I should have edited more out of the beginning. Lot of reps of the same thing, she seems pretty happy to do the threadly backside – with me standing still that is.
I’m finding it harder to do shorter sequences with her and have her not get so sassy about doing things over even it it’s to try it a different way. She gets rewarded for all her efforts and we had several breaks where she ran around with her toy. She will re do anything and will just keep going till she drops which makes it hard for me to just stop after a set period of time. We both want to keep going, but she spirals and when it’s hot especially I worry cuz I can’t get her to settle back down and regroup.
i feel like a lot of this is rushed just to get it done when I’d rather be taking my time to work it through. So maybe next time I’ll just focus on 1 sequence or 1 course.

I went back and tried to tighten up some lines. I thought the BC created a nice line at the end of seq #2 instead of the “close/threadle” to get the correct end of the tunnel even though the bar was down. I felt like she read the turn well.
Sequence #3 was going well until I forgot I needed to do a cross when she came out of the tunnel the 2nd time. I am using my verbal turn cue before she goes in. I could try a physical cue as well since she still seems to be blasting out.

We got the other two sequences done today, I was quite happy with her first try on both.
I haven’t done many in’s lately so need to build the value on them again. She knew to come to my side, just got stuck on the take the jump part.
Teeter was amazing at sotc last weekend. Thought she might bounce off one she was going so fast but she rocked back and stuck on.
I do need to work on entering the ring, she is higher than a kite once she sees the dog running before us. Wondering if teaching her to tug on leash will help, but tugging really elevates her.

Ok, so I’m an idiot🤪 and taped on slo mo. Don’t know if I can speed it up? Or can you still watch and not have it be painful?
I mean, I think some of it is super cool BUT….
We play the attention game and the motion game quite a bit cuz she needs them😁 I’ve never played the motion game with “back” and was so impressed I got some steps from her as I was moving away. So looking for feedback on them for the stage we’re at.
I wanted to get in one run of a sequence, but not sure when I’ll get back to it. Sotc 3 day trial this weekend. I was pretty happy with our first time through. Watching in slo mo showed me where I could improve and cue and move sooner.

We can touch the teeter in AKC now as well even if it’s not an FEO run. When I went to Erie I led out and did the elevator game in FAST ( then tugged) and then I did it again in STD ( no toy) which turned it into a fix n go run.
By day 2 I went to help again and she didn’t need me, banged it right down on her own which at this point leads me to believe my hand on the teeter was more beneficial to her than just tugging which I’d done previously.
We have our trial at sotc next weekend so I’ll make several more trips there before then and my first class with the teeter is FAST so tuggie toy allowed. If akc hadn’t changed their rules I would be traveling for training for sure.
Back to my sequences, I’m going to work on those rears to the wall for sure!! There was one in my jww course I want to get.
Good idea on the weaves, I’ll bring out some 2×2 and open them up. Just enough for her to be pretty straight?

Here are a few jww courses. The jumps were moved a bit so I changed up some things in the one course. As before, assume all verbals are correct and turn off sound. I tortured myself and left my cheerleaders inside with us😲

We got a chance to do a few of the sequences yesterday. We went to SOTC to work the teeter which is a clip n go and MUCH different than my Max 200. She really struggled with it a few weeks back when we went to Indiana because they had one. Let me say, I would not consider her ring ready to make that kind of trip just for an agility trial. But is was for family and it was fun to trial with both of my sisters and their dogs!! She was a rock star and did really well despite her thinking that teeter may eat her.
Anyways, when I got home I went back through my teeter notes (hope it’s ok to discuss this here) and thought those last few mountain climber games may help. So I have called her on to the teeter while holding it in the air or letting it drop to random heights then 3,2,1 “touch”. It brought her confidence back almost immediately. I also used the treat and train yesterday to get some distance once we’d done it a few times. I feel like she’s more confident on it (the clip n go) now than she was before.
I also used the treat n train a few times on the poles. I think when she struggled those few times, I was already ahead of her. I know I need to do more proofing drills, but there’s only so many hours in the day and I’m being diligent about giving her time off from agility too.

Here are my next 2 std courses. I’m just running these once because of time, heat, life ya know😬 hoping to get to some drills and sequences this week.
It’s pretty obvious what weave skill we need to revisit and which one she rocked, LOL. She can go without me, I cannot go with our her!!
Oh and I decided this is more like summer school, not summer camp. These courses are head hurting ( in a good way😊).

I tried to get as much of the course as I could. At the end, you can see our struggle right now, when I try and RC I get a backside😬

I wanted to pop-in and say this class has been amazing. It came at just the right time and while I was SO bummed when we had that setback, you made me realize it was helpful knowledge and it caused me to go back and really build the love.
Her teeter right now is amazing. We’ve been on the road and have tried out several different teeters at different facilities. We used FEO last weekend to just do the teeter and reward. It was good for her to have the opportunity to do it in trial mode. She bounced off a couple times when she got to the bottom, but never hesitated to get right back on. We even had the time to do a few hop-it-up end behaviors. (LOVE FEO) Day #3 it was lovely.

I have to tell you though, we came home from using the SOTC teeter which is really heavy and when I asked her to do mine. She did it, I threw down several treats and she just looked at them and back at me. I realized that was her first non-PB reward on the teeter and she was not very happy about it – LOL!!!

Got it and she will immediately go to 2o2o when we play bang game or any time I say “touch”.

<<<For the downhills, leave the table parallel to the ground for now, and work all the challenges of <<<you running past, crossing, etc. – rewarding LOTS of driving into the end position.

Just so I’m clear, when you say “driving into end position”, do you mean taking away the teach it and letting her go from 20″ table to the ground when she can do it? Or just driving to the PB on the teach it?

in reply to: Christine and Aussie Josie (audit) #19907

We started with 20″table so teeter was parallel and have gone downhill from there. We are a few inches from the ground. Next I should go to 16″ table to start? and then 12″?
I dare say, if I could carry a jar of PB on course with me, she would do a full teeter – LOL!!!!
    She is a bit obsessed.
When we were done, I took the teach-it away and she got back on the table before I could stop her and was coming across so I just played it cool and she dropped it to the ground. I said touch, she went in to 2o2o and got a big lick of PB.

We have made SO much progress in these last few weeks. It’s so hard to just do a few minutes every day cuz she’s rockin it and I want to keep going.
She is doing the uphill climb with it going down to parallel and she’s doing the bang game with it near parallel and going nicely into 2o2o.
I haven’t done any table to table (downhills) since I started the mountain climbers so I should probably get those going again. I’m skeptically optimistic that she’s getting it now. She’s driving to the end, I’m using PB every time so I can move about and I know she’ll stay till I get back to her.

in reply to: Christine and Aussie Josie (audit) #18589

Josie is getting a bit cocky with the mountain climbers. She runs up, grabs cheese turns around, jumps down and positions herself to go again. We’re trying to get a handle on that, LOL!! Seriously though, our drop yesterday was about 2 inches and she is driving to the end consistently each time.

What are your thoughts on 4on for the teeter behavior? Her “touch” is pretty solid on AF, DW so that may end up being her default anyways, but i kind of liked the idea of her riding it down and sticking there instead of going to 2o2o.

We did a few reps yesterday and after the first one, she realized the board wasn’t going to move and was happily running back to start it again. I stayed at the top each time so she didn’t get any ideas about exiting. I’m thinking PB may be good, it’ll keep her busy licking while I’m getting a bit from her.
