I did this last week and completely forgot to post! So much going on. Maybe something I’m doing with this. Treats are not my speciality. We only got a couple times without the spin.

“The only thing I would suggest is to change th reward delivery. It looks like the reward ws placed out on the line here, so for the next session mix in most of the rewards being thrown as soon as he looks at the line”

I had placed the toy on the line. I’m definitely not a stealthy thrower or even good at throwing 😂😂. Will try to throw next time.

Thank you for all the ideas for the toy and keeping my hands intact 😂😂😂.

I think a lot of things are playing into mainly adolescence!!! I need to get a handle on it. He chomps and it really hurts! He’s starting to amp the arousal up so that’s playing into all of this. I agree separating it is needed and I will have to do game over like you said! Just like my human teens!

Today I did the serp and sends and just used food. It wasn’t lost on me that just using food persevered my limbs😂. I need to remember that food is a great option too, especially for learning new skills as it keeps his arousal at a more manageable level. If I do use a toy for training it can’t be furmania lol!!!

He did great on the Serps. No questions going to left. The right he first had questions, broke it down and by the end he was equal both directions!!!
Ignore my frustration with my treat n train! It seems it can’t do its job correctly! Ugh!!! Will be long for other disc so maybe it can actually dispense a cookie.

Quill is 10 months! Find the jump easy peasy. Hopefully this setup is close enough. We setup up a course yesterday for Prytania and promise and it involves all three tunnels. I want to leave it setup so I tried to make this setup work. I do think the jump by the setup confused him one time on the wrap. What was cool was there was another tunnel about 25 feet from the jump off camera. I did it as sequence and he nailed it!!! Let me know if I totally messed this up and I will redo. https://youtu.be/AFNwA_7XIfU?si=NbqgNWAWyj5ZZwfK

Collar grab. I left this a little long with the toy play. Wanted you to see how he regrips and jumps up… ideas??? The collar grab was no issue

    Mini pini
He remembered!!! And he did so well
Figuring out the rears. He does look strangled with the collar grabs but that is because he was raring to go each time lol! I did this with toy twos to help get him back faster and that is going great! I have two ball tugs that is working well that he doesn’t want to regrip as much. The only issue is that they are hard to target for him and he is a jumper lol! A few shark bites. Loved our in between legs rep where he went the wrong way but then figured it out! So impressed!

I’ve watched so much jumping with promise I can see it right away❤️. His form is so gorgeous! Thank you! I’m just lucky. The universe knew I needed this ❤️. Bar issues are the worst 😢.

On the amazing toy lol…I’m having a puppy teenage problem with Quilly on these fuzzy/furry amazing toys. He is very reluctant to bring back. His overwhelming desire to destroy keeps him from bringing it to me lol! He also gets pretty jumpy and snatchy for toy. Things I’m doing… really working my reward markers for toy availability. Offering a cookie for the drop when doing exercises. Grabbing both ends if toy for tugging. He tends to regrip a lot of I don’t. He if releases to regrip I start game again with a marker word and some self control before that word. Here after running off and defusing twice I didn’t let him run through and just kept hold. Any and all advice welcome.
He gets a lot of satisfaction in holding things! Of course right?! Golden.

We are dabbling in field and I have zero issues with this with bumpers, but I went through a whole protocol of teaching return to my hand. He’s. Total rockstar with that.

    Tunnel exits…

    He did pretty well
For first time. His inclination is go so he is not so sure on the verbals yet. He did great when there was a placed reward but not as good as when I had toy. I want to use the bar with the go jump as I have an issue with promise looking at just the wings.

He’s not totally committed to taking jumps yet and that’s why I had the toy placed out before the go jump.

Sorry to post these all at once. One game was last night. Other two this morning. All turns included.

    Wind in your hair

I think when I was holding the toy, which is a huge favorite of his he found it a little distracting. Lately he has been more reluctant to immediately bring back the favs… hello teenage quill 😂. Where you going with my toy mama?!? Still working on mechanics for toy. When reward is available and not maiming the mama trying to get the toy. Furry tugs are out for skills sessions right now as they just produce too much arousal.
So all that said. I think the best ones where when the toy was not on me. I’m so proud of him as this is huge to do the thing and not immediately get the toy! He was super.

Smiley face… wowza. He way exceeded my expectations! He was so perfect!!! I see my position wasn’t always the greatest in starting the wing wrap. In sequence I think for the majority I did ok, but starting out wrangling the puppy I wasn’t always in a good position. Quill apparently forgave me anyway lol, but I will try to be more mindful. I love, love, love this session! What a glimpse of the future!!!

Wrap proofing…. I left this session with more toy play in it so you can see what I’m doing. I always give a Cooke for the drop. And use a cookie for the line up. We have a slight disconnect then going to collar grab. He did one snatch for hollee roller and then went and did a catch. Hopefully you can help me with snatching and how to proceed. Overall he was such a brilliant Quilly! He has no issues with wrapping away from tunnel! Pure brilliance! His teenage brain was firing on all cylinders this a.m.
His accidentally biting me with hollee roller is less than furry tugs and he doesn’t regrip as much as he does with furry tugs. He likes to move his way up the handle on those.

Please no rush on getting back to me. I’m in a seminar next three days and will be busy! Sorry to dump so much at once.

My heart is skipping beats! I’m in love with his jumping!!! He’s 22 inches now and this is 6FT spacing! The best Quilly boy! He even put his teen antics to the side and was perfect on stays lol!

Rocking horse part 3. I thought he did really good for our first attempts. He is having trouble focusing on the mama(or maybe the toy too)! This was broken
Up into 3 turns with breaks. I’m not sure why I threw the toy. I don’t want to thrown the toy lol! I did try placing the toy behind the wing but that was just too much for him so I brought out the treat and train. I think on the whole he was much better on not hitting the wings as he was doing in the previous turn and burns. The only time he did I believe was when he was biting my arm lol!

Real Wing wrap and cone threadle.

He did super with the real wing was able to add Motion to the threadle wraps! He’s doing better with the hands! Not perfect, but much better!

    Serpentines
He did better when he was at a stay, but he wasn’t always able to hold the stay with my motion so I did Cookie toss sometimes. These were a little hard for him

Restrained recalls 2 sessions. The morning I remembered to let him run past or maybe I did to preserve my body 😂. I forgot that I was supposed to call him back. His retrieve is pretty good except for furry toys that must be deplucked promptly lol! Having two toys help a ton distracting him from his deplucking.

    Week 10 wing wraps.
Started with toy and got more jumping up then I’d like. Then switched to tossed cheese and got maybe a little less and then moved cones closer and got less!
I was taking to my oldest on FaceTime and demonstrated it before I recorded it. He jumped up and grabbed my whole arm😂😂😂. So we need some work on this lol! He was worse this time about the jumping than on the live. I swear… even though I was frozen lol!

Tunnel threadle done day before. I think he was better on my right due to my positioning. But overall he did really well

Stays… he’s doing pretty well with these. I have to remember to keep eye contact with him. I had to change my whole procedure with promise because the eye contact was too much for her and she does better if I don’t look at her at all. I plan to keep connection with Quill. Way less scary leading out lol!

Wow! He did so, so super with his arousal with another dog working! Look at those field genetics shining through!!! Also this is so useful for field which is a sport I plan on doing with him! Promise cannot do this lol! That’s why you hear her screaming in video lol!

Here is the toy version I put wrong link for other day

Here is retake of the multiple wraps. Latent learning helped a ton here and also me having better mechanics! I think he’s got it!

I think he is starting to get it, but my hands are a huge distraction for him lol! I think he is finding it slightly frustrating also. He went to go check out the treat bag I think, which he never does. If I lure him he eats my hands and it’s painful lol. Going to step back and work on treat delivery, impulse control and taking treat a little nicer! I think it will all go smoother after he stops trying to eat me😂

Small slice. We have been working on this since he was itty bitty! He has amazing self control and drive for wanting to stay with the mama and work.
I tried to do some reps with sits with food, but I could not get the distraction dog to go away from me 😂. I will do it when Annalise has time. I suspect he’ll do great.

We did do backside and threadle again. He was great just like on the live!!! Not one issue
