with the results. I am bad and don’t count how many we did and how many were successful but my thoughts we were at least 85% maybe higher.
Then we moved on the tunnel/crate discrimination and my great training of crates games with Ebby the 2 1/2 year old came to bite me in the butt… he was so intend on getting in the crate and then when released he ran to me and right back to crate. Finally when I got manners minder out and put it around the corner from the end of tunnel where I usually would toss a toy or cookie… I worked him with the tunnel and manners minder and he was able to do about 50% right to the tunnel and 95% to the crate. I think I might try the next session using a mat or a dog bed instead of crate.
Ebbie the 4 year old was not as focused on the crate and after knowing the manners minder was there he did ok… but I cannot hold him to rev. him up in any way.. he shuts down… so I just have him on my side slightly put hand in front of him and give him the verbal and if he is on the side where the tunnel is he will do the tunnel… if he is on the side of me where the crate is he will do the crate. If he is not sure he will just slow down and go to crate or just stop. This is a work in progress for him as he gets stressed if he thinks he is not right or if I repeat anything too many times. I just always have to keep his happy and having fun with no pressure… he is my blind cross dog. He hates rears (my fault in training for bad timing). Ok with fronts as long as my timing is really on point. He prefers to know where to go and wants me ahead and out of his way. He dislikes any kind of pressure and that is in every day life also.

Both dogs did great on the wrap exercises and had plenty of drive. But when we worked on the serp. exercises they lost their drive…. now we are working indoors in our training room which is 24 x 30 which is plenty of room but both dogs have less drive indoors than outdoors or in a larger dirt arena. So on the serp exercises they both did not drive to me on the serps. …. I did notice in a couple of the participant videos they were setting their dogs up further back from the wing to start …. I was setting my paps up pretty close to the wing of the jump… so I went back and watch your demo videos… it seems with your first dog you were closer to the wing and the second dog in the advance section you set the dog further back from jump. I wonder if I started the paps a bit further back they might have a little more drive to me. Also may try this outdoors and see what the difference it. Neither pap would drive to the toy… these two paps once the cookies are used they are no longer into the toys. I tried it with their hedgehog toy (their favorite) but they just were not driving to the toy so since we were indoors I was able to use cookies.
