I am behind and doing a lot of catch up. Quick Question: When we are starting the procedure of getting the dead toy off the ground and say “Get it” – IF my dog is in a position that is requested e.g. Sit – does ‘get it’ also become the release word? I confused Seeley (older bc) with this because I always said break then ‘get it’ so essentially break also meant you can go get the toy. Later on in agility when I wanted to proof something, or use the toy on the ground as a distraction, when I would release with Break, he would run and grab the toy… and rightfully so. I want to make sure my reward procedure is clear, so I don’t confuse Believe and cause this conflict later on, but also want to make sure I don’t water down my release command. At some point, I changed Seeley’s understanding that whatever I said first, from a start line – like “Jump” also was his release, but when there isn’t a ‘thing’ to do, like take a jump — is where I want to make sure I understand and am clear with my procedure.

Hi, so I know/use a lot of these markers, but like that you are showing how to keep them clean.
Question – Will you be giving an example of how the ‘Sshhhhh’ moving food/toy in the hand is applied?

I haven’t seen that and interested on how/what that clarifies for the dog.
    Thanks,
    Anne
