The only things besides food that he likes in his mouth and tug on is an old sock. He has a toy that has a couple cow hooves hanging on it that he will drag out of the toy box and go chew on.

    Hi Tracy,
Attached are videos of my dogs doing regular and exit line connection.
I’m sending videos for Dash https://vimeo.com/466775298
    Lily https://vimeo.com/466775558 and https://vimeo.com/466775680
    Pearl https://vimeo.com/466776210
I have to tell you that I had only watched the first section of the first session, (regular connection) prior to doing these. A friend was helping and instructing me what came next.
After watching the whole sessions of both seminars, I see many places for improvement. After your feedback I will make another attempt and do more courses, especially the ones with a water bottle. 🙂 Can’t wait…
Let me know it this is too much for you to review, (3 dogs).
    Thanks,
    Sherry

    Hi Tracy,
Finally I have a little something to share. I’ve been at a couple trials and didn’t have equipment for setups (or a fenced area to work in).
Yesterday I took Dottie out and videoed her doing her lefts and rights around 3 wings with bars. After I watched it I saw a few things I should do differently but then you wouldn’t have anything to write (haha).
I’m really enjoying the class and am looking forward to each one. https://vimeo.com/466776577

    Hi again,
Instead of YouTube can I use Vimeo, I would still share the url to the video?
Just asking cuz I know how to do that one and I’m not sure about YouTube.

    Hi Tracy,
I was watching the videos on jumps before tunnels and would like to know if this same setup could be used for dogs that continually knock the first jump on a course?

    Hi Tracy,
I was watching your training videos about threadles and saw that you began with the opposite arm as the important indicator along with the verbal of course. When I watched the last one (got remote) the opposite arm is not mentioned, only the come to hand indicator. In the first one you mentioned that both arms are used but that the opposite arm gets the better response.
Overall, are you meaning that you should train each arm for each use and then use the preferable one for the situation? The opposite arm would be used when you need more extreme connection for a difficult threadle and the open side arm would be used with more casual connection or an easier threadle for the dog to perform. Please give me your thoughts of this subject.
    Thanks,
    Sherry

    Hi Tracy,
Thanks for the info, that makes perfect sense. That is what I tried this morning. She remembered the nose touch in strike the pose so I went to Part 2 and she did great. I have found a toy (a long soft braided rope..ish that’s tied to a holy roller) that she really likes to chase. After the treat toss for starting position, she came right to the hand (nose touch object) and then ran for the toy. It was cute. This toy also helped her figure out to go all the way around the barrel and chase me and the toy. I feel so much better now. She is pretty young still (15 weeks) but she is staying engaged for awhile.
I’ll keep you up to date.

    Hi Tracy,
The classes this week are really making progress. I have one question though. In my past experience, I’ve been taught things, skills, short courses that use these skills etc. Well, I work on them. Train the skills and keep trying to remember to keep touching up these skills so they don’t go away.
Well Dottie did the early skills with the focus forward, touch the prop, send to the prop, send and have counter motion from the prop etc. well, she seemed like she was really having fun. But I don’t have enough puppy left to do the newer skills, so my question is how much do I have to remind her of these early skills or do I jump into the newer games and expect she knows the older ones as they are just building blocks and don’t have to play those unless of course there is something that comes up and she needs a reminder?
Long question, sorry, but I feel like there is too much to cover if we start at the beginning each time. I think I’ve answered my own question.

    Hi Tracy,
I’m really enjoying playing these games with Dottie.
I think I’d like to change my course from auditing to a working online spot if there are any available. I’d really like your comments about our progress. She is almost 13 weeks but seems to pick up on the games ok.
    Thanks,
    Sherry

    Hi Tracy,
I’d like to show the picture of my three corgis on this page but don’t know how to change unless I use more than one email address.
Anyway, you don’t know you need to train something until it doesn’t work like you think it should. My dogs all know the backside slice, however, they don’t know how to slice while I am proceeding onward on the course. I get that I will watch for the dogs head turn, then I am guessing that you would throw a cookie toy or toy behind you while you pass the wing and the dog takes the jump. The progression in my mind would be to get along further and the toy would be thrown still behind you and on the dogs line. I hope that makes sense to you.
    Thanks,
    Sherry

    Hi Tracy,
I hope you had a great holiday!
I played with the masters courses with Dash last Thursday and found that he could do all three of the possibilities came together at about the same speed and with the same connection. Dash is not that fast and allows me to get ahead and have time to give the cues timely. Lily is out of commission for a couple weeks as she just had surgery. I don’t believe she would make it as easy as she is much faster and much more thoughtful. Pearl is still pretty young and she only did the novice courses with success.
I did realize that my lefts and rights and wraps are not as dependable at the end of the tunnel as they are over a jump. They need more work.
On another subject, I got a new puppy, she is almost 11 weeks and I am putting her in your puppy class. And guess what? It’s a corgi.
    This is so fun!
