I think we need to spend more time on distracted go’s!!

I would love to experiment with running contacts, but not with her!! Maybe Ti:)
For now, she will be stopping on all of them.

This is longer than it needed to be for shaping wings, but I wanted to show you some play. She does not like my hands on her when she’s tugging. She also is a not a die hard tugger. If she’s tugging and we go to the leave the ring, she will just drop the toy. Or when we do recalls, she’ll be tugging hard and as we get back closer to the holder, she’ll drop the toy. I tried really hard in this session to stay engaged with her. I did lose her a few times, but got her right back. She LOVES tugging on the smallest things possible and often gets my hand when she’s regripping. Even when I use the 10′ long tug, she jumps up to get the piece that’s in my hand. Ugh. I’ve taken multiple ones for the team to get the tug drive, but geesh! The one time she backed off the ball was because I yelped.
I’m also trying not to bend over her and have her tug in front of me. Sometimes physically that’s how I end up though. When I can get her on my side, I get the diggin in kind of tug.

She’s the best toy dog at this age that I’ve had. I really like how she can go back and forth between food/toy. I just wish I could get more on the toy around distractions. Last night I opened up the ring gating and tugged her in and out and kept her tugging along the crates. She will typically drop the tug around the ring gating and just run to her crate. I’m trying to reprogram that thinking for her and especially me.

I’ve been doing some sends to target, but hadn’t done much with opposing motion.
We’re still struggling with the collar grab in certain situations like in training. So just taking it slow to work the focus forward. I said the word yes which I shouldn’t have. It’s a marker word. I also waited too long which is so obvious with the camera staring at her face😁this was our first time playing this.

Sorry about the background barking. Ti is certain he can do these things way better than her.

These are the last few from Josie and I.

I wanted to throw in more clicker stays with some release forwards. I can see her releasing on the click, should I start weaning off the click and use my release to come forward and a get it if I throw the reward back to her?
I also did some dual training which is very important to me. I’d like some ideas getting her to just hang while agility is going on. A switch went off a few weeks ago and she’s super aroused by it now. If I’m asking for a task, perch, back up etc she can work with it going on. She just can’t hang.

We’re back. Hoping to get caught up and back on track before #2 starts.
What are the next steps for clicker sits? Do I proof it more before I start releasing forward?

For the shaping I’d like her to do a foot on each pod. This was our first attempt at it.
Am I being too picky on the choice game? I don’t want her reaching forward to get the treat from me.

    Happy Thanksgiving Tracy.
    Thanks for the great ideas.

A running dogwalk? hahahaha, you’re so funny!!!

    My resilience homework:

Different locations – walks into any new place pulling and wanting to walk on 2 legs, sees a person? goes nuts to go see them. I’m making a conscious effort to keep her from jumping (another hahaha) and she will cry she’s so excited.
It’s really hard to get her to do anything but sit for a split second in this mental state. If we are going in a store, I can’t get much focus at all out of her.

If it’s an agility trial, I find it best to put her in her crate and she’ll immediately settle. After that she is much more thoughtful when she comes out. She does like to chew/lick in those instances, so I’ll being a kong for her.

She’s less exuberant about other dogs. Still wants to go see them, but if I distract her or ask for a behavior she’s totally fine just hanging with me. When she does meet a new dog she seems to read them well. Only gets super excited and starts jumping around if they are ok with her doing that. She has never jumped on someone’s head and had them want to eat her. (good girl)

I have not had any noises yet bother her. She may startle, but not run and will often go to the source if she can to check it out.
For the most part, she’s not much into physical touch. One time she fell asleep with her head on my lap. (One time….)
One of the things that still concerns her is if Ti alarm barks about something. If we are out back and he runs towards the fence barking like that, she will run to me and sometimes stand between my legs. I have rewarded this behavior and will give her a treat for coming to me. Once he stops barking, she goes right back to him. If he’s just barking because he’s excited about something, it doesn’t phase her.
She does like to sniff outside. She’s perfectly content to wander off by herself and explore as well, much to my dismay. I wish she were a little more concerned about where I was.

She gets spooked at night by people. If they start talking to her, she is totally fine. Had one couple walk by with flashlights and she thought it was the boogie man so I started talking to them to get them to talk and as soon as they started talking, she wanted to go see them. So when she realizes these big dark objects are actually people, she is ok with them.

Week 1 and we are showing you what we’d ask for help on.
She’s not a die hard tugger, but I’m hoping to get there. I have my best luck when I take the tug and run away with it, I get bit but she latches on.
She did good though breaking for a trick and treat and going back to tug.
Toy races are going well except for the toy return! You could see when I went to reach for her collar she wants to move away. This seems to be situational.
Tug sit tug, she wants to down so I’m trying to release quick. Just getting a few seconds is a Victory.
