Mulling over the leash but still lol… if the sequence is leash on, tug, run out for cookies… is ok if he opts not to tug or does that dilute something?

Zoom was fun sorry I had to leave a few minutes early

That works I’m just not sure he would always find value in the leash and would hate for it to not be fun in those instances. Especially with AKC leash rules sigh…. Where is your leash from?

I just watch the leash video in week four. Is it worth trying with Merlin, I’ve tried it before and I usually get a look that says oh I’d rather run for food….

Well I spent the majority of the session not shown here trying to figure out why he became Mr. plucky and wouldn’t bring the furry toy back. Turns out I didn’t have my milker tug So the ball was a huge hit. But Me smarty pants said it had to the right ball hollee roller did not pass… I guess if I want to play catch in the future I need to find out which toy he’ll bring back first.

My stuff is on the red chair in the session.

I plan to rent the ring again on Monday… so that would be tug over to the bait bag so I can pay for giving the tug back?

Are bite and tug two different things for you? I’m beginning to realize I don’t have just a bite.

And you can also face the way you want to go, prasie him… then do the catch. That way he doesn’t anticipate that you’ll do it when you stop or when you look back at him. He is VERY smart so we need to be sure he is not one step ahead of us LOL!!!

Is this face the way I want to go my back to him then turn back toward him and catch?

Yes I prefer to lead out and then face him but I’m working thru that in a trial I’ve not been successful lol… I have a ring rental week after next will experiment.

    Thanks!!

Tried moving the toy and also using catch or get it after he let the toy go… the one rep is my error he clearly didn’t understand back from where I was… hope you have a very happy and yummy Thanksgiving.

Playing some bring me that thing trying to get him to bring the toy back vs chew on it. I showed him a plate of egg and pumpkin on a nearby table which he was thrilled about. I didn’t let him have it until after he brought me the thing and gave the toy back. Is showing the reward to be earned something I need to phase out?

I ended up using OK catch because OK is my release word and I didn’t wanna poison that. I did three mini play sessions while I was making mac & cheese and bread… so this is those three sessions I was testing a little bit of the leave it for the toy maybe too hard? I knew better than to leave a fuzzy thing on the ground that leads to plucking and I don’t exist lol. Still working on bringing the toy back versus chewing on the toy. Started saying free dog or a chew or whatever he wants to do with the toy seems reinforcing. Played with the frisbee for his dinner small space so he had to run into me and it was hard for him to leave with it. Any suggestions for returning the toy?
