ParticipantOk I focused on accel/decel. I will also need to keep thinking about the balance between facing her too soon and giving her information in time! Better here, I think, but she broke down to a trot one time I faced a little early. This session was only a few minutes but we were battling heat and bugs. My long sleeves and pants are bug protection!

Ok, we’re on the tunnel games! I thought I’d be be good here, but I still made some boo-boos!

ParticipantHad another go at these sequences.
I practiced my verbals and turns first, sans dog.
I visualized them in my house before going out to the buggy, humid field.
I lowered bars and I thought really hard about not facing too soon her on turns. On #2, I did try slicing, just for fun.
I want to think more about running lines closer to the jumps before tight turns. Agreed that I don’t want to get there too soon. Anytime I’m just “hanging out” at a jump wing bleeds off speed, doesn’t it. I was thinking about that, even if not perfectly executed.

ParticipantOk, thanks!
I agree she turns better right than left. I’m going to think a bit more on that. She may be due for a Chiro…. (I know I am!)
I need to be more thoughtful about when to face her, and try to find more ways to put in accel/decel. I thought I did in the sequences, but as I’m looking at it, not as much as I thought! LOL. I should probably be running them without a dog first.
These sequences did give us an opportunity to move out a bit more, but it still doesn’t feel like we are going as fast as we could.
And DARN I need to work on remembering to use DIG and CHECK correctly! Another reason to run without a dog at first…

ParticipantOk, what I think about “chase-and-go”…
About 7 or 8 years ago, in CAMP, you told me something similar about my other Malinois, who happens to be Winnie’s momma. So I changed things up and we were all happier! That time it was embracing BLIND CROSSES when they were part of the evil empire (or something!). Seems like a million years away, but obviously there is some consistency with me and my dog family. 🙂Ok, so I tried to implement. It seems harder to put accel/decel between 2-3-4, when there are only a few steps, but I’m sure we’ll get more opportunities as we move along. I’m glad she’s willing to try backsides if she thinks that’s the answer, but I am still surprised at how easy it is to push her to them.
We didn’t finish everything because of heat and BUGS! and I didn’t always get the sequence correct, but I wanted to submit this before we moved along.
Also, my birds are loud, aren’t they!
