Here is our backside wraps. This has gotten to be a pretty good skill for us but I have been working on having her sequence at 20″ because I need to work up to her competition height. I think this might be a combo of me pushing too hard and her learning the new height.

Here’s backside slices. I didn’t want to fight with her sit so tried sending her using a wrap on the jump before. Also not sure if I’m rewarding correctly.

We tried discriminations tonight. It went better than expected overall but adding motion was too hard. And she wasn’t exactly wrong either lol so maybe I need a slightly different set up to make it easier. We

Here is the actual sequence 4. I could not get the turn 3-4 because I was trying so hard to manage the turn from the tunnel so I was continuously late for 3-4.

I reset the course to the map coordinates and practiced just the tunnel turns for 1-3 for sequence 4.

Here’s Threadle sequence 3. I was still having a hard time keeping my feet going the correct way but eventually fixed myself.

We tried the second part of the threadle sequence 2 again focusing on the turn out of the tunnel. This was not exactly how it was set from the map the other day. I adjusted it a bit for the threadle but 1-3 were a very similar set up (I set a different course for Em and didn’t want to move tunnels). Plus Ii really wanted to try the threadle in sequence. But I am going to try to set the exact course in the map later this week to try just the tunnel turns only. However – she did great! These were the only reps we did and she nailed them. I on the other hand had to think REALLY hard about what I was doing so not sure if what I was doing motion wise was great or not. I was really focusing on trying to get my cues out timely.

And here’s 4 corners Sequence 4. We really struggled with the opening. We had a few extra reps like the first one that I didn’t include.

We tried 4 corners Sequence 3 again. It was slightly improved but I still struggled with it. We also tried a standing startline for the first time. Might have to play around with this a little more.

So I’m struggling on where I should be – next to the jump near the tunnel entry or near the jump close to the tunnel exit?

And here is us trying to do the second part of Sequence 2. We never actually got to the threadle skill itself because we got stuck on our arch nemesis – turning out of a tunnel. This has been getting better in some situations but this exact scenario is very hard still. I tried a couple of different things here. Moved the jump out, me getting closer to the exit of the tunnel and opening my shoulder to her. Some reps I didn’t show was me running the completely opposite direction and she still would just stay on the line blasting out of the tunnel.

Im behind I’m editing but finally caught up this past weekend. I worked some more on the sequence above but I’ll post that tomorrow so I don’t bombard you. However, I’m posting this one out of order because I need help. We worked some of the threadle exercises last week. This is the warm up/sequence 2a. We did pretty well on this but this is definitely something we’ve been working. She knows the skill but my handling has to be perfected on it with her.

Here is Sequence 3 from 4 corners. So for this sequence, she’s done this before when I’m trying to do a cross. I tried doing both a blind and a FC but the same thing happened. Am I too early? Or do I have to practice having her come into me on situations like that?

We started on some of the 4 corners sequencing tonight and it was really good information. Here is sequence 1 and 2. On Sequence 2 I thought I forgot to layer the tunnel the correct way so tried it the way I thought was correct on the next couple of reps. I think I confused myself. And we still had more startline problems tonight.

Here’s forward focus. She was really struggling with her startline here which she hasn’t done like this for quite a while. I’m chalking it up to being really excited to do something because she tagged along to the Midwest Cup this weekend and didn’t get to really do anything except cheerlead. She settled in as the exercise progressed though. We did the first four positions and then moved to the lateral positions too. In the past she has really struggled with the lateral positions so this was good practice for her. It might be hard to hear but I am giving her her cue of ‘Focus’.
