So as you can tell we took this session on the road to SOTC. First time there since last winter. My main focus was keeping her engaged and happy. She had besties there as well doing obedience homework ( bleh) but she handled it super.

I tried SO hard to be in the right place and off her line for those last BC and watched later from my perfect camera angle to see me in her way; lol!!
I need to do more of them, both sides.

We worked more on that last backside, she’s pretty good in slo mo and she’s better on my left cuz I’ve worked that side more😳
Am I right that our physical cues are similar for out and backside so our verbals are what is helping them differentiate? I feel like she did the one I needed her to do and was it also where I was giving those cues?

For some reason we really struggled with getting to the correct end of the tunnel the 2nd time around. It should not have been that difficult 🙂 Then I know I totally over compensated and really pushed into her line. Then I kinda forgot about it as we went on and it wasn’t an issue any more.
Disclaimer – we had family in the bldg for Halloween pizza so there may be comments heard in the background – LOL!!!

As I was leaving to finish up my homework for week 2, I got your email so I sat in the driveway and read it several times. It was perfect timing and just what I needed. I appreciate your honesty.
I was not aware I wasn’t rewarding her enough and I realized that again, during class and the few seminars she is getting rewarded for everything because I’m working harder to keep her with me (miss social butterfly).
When we train alone, I’m trying to get her away from me – LOL!!!!
I had more of a class mentality today which translated to lots more rewards and a much calmer Josie.

I’m having a hard time not crossing my arm over for the fc/wraps. Old habits are sometimes hard to break in the heat of the moment!!

We’ve been working the stay and yes she broke that 2nd sequence so we took a break and reinforced some. She’s going to keep pushing it, I know.
This is a longer video than I’d normally submit, but I left in some behavior I’d like your input on. She was jacked and jumping up and barking about 2 inches from my face. This is not normal, she had Ti outside barking and at class I would normally be using food to keep her with me from socializing. This could potentially be trial behavior😳
My instinct is to collar grab time out, I can’t. She has always scooted away from me.

Any other suggestions to work the stay?

Should I pull out the food to keep her next to me in between reps so she’s not jumping up, barking telling me I’m stupid?

There was only 1 “oh shit” moment when I was in her way on the serp and she was coming anyways!!

My takeaway – “you were connecting too much” – LOL!!!!!
It does all make sense, and yes I do believe she will let me cue and leave sooner so thank you for continuing to remind me of that.
    Thanks Tracy.

Looks like Josie and I are done with CAMP. I’m so bummed. Everything was going so well, until it wasn’t. Her leg is now infected so we’re back in the GSD sized cone with donut collar so the sore can breathe and I can keep her off it. It’s a 24/7 job and it’s exhausting!!!
That determination and problem solving that makes her a great training partner is not as much fun in home life- LOL.

Good morning! I kinda cheated and did some walk thru’s when I set up the course earlier this week. I liked the handling plan that I walked, but a few times was out of position. backsides are hard right now at full speed plus I don’t have any wings outside which probably changes the picture for her. A few times I did stop and reward especially right in the beginning when she saved my butt and started around the jump before the tunnel and was like wait there’s a jump right there I bet I should take that.

We’re almost there, will be jumping by this weekend. I don’t know where to start back with this course? Help. When does it end? I haven’t done any of package 4 and now have package 5. I did finish up #3 with Ti on the novice courses, need to get that submitted. Want to finish up with Josie or at least do as much as I can while spreading it out to 2 max 3 sessions per week.

Not sure how she sprained the toe, but did it outside at home (I was with her). Came inside, was fine till she took a nap and woke up on 3 legs. We get the soft bandage off tomorrow and get our “back to normal” schedule. Full on agility will be a little ways off but will be able to gradually work some in, maybe I can do some of the skills. Hoping to get week 3 courses done with Ti this week then I can move on to week 4 which looks fun!!

I’m back – kinda. I did some of the skills for week 3 before the toe incident and then finally got a chance this morning to do some of the week 3 sequences with Ti. I have spent the last 7 days keeping someone from chewing on their bandage (and I have another 6 to go!!!!) – LOL!!!
Bummed that I’ll miss so much of CAMP with her.

I forgot Josie did a 2nd course, but we had Donna tape it cuz my phone was acting weird. It was hard to get the serp line while having to somewhat babysit the backside coming out of the tunnel.
Same with the skills for week 3, the backsides are going ok as long as I walk out of them or walk into them and sometimes both.

I did Novice courses with both of them this time. Plus I figured out if I’m there alone (with Ti) I can put my ipad on top of the fridge and get most of the ring- LOL!!
I’m learning Ti just doesn’t have the commitment that Josie has. I should do some overlay between them and see how my handling differs ( I see more arms with Ti?). I’ve been running her so much it’s becoming way more comfy for me 🙂 Who knew the cray cray one would become comfy.
Oh and yes group training again yesterday – apologizes for anything you might over hear. We never stop talking-LOL!

We took a little break to learn how to swim and now we’re back !!!
    Novice skill sets and sequences.
