There is definite improvement with time. It seems as though Tanner as some environment sensitivities that could have influence his progress with the teeter. What do you think about this possibility?

    Welcome Diane!

If your husband can build anything, let’s take advantage! Lol! Do you have a mini-teeter? One where the board is 3-4 feet in length.

If he can build a small teeter too, there are DIY sites dedicated to this. 🙂

    Hi Mary! Welcome back!

I am so happy to see your progress! Amazing! And what a celebration at the trial!! Definitely made him feel good!

Can you post more videos of Tanner at the club, both running sequences, hanging out, and the teeter?

Jessica is my instructor too! I am lucky to be able to work with her weekly!

The same thing happened to my dog Marvel when we were on a teeter that was super light. He flew off and it took time for him to gain his confidence back on all teeters. These games will help! Welcome to the class!

    Hello Fei! Welcome!

The background is very helpful. Thank you!

For now, I would like for you to stop doing classes at trials that include the teeter. Zoe knows she gets amazing treats on the teeter, and she wants them, but she is still so nervous about the whole experience. I would like to build more enthusiasm for the teeter–and that comes with confidence. How do you feel about no longer practicing the teeter unless playing the games I present in this course? At least for the next few months.

    Hi Tracy!

Welcome! We have lots of games to continue building her confidence on the teeter. For now, I can tell you that you should increase the support so the tip is even smaller, to practically non-existent. Make sense?

    Hi Kerri! Welcome!

Are you an auditor or a working student in this course?

Hooray!! I am so excited for you guys!! Congratulations on the title!!! Tracy told me. 🙂

Sorry to hear she was worried in the RV! She is clearly a sensitive girl.

    Shadow Handling video:
Even though Maddy did it, did you notice her body language? Her ears are pinned back and she looked around a few times instead of just focusing on Matt. This was especially the case when she walked by the barking, white dog. For now, I would keep Shadow Handling at competitions, but not in the mix of things. Give her a few months of Shadow Handling on the fringes of the activity.

    Pattern Games video:
Watch her ears. You can see when something in the environment is triggering her, even if ever so slightly. It’s just something to be aware of. In general, her body language seems looser, which is a good thing. This is because you are playing these familiar games away from the fray. Keep doing this! 🙂

    Mat work:
This is a great exercise to do before her runs. She needs that time to settle herself mentally and emotionally before her run. Keep doing this and let’s see how she evolves. You can see her ears again. They pinned back when that other dog walked near you guys. And they pin back at certain pitches of barking. I still think giving her breaks by crating in your car will help her. Try doing this while you can, considering the weather.

    Debut video:
She’s so happy after her run!!! Hooray!!!

I’m super excited for you guys!

Wow! That is an amazing observation! And it’s true–giving a dog time to acclimate at THEIR pace is such an important part of doing any performance sport.

I’m glad Lit’l Bit ended up feeling okay. I wonder if she had a stiff back or sore muscle and just needed time to loosen up.

I’m really happy to hear you enjoyed the course!! 🙂
