ParticipantThanks for that it is very helpful. Her stay status is improving heaps in training at the moment – have been working thru your stay course reinforcing the missing pieces.
Yesterday we did the popouts from the agility course. Different location – a bit more space and her excitment and arousal levels higher here.
I got myself lost a few times- Fusion says how can she get it right when human doesnt.
First course I struggled on and so this is a longer clip.

ParticipantThanks was sure i tried that but it worked. forum not worked yet.
excuse typing In Synch is helping!! managed toget to a friends to upload today. Internet at my place takes too long.
heres our attempts of the hot spots
some were easier than others. so some just did once. some didnt redo even if small mistake if smooth. Big thing I noticed was when I ovr thought or focused on something I felt was hard Iforgot to keep going…

is it possible to list courses enrolled in in order most recent to last as I have done too many courses and need to scroll to find latest – forums would be good alsobeverley thomson
Participantdefinitely will revisit- still have been doing away from equipment just not in agility context.
I am glad she got the hard part!! An idea: if she realizes that something has gone wrong (sometimes we hesitate the tiniest bit, or we say something) then you don’t even need to keep going in class. You can just reward immediately 🙂
Agreed but easier said than done- Often I think she knows she is wrong it is almost as if it takes time for something to sink in and as she goes wrong the message gets thru- so usually a sign I am late or she has read my cue differently. Then by the time I realise she has gone wrong she is in zoomie mode as she realised first. Thinking whether should plan to stop after hard bit but it is inconsistent at the moment whether she will get something or not – We both know how to do these things but in a trial neither of us is consistent.
Rain has now arrived- should have done this course earlier and broken the autumn drought sooner but hopefully can get some training done at weekend. some of those call offs look tricky for my timing.

ParticipantI havent for a while as it wasnt working at that point. Have been focused on brain camp stuff so probably time to revisit. If there is something hard (for her) at the start can lose her. But more recently it has been when somethng hard she is getting and then if there is a hard turn (for her) later she says sorry no bandwidth left have already used it. hereas before we would have just got the easy bits. So when she doesnt quite get the turn. For example in one of her last classes the first three obstacles were a wide serp and then a turnaway into a tunnel. Baby class so most didnt run it as a serp but handled every jump but she is way too fast for that. She got the serp but turned wide onto tunnel and got the wrong end I tried to just collect her as she came out and carry on as if that was correct but she was gone. before she would have gone as soon as I asked for the serp. But one thing on my list to practise is a serp at start as would have been easier for us if we had already been flowing.
Looking forward to working my skills and timing as this is a big part of it now- before it was equal now definitely me

ParticipantHi
am hoping to get the final bits done next week. She is getting so much better all the time- not sure I can say the same for me…
Looking at what to do next- I think max 3 is looking interesting as alot of stuff in there I havent done before in terms of contacts and seasaws.
Wondering whether to audit or handle her (she is only just over eight months or wait until you put the class on again.
I find it hard to stay focused when I only audit but not sure she is ready more complex stuff in max 3. But she continuously surprises me as to how fast she picks up.
When are you likely to rerun max 3.beverley thomson
ParticipantHi
Yes so fast, so fun but opinionated and honest about handler failures.Yes she was more jumoy in these. I think she was much more out of her comfort zone and unsure what I wanted. This was stuff we havent done anything on and she was saying but but … Got less jumpy when she started to understand what I wanted. Also she was quite hyped – not sure why- it was cooler.
I loved that she was working for food- something that is just starting to work. I have been taking her out on a toy but then have trouble with her focusing on where is the toy. We are working on this spearately . At the moment anything that does not involve movement is a struggle- she is like a wide up toy. Again we are working on waits staying on mats separately as otherwise I am trying to manage too many things. She is alot more focused on me too and wanting to offer behaviours I think is producing the bouncing at the start. It is a hurry up whta are we doing. I do like just need to modify it …beverley thomson
ParticipantHi
Thanks
here is our start of week 4.
we strugled with the wrap around I think looking at video I needed to shift eyes more I thought I was but didnt look same in video . I did break this one down as she was not understanding and I dont thin I have done it with her before the wrap away. The away it self she developed an understanding faster when I got it right

ParticipantHi
I went back and reinforced the get the to at the end. Was quite surprised that when I did this training session that she was a bit distracted more so than she had been at my place and wasnt driving to the toy as much as as she had at home. I went back and redid some of the earlier stuff to try and get me and her together a bit more. We are getting less jumping and less intensity as well as tiny waits although not enougn to lead out yet. Jumping up is not very strongly when I am slow or stuff up. I do have a tendency to make the distances too big at moment forget she is little and green.
went to aother friends at weekend and we did tunnel and two wing work and she was so focused.

‘And also the value of the target (I am not sure what it was – am empty bowl or maybe something on it?) was too low – you were saying “get it” and she was saying “get what?”. More ideas on that below.’
the target was a 1l container so was about 3 inch hih and about 6 in square. This is what used for big dogs. This is what i hav been training with – if anything I wondered if it was too high. I did wonder whether a flat target that we used earlierwold be better .. but used higher to make obvious – a couple of times she actually ran into it, I had food on top occasionally but usually have a toy sitting on it.
heres what we have been doing at home with running to a toy on a target.
‘And keep working on getting her to drive to a dead toy (not sure she needs it on a container?) and definitely getting food rewards involved – separately from training, you can get more and more value on the lotus ball and treat hugger with some practice, which will make those easier to use too.’
I thought a container might make it more obvious but happy to drop. as makes it easy
She has plenty of drive to a lotus and pod but as a toy she doesnt care about the treat in the lotus or hugger. The jumping up happens everywhere although generally not with me but with others. with me it does tend to be impatience. I like the idea of a station for her to wait on> i will set this up to train.
Haha will try and slow down I feel as if I have this little bee buzzing that I need to keep up with. I keep realising about my arm being high its me panicing… Never thought I would be trying to keep up with a little speedster this early!!! Never could throw well needs practise.

ParticipantHi
sorry not much internet lately.here was some work on the combos week 1. Again I keep losing her – only little dogs I have run have been slower.
week 2 send stuff sort of
for some reason it decided to film on side
week 2 the wrap around the wing. I struggled here when I got it right so did she.
She has got alot more food focused most of the time so several exercises I did with high high value food. I tried a lotus ball – too much of a princess. Treat hugger worked better but didnt care at all for treat.
I tried going to a dead toy – struggled. I can get her to race to a dead toy but if I put it down even on a container she is too busy looking at me. so need to do alot more work on this. She can see a toy on the ground miles away if it is not being used lol. I do need to keep working on the calmness stuff and waits as thought she was crazy before now uped a level.
Have gone back and reworked and am still doing some of basic handling cue stuff except she gets it so fast and I am still working it out. … so she goes speedy. she doesnt have much patience for a slow handler.I am getting alot of jumping up- especially when she thinks we are going to start work and when I am too slow with rewards. The second I can understand. The intensity of the jumping up i havent seen in my big dogs (I understand why) she jumps high…. is very grabby and nippy. I got rid of this mostly ( pj legs were a prime target) using food scatters. But apart from working the brain games, food scatters, trying to get rewads off me what other type things what else do you do with a tiny princess on springs…..
beverley thomson
ParticipantThanks
Okay must remember to reward for every effort. In all these sessions she blew me away because I looked at the exercises and thought shit we cant do this expectedoe jump or around just the barrel. Next time I can go out and focus on me rather than wondering ifshe can do it. I did do alot more tugging and chasing after the toy than in the videos but edited this stuff out. But will eep it in mind- she believes anything less than many minutes is too short. She is obcessed with toys. I might try securing a toy but she is not as good on a dead toy. I do wonder about a target. She is not food orientated. First couple of months it was a struggle getting her to eat enougn. The list of things she will do for food is growing and what I can use for treats is increasing. Treats all need to be soft, tiny and very tasty. Crumb size treats are hard to throw or toss or even feed. A small dog art I am still learning. I do wonder whether I should try a clicker as it most feels as though she sees the treat as a signal she was right rather than for the intriscienct value of the reat

ParticipantThanks for video of spin. I have now worked it out – took a while as doesnt feel right but fusion i was easier as she wasnt forgiving. I think need to develop more as works well with her. I have run the odd small dog but generally they were slowish not like In Synch
heres vdeos
straight
did a little at home but not enougn room then went to robyns. a few mistakes from her as this is new to her. I wasnt sure what she would do so focused on her now have to get me right
here video of my confusion with crosses will redo when I have got me right on the spin
I am notsure what you call se of these turns.
beverley thomson
ParticipantHi
Yes she has a lot of the pap in her she has strong opinions… she bosses all the day care dogs and rushes thru life like an energster bunny on steroids
Now i am being thick but can you post a detailed slow motion of the spin it is doing my head in.
Ps in synch shocked me with how well she did apart from time needed to kill the toy at the end and the disapproval of holding the collar. I havent done very much so far apart from teaching a little on wrap and a single set wings. She said i got this get out of my eay.I on the other hand was a mess trying to keep eyes on tjis tiny speedster.
Will post video later
Beverley
Ps we miss you alot and need you back.
