Rocking horse part 3. I thought he did really good for our first attempts. He is having trouble focusing on the mama(or maybe the toy too)! This was broken
Up into 3 turns with breaks. I’m not sure why I threw the toy. I don’t want to thrown the toy lol! I did try placing the toy behind the wing but that was just too much for him so I brought out the treat and train. I think on the whole he was much better on not hitting the wings as he was doing in the previous turn and burns. The only time he did I believe was when he was biting my arm lol!

Real Wing wrap and cone threadle.

He did super with the real wing was able to add Motion to the threadle wraps! He’s doing better with the hands! Not perfect, but much better!

    Serpentines
He did better when he was at a stay, but he wasn’t always able to hold the stay with my motion so I did Cookie toss sometimes. These were a little hard for him

Restrained recalls 2 sessions. The morning I remembered to let him run past or maybe I did to preserve my body 😂. I forgot that I was supposed to call him back. His retrieve is pretty good except for furry toys that must be deplucked promptly lol! Having two toys help a ton distracting him from his deplucking.

    Week 10 wing wraps.
Started with toy and got more jumping up then I’d like. Then switched to tossed cheese and got maybe a little less and then moved cones closer and got less!
I was taking to my oldest on FaceTime and demonstrated it before I recorded it. He jumped up and grabbed my whole arm😂😂😂. So we need some work on this lol! He was worse this time about the jumping than on the live. I swear… even though I was frozen lol!

Tunnel threadle done day before. I think he was better on my right due to my positioning. But overall he did really well

Stays… he’s doing pretty well with these. I have to remember to keep eye contact with him. I had to change my whole procedure with promise because the eye contact was too much for her and she does better if I don’t look at her at all. I plan to keep connection with Quill. Way less scary leading out lol!

Wow! He did so, so super with his arousal with another dog working! Look at those field genetics shining through!!! Also this is so useful for field which is a sport I plan on doing with him! Promise cannot do this lol! That’s why you hear her screaming in video lol!

Here is the toy version I put wrong link for other day

Here is retake of the multiple wraps. Latent learning helped a ton here and also me having better mechanics! I think he’s got it!

I think he is starting to get it, but my hands are a huge distraction for him lol! I think he is finding it slightly frustrating also. He went to go check out the treat bag I think, which he never does. If I lure him he eats my hands and it’s painful lol. Going to step back and work on treat delivery, impulse control and taking treat a little nicer! I think it will all go smoother after he stops trying to eat me😂

Small slice. We have been working on this since he was itty bitty! He has amazing self control and drive for wanting to stay with the mama and work.
I tried to do some reps with sits with food, but I could not get the distraction dog to go away from me 😂. I will do it when Annalise has time. I suspect he’ll do great.

We did do backside and threadle again. He was great just like on the live!!! Not one issue

    Strike a pose
    Thought he did really well
We tried with ready treat but it was too tempting to go to today lol! Didn’t include the video as it’s just him running to it lol.

Backup to platform I filmed awhile back and don’t think I posted

Threadle wraps. When it got time to move slow I had a hard time still moving and turning him in a half circle lol! Also I didn’t bend as much which meant he didn’t get as nice of a circle. I thought he did really well and he didn’t totally eat hands off 😂

Whew! This was kinda exhausting 😂. Barrel wraps continues to be my nemesis. Quill has also “turned on” as my Sheltie family says 😂. He’s full out teenager now with boundless energy lol!

First tried with toy. I know my second wrap I had bad toy mechanics and whipped it right by his face. He did great with the toy with the previously learned wrapped but when I introduced the new move it was just too much for him and he went back to barrel smashing.
Switched to food and it went better. Left which is he easier side went better. I’m not convinced he knows it’s about going around the barrel yet. Right side much harder. Placed reward halfway around barrel for that when he struggled
Still having a lot of focus for my hands and the reward. I know I need to be playing some games with the reward marker to delivery to mouth. I’m not near as go as marking that as I am the thrown rewards. In my video, I wasn’t good with any of my reward markers 🤦‍♀️. I also think he has some confusion on when that reward is available.

Alright, once I finally get out the door to train some of the things fly right out of my head lol! I see I was supposed to toss the treat before he took the jump, not after. That probably would have helped him lol! Quill being brilliant figured it all out anyway. The left side was harder. That is probably from lots and lots of RZ zone on that side.

Ok before I left for cyno we had to do some work with the barrel because he was having a great time attacking and rolling the barrel but not going around it. I was just about to go buy to large traffic comes when I decided to give it one more try! Wow! I think he’s getting it!!! Only one attempt at whack a mole lol!! I did use a target plate for the reward and had the cookies in my pocket. He struggled with the wraps previously with me holding the cookie in my hand so I thought I’d start like this! Still got a little jumping at hands but not every time!

Thank you for cheering for me at cyno! That run was a dream! Promise and I have worked so hard and you’ve been a huge part of our journey! I got tears when we won!!! Thank you!!!

Quill got some training but no official class stuff. He found the environment very exciting!!! He did some field retrieving with lots of distractions around and was even able to hold his stay at my side while his bumper was thrown! He was such a good boy on the trip!

    Prop and turn aways
One side is definitely easier than the other lol!

We won’t be at live tomorrow. Promise and I are attending our very first cynosports! We leave tomorrow.
My goal is to train Quill some too each day!

Tunnel game! He did really well! He runs through them all the time, but I had not formally introduced it. Took advantage of my older daughter visiting and being a toy helper🥰
