Really haven’t done much because of the Invitational etc. But here is class from last Friday. I wrapped her feet for the first time. I didn’t get her first turn on video because I forgot to press play. But here are the second and third turns. I wrapped her front feet only for her first turn. For the second turn I wrapped both front and rear feet. And then went back to front feet only for her third turn. The wraps on her front feet definitely showed wear so I think I’ll keep wrapping her front feet on these mats. I wasn’t sure if I should wrap the rear or not but they didn’t seem to have a much wear as the front wraps. Let me know what you think although it might be a little hard to see.

Here is J2 from Sunday. This was my least favorite course of the weekend. It was a really hard course to find any NFC options for Lu. We decided on 1-4, 6. I knew 3-4 was going to be hard and it was. Then we ended on 6-10-17, tunnel. On a side note, Youtube said I had a copyright infringement because there was music playing in the background so I had to mute it.

Here’s J1 from Sunday. I ran 1-6 as numbered. I was really worried about the turn out of the tunnel to 4 (and didn’t handle it great) but she read it really well. And I was so happy with 4-6. I didn’t think we’d get those turns. Then we practiced the broad jump because she had missed it a few times the day before. I didn’t realize until watching the video her butt was up on her stay.

Here’s J2 from Saturday. This was the course I had a really hard time finding anything nice for her to work on. The first plan I thought was going to work on paper did not look good when I walked it so decided to try 6-10. She turned so tight on her first backside wrap that her line took her completely past the entrance to the tunnel – plus i felt like I disconnected from her too. Second time, I reconnected but almost sent her straight. And – she held her stays. When I walked this i thought for sure that the broad jump would be right on her line so she should take it out of the tunnel – but I was wrong LOL. I didn’t much have a plan for the ending so tried to wing it – not a good idea with her HA.

Here’s J1 from Saturday. I would have liked to start at 1 and try to get through to 7 but the wall was #2 so had to start at 3. I was so happy with how she read this. I thought for sure she was going to go and take 15 but she turned to the tunnel and she even turned out of the tunnel! Then I went to try to do 9-13. Each time I tried to handle #10 I was handling incorrectly for her somehow – either in her way, adding too much motion, etc. Once she made it to #11, I don’t think i gave her any verbals as to how she should turn out of it and add that to a fairly new obstacle of the broad jump she just went around it. Overall I was very happy with this run. So many new things to remember for her LOL.

    Hi!

We are back from WI from the ISC trial. Now I see what you mean about the technical course design from German judges. It was a much different flavor of design compared to other European judges. It almost felt more American than European! However, the one thing I appreciated was the very apparent difference in levels of courses. You could definitely tell J1 vs J2 vs J3 and seemed to really try to be appropriate for the level. Lu was entered in J1 and J2 for the weekend for a total of four runs that we NFC’d. The J2 course were difficult to find something that would be good for Lu to practice but we tried to make it work. One thing I’ll have to remember for NFC next time if I do another ISC trial is you have to leave the toy connected to you (no throwing it or placing it). You could have it on a really long line so I’d do that next time instead. I accidentally threw it one run out of habit- whoops! Not a fan of that rule. Lu has not seen the wall jump yet so that also added to the difficulty of making up a course for her because the nice areas where I wanted to have her run included the wall. I didn’t’ want to spend time practicing it since we can do that at our local facilities without having to feel rushed. We did review the broad jump though as she has seen that a few times. I’ll give a recap of each run below. I think one thing I came away with from the weekend is that I need to figure out our teamwork for how I handle a backside wrap. She gave me a lot of feedback on those this weekend 🙂

She did have some tightness on her right inner thigh during the massage. She also had some minor adjustments to her pelvis/sacrum during chiro. I’ve got her scheduled for another chiro appt in a few weeks again and will probably have her seen again at massage too.

    Hi,

We haven’t really done much in the past couple of weeks so wanted to send an update. Didn’t have any planned training and we didn’t have class so it’s been pretty quiet. Plus it snowed so nothing outside. This weekend we are headed to the ISC trial at CSZ in WI. Lu is entered in 16 preferred so I can post after this weekend. She got her first chiro adjustment this past Friday and then had her first massage on Saturday. I didn’t realize it but I asked my massage person if she did trigger point and she said that’s part of the massage. So I didn’t realize they were basically the same thing lol. But now she’s all tuned up.

And here’s the jump grid out of the tunnel with motion.

I have scheduled a chiropractic appt and massage appt for Lu for next week so we’ll how it goes. I haven’t seen anything off with her but she is in season too and has been the last 1.5 weeks. We did have some training time scheduled at Animal Inn this weekend. We practiced running low bars in a big speed circle. Then we revisited the 3 jump grid out of the tunnel with added motion. I kept the grid on her line as she came out of the tunnel. Here’s the speed circle first. I was late on some of turns with both verbals and decel plus the footing here is not good. I thought she did well on this exercise.

Weirdly I have an Android and PC. That was the reason I didn’t make a new thread in the beginning.

Here’s another grid from the summer that might be more similar to the distances in the accordion grid.

I might start a new thread on here too. It seems like things are getting a little funky when I post.

The video was acting weird with me too when I uploaded it. Not sure what the deal was.

Here is a similar grid from this summer. I think height was maybe 18″?

<do you get her seen by trigger point massage people?>

I’m not familiar with anyone around here that does it. I know of a person in WI that does. I’m guessing she’ll be at the trial I’ll be at in a few weeks but not sure and I don’t necessarily know if she’s working the trigger point. I have a regular massage person here for Emmie but I don’t know if Lu would sit still enough for it. She’s only here on certain weekends – next time is in two weeks. I could see if I could get her in for a chiro appt though in the mean time and add her into the massage appt to see how she does.

I think we might have talked about this during the live chat, but to advance the minny pinny, we would just expand it further out right? We revisited this the other day in my basement and it went really well. But since it’s nice out right now I was thinking of trying the more advanced version.
