Yay finally could get back outside without freezing or needing a boat!

We did our rear crosses, threadles, and get outs! All in one video- I did put title pages to divide them up.

Threadles are sooooo hard- we finally got one!

Love her get outs! So cool they just know what that means

When’s the last day to post?

only made it to the backyard.

Felt like I pretty much had no idea what I was doing- especially when I tried to get the circle around the wing. so here it is!

Thinking about the NADAC trial we have coming up Sunday. We’re doing 8 classes. Would it be harmful or helpful to go through the stages of “just like home” all in one day at the trial? so 2-3 runs with toys visible, 2-3 with toy in my pocket, 1 or 2 without a toy at the end of the day? Only because our next opportunity are ACT test at the place we took classes and those have to be done without toys. We’re only doing level 1

or maybe do all with a toy- not hidden and hidden? then practice in our clubs field without a toy to prep for the ACT test? Thoughts?

I thought I was leaning a bit far towards the wing when she went around- yay her for understanding it! we have access! just need to bundle up. I know the next ones require a bit more space. We are going to do some training runs at a NADAC Trial Sunday so going to record all those. Crossing everything that she brings her listening ears and doesnt run off… Will do mostly toy runs i think. we have 8 chances. A lot of people on my facebook feed went to a UKI trial for the first time this past weekend and I saw how the food box works! Loved how that works. The next one localish is March.

Tomorrow and Thursday are about 32 or so- so hopefully we can get out to our field. Next Monday looks lovely at 40 degrees! She LOVES the cold so as long as we dont get anymore snow- we should be able to get out there.

    Thanks so much!

Very short sends in the garage! She loves her treat n train. still think she was paying attention to what doing. There was a time towards the end I was attempting to send her from the jump around the wing and she went around the jump..

    >>>>Sending to the wing at the beginning >>>>was a good warm up – at :03, remember >>>>to step forward with your dog-side >>>>leg. And also remember to look at her >>>>very strongly on the sends
<—— you mean after I send her around the wing, so pretty much take another step to clear up the send? It’s all just over thinking for me

So we can add in some crosses with these sends?

We’ll do some sends again in our yard when it’s a little less frigid!

yes! we’re going to work though the steps of “just like home”

So here’s her sends. This was recorded after our previous videos the same day as I knew what was coming! I was very confused on how to switch sides so some bloopers. Sent to Treat n Train as I knew that was highly rewarding! Last rep I struck the treat n train parallel to us to do that little sequence.

So excited you’re seeing all the good things when I see the screw ups!

    Anyway! Sends!

I tried some combo sequences I think anyway- pretty much forgot everything I knew once we got to the field. kept some of the bloopers in when I switched the toy in my hands, forgot what I was doing, didn’t move to finish the crosses to get jump 3
Side note: she was focused and engaged! Didn’t run off so high hopes when we get back in the ring-

Yay us! Going to try to get to the clubs field this evening if I can work the lights to try some of the blinds with more space. It’s in the 50s today! Rain tomorrow then freezing temps 🙁 boo!

Then maybe do some of week 2 games while we have the room

Ok spins take two! Back in the garage- I practiced without her a few times- finally understood the motion. Toy in the opposite hand threw me but I get it now with the blind, just awkward.

Video- was in my head in the beginning that I forgot to look at her most the time. Was late a few times, then got it! Throwing the toy with the arm across my body was strange.

Anyway you can tell me where I would use this on a course? So we do jump 1, jump 2, spin- then where does the course go after that?

Edit: Im going to leave the question here- but I was browsing others videos and saw Barbie and Moochi do their spins and finally can see where it could be helpful!

Appreciate the eagle eye! So in theory- I know the differnce between a front cross and the spin. On your video it makes sense.. but in motion- what’s the difference? Is it where we’re going next? both switch hands/sides?

Yard is a mudpit so garage had to do- Here’s our spins! I did notice once that I turned too soon which caused her to come in

yay! Thank you much! Its so motivating that we’re (well I AM getting it…). she already knows what she’s doing.

Spent years and years being told to “look at where the dog is going- dont stare at the dog” and my front crosses are very big normally.. so here’s to learning something new

I brought out the tripod and a new toy- ball tug thing and she was ready!! Only focused on the front cross. the spins I’ll need to practice just the movements a lot more!

so don’t quite understand the posting requirements so if im posting too long of videos or to much- let me know. Is it 3 minutes a week or per video?

So she LOVES training with food but what I was told form her breeder when she was there was that food decreases arousal and toys increase it. so we should be training with toys for agility and being engages with toys that involve me. she was trained with food for the first year or so but couldn’t keep her attention and focus with food while training or working in a hard environment like a trial/outside.

This one is with the treat n train starting with wing-jump- reward on our good side, then switches to the other side. Then wing-jump-junp-reward on the same side, then same on our good side.

Very very focused on the treat n train of course so she attempts to cheat to take the quicker way. Not even sure she cared if I was there or not- guess we’ll find out during our other connections. How would I do the other connections in such a small space? like getting a blind or front?

    We know Chip!
Anyway! Thank you for the feedback. So I don’t want to lose her drive for toys, but would it be easier to use a treat n train?

Might be irrational fears but afraid if we go back to reinforcing with food/ she’s go back to running off and disengagement. She does enjoy the treat n train. Or are these type of exercises that food would be beneficial to make us both slow down and think?

Maybe we’ll try both (treats and toys) and you can tell us!

Already feel behind! But here’s our dumpster fire… literally first reps-
But I do see maybe where things can improve-
Think my arm was too high and the wing was too close to the jumps? And I can only hobble run right now.

She was very excited to do the things though!
