ParticipantGood afternoon,
Today went really well! I had Paul take a video of the reset, the way it was supposed to be, #4. Perfect! Earlier we went out for a tool around the yard with some cheese and did some just walk and, “get it”, focus walking. She was into that, and had no incentive to even run. A couple hours later, when Paul got home we went out to train. I’m not sure if it was the much better, smoother set up, but it was great, as you can see. Paul said, “she laminated overnight” 🤣
We set up #5, and after a couple tries, one I got lost 🙄 and one she stopped to sniff the, now new, #9 cone. I’d just marked 9 and 10. This video was the last go, which was pretty good. Oddly, she was as into the cheese, which I seldom use much, than “tiny ball”.
I was a bit breathless on that last run. She is working really well. Today was really a good day. These sequences have been really what we both need. Paul runs them with Chitlin too, helping them both. When I’m still motivated, I run Biscuit too, and realize how much I’m looking forward to trialing with Kishka. For now, it’s Biscuit ☺️bitterblue1954
ParticipantGood morning,
On the set up with the #1 jump. I just checked my print out, no wonder it was so hard! Doh! We did finally get it, Paul with Chitlin, who is slower and more experienced, did well on it, and a good exercise for them as they are seeing more complicated courses in L3. Today, before we reset for #5 sequence, I will set the #4 up the way you had it. I bet this will go much better! Later…
Thanks!bitterblue1954
ParticipantGood day!
So a couple things here. No pre agility training run. A bit of tug, some tricks (Paul didn’t get much of this before each run). She was pretty cool. Though I might be over stepping my time limit here, I’m including three videos of #4. Let me add, the last 2 were after doing this about 10 times. My dogs do fine with lots of repetitive stuff, and most have for quite a few generations. It tends to be the way I train. As you see in the last one, she was even perkier and focused than the first ones. We had quite a few 1,2,3,6…tunnel! I eventually broke it down to 2,3,4, a couple times. That was her, “ahhhh”, moment ☺️ Yeah, it got warm for us both, I started with a flannel shirt. All in all, about 15 minutes of total work.
I was happy with her final effort. She loves her tunnel.bitterblue1954
ParticipantGood morning!
Yes! This all makes sense, especially on the #1. No video, but we worked this yesterday and after getting my timing and placement sorted out, it worked perfectly! I wish Paul had gotten video. Super smooth. Distance from the first jump was helpful on the next ones. Today we will work on #4. Video later.
The other thing that helped, but won’t work in a trial setting, I took her out to run about an hour before any training. She was more focused and ready to work. I’m hope age will help. Plus learning that agility is just as much fun as playing fetch.bitterblue1954
ParticipantToday we set up the course for the opening sequences. Since we had a decent break in the weather I opted to run three of them.
I added of of my screw ups too, because even though I sent her the wrong way on the jump, it looked pretty good.
Actually this was the wrong one,
She got a bit better, not surprisingly, as went continued. She is still pretty wild when I first take her out, but she does settle. She is, after all, a 14 month old dog who wants to run!bitterblue1954
ParticipantOh! I forgot our hand touches. I call that, “blink!” She loves that. I’ll also add, we didn’t video the treat drop, and treat on the foot games. We did this extensively in those months she had to stay on lead, and it was a game we played every day. Bits of Control Unleashed.

ParticipantHere is our little trick video. It’s a bit tight in here for backing. She just learned the leg weaving bit the other day, so a bit silly.
bitterblue1954
ParticipantOkay. On to some sequencing. We had some good moments, and some awkward ones. Like a few misplaced verbals! Ah well, she is mostly following my random cues. I need to be clearer, yes. Like I always tell people, I breed good dogs, I’m not a great trainer.
Teeter training went great this morning! Chitlin is also back to working well for Paul, which makes me happy 😃

ParticipantGood morning,
So, onward to the forced FC and Threadle into. I had to walk through this several times before I was getting. Yeah, my handling is the weakest part of the team. I can train her to do most stuff if *I* get the concept! I went back to food, as she wasn’t focused as she should have been when I had a toy. But it finally went as planned, though not as smooth as it should be, but we both got the concept! I’ll try to do some of the sequencing ones later. If it doesn’t rain.
Let me know if I got this right!bitterblue1954
ParticipantI’ll add, contact games on the Cato plank, plus on the regular DW at her class, as well as teeter and AFrame here, are pretty good. Actually, today after we did the teeter and I walked back to repeat it, she offered a 2o2o at starting end ☺️

ParticipantGreetings!
Yes, we are still training here. Just not getting many videos. Plus we got a bit behind with with the weather being bad and other things. Anyway… These videos are actually from the #1 section of week 8. We a a couple screwups, but mostly on my end (of course). We also had to rush a bit as we were both getting hot and a thunderstorm was rumbling in the distance. She is working well! Still on very low jumps, I have no plans for much more anytime soon. We are up to 4 poles on our weaves! Those were started months ago with 2x2s in the kitchen. Here are the videos of the session. Oh, the angled jump grid was a breeze! No vid.
After getting it wrong on the second one a couple times, I went back to your explanation and video. That helped!bitterblue1954
ParticipantHey!
That was extra fun! No video, but it went perfectly and was fun for us both ☺️ Though she is already pretty solid on 2o2o, this will solidify it further. Yay!bitterblue1954
ParticipantHi again,
I watched the lazy target/contact video again. I think Kishka will have fun with this, and maybe solidify the 2o2o behavior. I’ll use my Cato board and start playing at this. I think I’ll even work Mr.”What AFrame contact?”, Biscuit on it in a valiant effort to retrain him. Good inside stuff!bitterblue1954
ParticipantHi,
Yes! I get that. I’m thinking we can set our small DW up at the low height and revisit some targeting. I saved a small, low, box that I can put her pot holder in. I will rewatch your lazy target game too, as that would be a good kitchen game. It’s so brutally hot and humid ☹️ They all had some quick exercise, but none of us wants to train right now. Though I’m sure Kishka would be fine with it! Thanks!bitterblue1954
ParticipantGood rainy Morning,
We have lots of catching up to do on our wing games! Hopefully weather and available time will help with that this week. Otoh, we kind of have moved on over the months from the week 5 lazy contact game. Since we did lots of contact work as she was healing during the winter and spring. So I thought I’d send along videos. We are on our last two in person puppy make up class. She is getting better with working with other dogs and people around. She works happily for a solid 30 minutes on various things. Her teeter training is staying home though. This week was her first time at a higher setting and outside.
