    Hi again!

I have been practicing this a lot by myself but still not sure I am getting the handling right! These are rocking horse blind crosses.

    Hi!
We are having a little trouble with the ladder grid. I tried some different spacing between 3-4 feet (she is about 12″). This is at 4 foot spacing. Sometimes she is still leaping over the space between the bars.

    Hello!
Yes she hates me holding her when she is very excited so it’s something we are working on!

I have a question about verbals. Could I use the same terms left and right for both a wrap and a loose turn or do I need different words? I’m trying to keep it less confusing for me!

    Here is our serpentine work.

Here is extension Go cue. After watching the first videos, I realized how late I was throwing the toy. Still working on getting earlier.

Here is our mini pinny. It was a little more difficult with space between the jumps.

I tried again with the food bowl target. On the first try I almost forgot about putting the treat in the bowl!

Here is the set point. Again I had trouble setting her up. I think she did not want to be too close the the bars.

Here is our stay tour. We definitely need more work on this. I’m having some difficulty setting her up where I want her to be. We have done a lot of work on setting up on my left side and also between my legs but mostly inside.

Here is our tunnel game. We hadn’t done much with the tunnel before the class started.

Here is our lazy game. I have been trying hard to use toys as a reward as well as treats. My previous dogs were very food motivated so it is a learning experience for me to work with toys! This is our 3rd session of this game. First we had to work through getting her to bring back the toy when out in the yard!

    Hi Tracy!
I am really interested in continuing on with Max Pup 3 and 4 but my dog is only 8 months old. Can the games be adapted for a younger dog? Or would it be better for me to download the materials and wait a few months to begin them on my own?
    Thank you!

    Hi Tracy,
I don’t have a manners minder. Is it ok to just toss the treat after the dog bangs the wobble board?

We have been working through the games and enjoying the class!

Switch locations for toy game: This has worked great. She loves the excitement of running to another place. I have also been doing better quality tugging with her (I hadn’t realized before watching your video that I was doing most of the tug work and she was happy to just chew on the toy while I held it) and now she really pulls back on the tug. She is doing better on switching without changing locations now also.
We are having difficulty playing with a toy outside of home and our own yard. She ignores my efforts to make the toy exciting.

Restrained recalls: We are definitely not doing this enough. She tends to jump on and lick the restrainer. If I am holding her she wants to bite me.
She seems to do better when I am holding her with the restrained cookie toss game and when I show her the cookie she is much more focused. She also is not a fan of the collar grab game so I think this is part of the problem.

    Shaping retrieve:
In the house, she already has a pretty good retrieve where she brings the toy within reach but not to hand. If I am sitting, she climbs into my lap with the toy. I tried holding out my hand for the toy, but she tends to drop the toy and then do a hand target. Also, when I have given her a treat once or twice (low value kibble) she often becomes focused on getting more treats, ignores the toy and then starts going through all her tricks to get another treat. She does better with the tug – shaping game with treats- tug. I’m thinking this is because the shaping session is a little longer and when I start the tugging it signals that the shaping is over.
