lol! It is a learning curve! Do you know how to upload videos to youtube as “unlisted”? If so, then you will just copy and paste the link to your forum page. If not, let me know and we will get you some more in depth instructions.

Yay! Glad to have you here! What are some of the tools you are using for speed that work? Look forward to working with you both!

Perfect! For the first week drills, I want you to ALWAYS reward him with the lotus ball after each tunnel. Make sure you throw it as he enters so that he is not coming out looking at you then lotus ball gets thrown. I want him to see it fly (or rolled) as he is making his way through the tunnel. If he is fast, jackpot to the lotus ball (meaning dropping more cookies into the lotus ball). Make sense?

    Hi Fei,
Glad to have you both here!!! How did you train the contacts? Do you have access to contacts? She is a lot more confident when you are not too far ahead of her. If you watch your videos, you will see that there are times you are ahead of her and she slows down. Do you know if this is consistent through your runs? Look forward to working with you both!

    Hi Tom,
I like your honesty! It is hard to control what we say when a mistake happens! I am glad that you understand the importance of acclimation! We are going to talk more about that in lesson #2. Do you see a big difference in his behavior on course when he can acclimate more? Glad you are here!

Hi Joyce! Glad you are here! Sounds like your dogs are great! Glad that Carlie is better now! In reference to the noise sensitivity, what kind of noises is he sensitive to? What is his response before you get his attention? Reinforcement has to be carefully planned in situations like this so that you are not reinforcing his reaction to the noise. Make sense? Glad you guys are here!

    Hi Kyle,
I was asking about the weaves because I would love for you to spend some time going back to 2 then 4 then 6 poles (basically rework some of your foundation stuff with 2×2). HIGH rate of reinforcement, then vary the number of poles (meaning sometimes she does 2,6, 8, 4, 12, 10 and so on). Of course, rule out any pain, but we often get stuck on weave pole issues because there are so many components to the weaves (entries, exits, weaving fast, 6 poles then 12) and if all of those parts aren’t perfect, the dog doesn’t get rewarded and then they find that the poles are not fun. Also, I would spend some time rewarding the effort in the poles. If she normally pops at #4, then makes it to #6 don’t go on, reward ahead. Make sense?

    Hi Tatjana!
Thanks for the video! The art in that building is so cool!!! Anyway, does always speed up at the end of the course? Food or toy drive? I have some ideas for you 🙂

Hi Shirley! Welcome! She is super cute!!! Thank you for the video! She certainly looks engaged here. Does she always have nice toy drive? Will she go to a dead toy? Meaning, if you place it or even throw it, will she go get it? Glad you’re here!

Cricket – OMG how cute is she!?!?!? Your play sessions are GREAT! However, there is a lapse between play, play, play and then boring then cue the tunnel. I want the play action to come right around the first obstacle then the tunnel should be part of the play (meaning send her in the tunnel while her energy is up). Another thing is when she is done, you throw the lotus ball (good reward), but I want the same energy as your initial play sessions with some thrown cookies. Make sense?
Tails – This was good! I actually like his energy much more with the toy than with food. He is more thoughtful with food and seems to have much “higher energy” with the toy. Also, we will talk about this in lesson 2, but I want your startline tricks to me more “active” rather than “static”. Meaning, have him spin one direction and when he comes out of it immediately send him over a jump. Also, keep your energy up the WHOLE time. Often times, our dogs mimic our energy, I want the party to happen from the time you step on the line to the time you finish. Make sense?
As far as your courses, what you have set is not a problem at all!

    Hello Louise,
Glad to have you here!!! Thank you for the video! Is there a significant difference in her speed at trials vs training? How does your handling change?

Glad to have you both here! How long of a break did you take and how many trials has it been since you have been back?

    Hi Kyle,
Glad to have you both here! How did you train the weaves? Just so I can have a better picture of her foundation. Thank you for the video.
