<<<For the downhills, leave the table parallel to the ground for now, and work all the challenges of <<<you running past, crossing, etc. – rewarding LOTS of driving into the end position.

Just so I’m clear, when you say “driving into end position”, do you mean taking away the teach it and letting her go from 20″ table to the ground when she can do it? Or just driving to the PB on the teach it?

We started with 20″table so teeter was parallel and have gone downhill from there. We are a few inches from the ground. Next I should go to 16″ table to start? and then 12″?
I dare say, if I could carry a jar of PB on course with me, she would do a full teeter – LOL!!!!
    She is a bit obsessed.
When we were done, I took the teach-it away and she got back on the table before I could stop her and was coming across so I just played it cool and she dropped it to the ground. I said touch, she went in to 2o2o and got a big lick of PB.

We have made SO much progress in these last few weeks. It’s so hard to just do a few minutes every day cuz she’s rockin it and I want to keep going.
She is doing the uphill climb with it going down to parallel and she’s doing the bang game with it near parallel and going nicely into 2o2o.
I haven’t done any table to table (downhills) since I started the mountain climbers so I should probably get those going again. I’m skeptically optimistic that she’s getting it now. She’s driving to the end, I’m using PB every time so I can move about and I know she’ll stay till I get back to her.

Josie is getting a bit cocky with the mountain climbers. She runs up, grabs cheese turns around, jumps down and positions herself to go again. We’re trying to get a handle on that, LOL!! Seriously though, our drop yesterday was about 2 inches and she is driving to the end consistently each time.

What are your thoughts on 4on for the teeter behavior? Her “touch” is pretty solid on AF, DW so that may end up being her default anyways, but i kind of liked the idea of her riding it down and sticking there instead of going to 2o2o.

We did a few reps yesterday and after the first one, she realized the board wasn’t going to move and was happily running back to start it again. I stayed at the top each time so she didn’t get any ideas about exiting. I’m thinking PB may be good, it’ll keep her busy licking while I’m getting a bit from her.

I was referring to mountain climbers. So start at full height? That sounds incredible scary to me. I will probably need to keep my hand in her collar and food at her mouth to keep her from bailing.

My “teach-it” is coming. I’ve watched the video a few times but want to be clear where I should start. With it on the lowest setting? Then when she’s super comfy move up from there?

Thank you, your reply is making me feel a lot better. She has not done mountain climbers. It’s just not something I had done before so it’s a new concept for me. Honestly I’m scared to do them with her.
She has jumped off the almost top of the AF way early on and has had a few episodes of becoming almost paralyzed on the DW after running it successfully for weeks. I have not pushed her ( I swear) and I can tell there is something going on that is preventing her from getting real confidence on the contact obstacles. I will think she’s there and will ask for a little more and we go backwards. So we go back and build confidence again. So, I will put on my big girl panties ( and hope hers are on as well) and tackle mountain climbers.

These were super fun, especially the box. I think I did what I was supposed to, but she pretty much did what I asked her to on each one. We started and ended with a go, even though they weren’t recorded.

Should my body position be the same for serp and threadle? The only difference being my verbal? I’m picturing this scenario in the middle of a course and see myself traveling across the plane of the jump looking the same to her. In slo mo she seems to get the difference, but when we go live and she speeds up will she get it?

This should get me caught up through week 3. I don’t have a “L” “R”, I need to so will get to them when I have more time. I love these drills, especially the serp. threadle, tunnel one. She was awesome on my left, but struggled more on my right so we need to do more of that. I tried using the contact board for discrim and she just doesn’t get running away from me on it. In the training I did on it, I was lateral or ahead. I’m wondering though about the plank to table that I’ll be using for entries? I could put that next to tunnel and work the discrim that way. What should they do at the top of the table? jump off for treat? place reward there for them to stop?

We did the wrap drill a few days earlier at sotc, she couldn’t do it. Was so high, and I was using a toy which puts her at an even higher level. We need to do that more.

You may not see this now, but wanted to say THANK YOU!!! Josie and I have had a blast doing so much with you in the last year. Don’t know what I would have done without my AU courses during lockdown too. They definitely kept me motivated to do something.
Really hoping we can do something in person with you in 2021.
    Stay safe and here’s to a better 2021 🙂

Despite some struggles, this session felt good and Ti made a guest appearance.

I’m going to go back and revisit the one where she was coming in over the jump on the BC instead of staying out. I think it was the 2nd sequence.

Let’s just say sending to the backside and then blinding was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do with her in those last few sequences. I think I did it like 5x to make sure she knew where she was going then I couldn’t do anything else but a full post turn on the next jump, my brain couldn’t handle it !!

I’m planning to do the last sequence this week, she has class today so didn’t want to do too much yesterday.
