ParticipantFor the soft turn verbals, I do want them but I have a really hard time remembering all those lol.
<First, 2 reinforcement detail: it sounds like you were using a “get it” marker for the toy in your hand here and also for a thrown/placed toy out ahead>
Sadly I do have a “chase” marker word but didn’t use it. I don’t have one for a placed toy yet though.
<And in handling, try not to move the toy back and forth between hands – it changes her focal point and delays your cus. So you can leave it in one hand or put it in a pocket if you are changing hands without realizing it>
I might actually be subconsciously switching it between hands depending on what side she is on trying to keep it on the side opposite of her. I didn’t know I switched hands. Good to know lol.
Here is our first try at the set point exercise too:

ParticipantAnd here’s the smiley face game. We also did this game over a couple sessions. I think we did most of the ones you had in the video and then made up a few of our own. Here’s our words:
Wing wrap to the left: dig
Wing wrap to the right: check
Soft turn to left: turn
Soft turn to right: swingNot sure if I’ll use soft turn verbals during jumping or not but I would like to have them for the dogwalk for sure.

ParticipantHere is the Wind in Your Hair game. We did a couple of different sessions over a few days. We increased distance and during one of the sessions I realized I didn’t reward her separately for leaving her toy alone so we practiced that on the last session.

ParticipantNormally I can’t make the live class times but I’m glad I got to see part of it tonight. We did try the first exercise with the wing proofing. I knew this was going to be a hard exercise for us. We have done some discriminations like these for another class we are taking and I’m not sure what to do. I definitely am watching to try not to have her fail more than twice but as you can see from the video it’s a little hard to stop her from just “doing stuff.” I definitely don’t want to get her frustrated and I’m really trying to make it easier. This is my first dog who “does first” and “thinks later.” Very new to me since all of my dogs have started out thinkers first. Should I start with food on all of these types of discriminations first? Oh and I did really reward a lot when she got it right but I cut it out so you could see my problem areas.

ParticipantHere’s Pre-game #1.

ParticipantHere is lateral lead outs. I have to remember to reward the stay more!

ParticipantI’ll work on these during the break until the next class!

ParticipantWe worked on countermotion with serp exits tonight. This one was tricky with the mechanics and set up for me. We have been working the serps without motion but this was probably the first time adding any motion. I left this video long because I probably won’t post this exercise again before the class is done. Sorry for trying to smash this all in while you are at the festival with poor Internet!

ParticipantKippy RYG Week 4 Sequence 3. I walked a spin from 10-11 and didn’t execute correctly first rep. Second rep I didn’t do the spin but randomly added one at 3-4.

ParticipantEmmie RYG Week 4 Sequence 1. This was a hot mess. First rep didn’t run it how I walked it at all and then didn’t get the layering. Second rep I did run it now I walked it and still didn’t get the layering. So broke it down on that part. Then I got lazy handling the backside and took it for granted.

ParticipantKippy RYG Week 4 Sequence 1. Thought I did a good job walking and running this one.

ParticipantEmmie RYG Week 4, Sequence 2. Again, didn’t run what I walked in parts. As I’m editing I think I was mixing up my walkthrus with the two dogs when I ran it. I was going to do a blind between 5-6 for Emmie but then did a FC. And for Kippy I was going to do a FC but ended up doing a BC the first rep.

ParticipantWe’ve been working through RYG Week 4 and the common theme of these is I haven’t been running them how I walked them at all LOL. Here is RYG Week 4, Sequence 2 with Kippy. The way I initially walked it is how I should have run it but for some reason I didn’t run it that way at all. Not until the last rep – then I ran it the way I walked it and we got it right away. Funny how that works. I also apologize for all the barking in the background.

ParticipantThe last couple of weeks we have been focusing on the Serps and Threadles and trying to work up to motion. But we’ve had to have a lot of stationary sessions so haven’t posted anything. We also have done some of the start line work but it was done on a night that I was actually at a facility and didn’t have a camera set up. So I haven’t been able to post much. We did start some parts of the rocking horse with a tunnel. I thought we could get right through this module but I was completely wrong LOL. I spent a few sessions breaking this down into little pieces all the way down to just the wing wraps. So this is a longer video.
