Goat 2. I used a collapsed x-pen on top of a wool blanket to make it a little unstable. He was very brave and was trying really hard for a first attempt. I don’t know if I was moving enough or too fast?Christine Pomicter

Our restrained recalls with people distractions.
If I could get myself together, I think he would do better. Having said that, he is very good at his recalls for the most part. I never had any problems with him coming to me immediately and I make it a point to reward every time he comes to me. Yesterday was the first time he decided that I wasn’t going to be listened to when we were out in the back field walking. I called, ran the other way, waved my arms, did everything I could think of to get him to come to me. Ended up walking back towards him, finally getting his attention and called him again. When he came to me I had a total party! He was better after that, but tried it a second time. That time though, it didn’t take as much for him to come running. And yes, I rewarded heavily again. I knew at some point that he might start that, but I was really hoping that we would just skip over that part😉🤣. I am making sure I reward each time he comes to me, even if he’s just “ checking in”.Christine Pomicter

Leg bumps. He certainly doesn’t “bounce “ but he is able to navigate.Christine Pomicter

Our perch work with the jump bump.
I feel that I started well with cueing, but for some reason, fell apart for a minute there. I don’t know why with this I feel like I rush it too much. And, that seemed to be the census with the others there today. They told me a couple times to slow down. I know that’s my hang up, and I certainly need to keep working on trying to remember that. I just don’t want to make it harder or worse for Luke. He really likes doing this and I want to keep making it fun for him.Christine Pomicter

Foot work with a little distance and sends.
Overall, I was very pleased with this. He confused my sends a little with “set up”! We’ve been working on the set up, and he obviously is pleased to offer it up! 🤣😆Christine Pomicter

I was practicing again tonight with the clicker sits. While I was doing them, Luke started to orient himself around into a heel position! Is that supposed to happen? Or was that just a wonderful coincidence? I was so surprised, I had my husband record it. I was beginning to think when he started the recording that it had just been a fluke while I was practicing before that. But, he started doing it again, so, nope! Not a fluke🤣😃😃😃Christine Pomicter

ParticipantThank you sooo much! All good things to think about and try! And, reinforcing what I thought about where I blew it! So at least I’m catching on there. Of course, it’s always after I do it that I realize what I did wrong☹️. I don’t know how many times I’ve told myself how I’ve broke my dog by doing xyz…. and yet, he seems to keep going ok! Thank goodness 😆. Will be finishing up with help( those partners in crime)😀 on Wednesday. Can’t wait to see the next session!

I must say that after reading through the instructions for this and watching your video I was not convinced that this would happen easily! I was shocked, but Luke actually did it! And it was like he had just done this all the time! He couldn’t understand why I was praising him so much after he did it! Lol!
I did this obviously in the house since it’s dark and there’s a slushy mess in the front yard. I will have to try it outside when the weather is better! Or, maybe I can try it at Christine’s place next week. More distractions!😆Christine Pomicter

Just to see what would happen, I decided to try the perch work with his back feet.
I was pleasantly surprised that he started offering it pretty quick! I wasn’t sure that he would even try it and just keep using front feet. I’m very pleased with that! Especially since I just thought about it after doing the regular perch!Christine Pomicter

This is our perch work. He’s been working on this a while so he is pretty comfortable doing it. I think that I may take too long to release him, for another set up?Christine Pomicter

Clicker sits.
I really liked this game! They do catch on fast! I blew it a bit, because I didn’t say “get it”, I was quiet☹️
So, if I need to resubmit, please let me know. I am practicing still at night with him, so I could redo if needed.Christine Pomicter

Here’s our obstacles. He has no problems going onto or over anything. (So far) .
We take him for walks around our property and he has no problems with different things under his feet. He goes through tall grass, wooded areas, climbs old stone walls. So this was a piece of cake😁. And, I’m handing out cookies, which of course makes it worth while for him😆Christine Pomicter

Second try at blind cross. I think it was much better. I had better connection with Luke.Christine Pomicter

First “try” on the blind cross. I don’t think I was looking at him and lost my connection so it wasn’t very good. -
