ParticipantHere are Emmie’s attempts at the RYG Week 3 Sequences 2, 3. We had a hard time layering in the first rep for sequence 2 so broke it down and she got it the rest of the attempts. Also had a wide turn so redid the sequence to tighten that up. I am currently trying to train a threadle wrap on a new cue “circle.”. We did have a threadle wrap initially but it’s more based on a lot of support from body language. It was a merge of my threadle and wrap cue “in-in check or dig” depending on what way we are going but I think for the most part Emmie’s understanding of “in-in” is a threadle slice because that’s the instances we use it the most. Most of video clips are of me breaking down the threadle for your feedback. I did try to run the sequence but we kept missing the middle jump so we didn’t finish it. She was nailing the threadle wrap and that was my main focus.

ParticipantHere is Kippy’s attempts at Week 3 RYG sequences 2, 3. I did attempt the layering this time on some sections. It was much easier with him than with Em. For Sequence 3, I did not do a threadle wrap with him. I don’t have a threadle wrap with him and at this point I’m not going to train it with him lol.

ParticipantI think you had a copy/paste error here. 🙂

ParticipantHere is the same RYG sequences with Emmie. We handled 1b two different ways. We threadled the first rep then pushed to backside on the second rep. I just wanted to see how a threadle would work in that situation.

ParticipantHere is Week 3 RYG Sequences 1a, 1b with Kippy. We struggled the first couple of times with 1-5 with the first sequence. Second sequence was easier for us since we sent to the backside the first time.

ParticipantHere is Kippy doing RYG Week 2 Part 2. In the last rep he was looking for his ball out of the last tunnel. So I brought him back into the sequence to finish it.

ParticipantWe did the Flyball restrained recalls. My husband accidentally moved out of view for the third rep but it was the same thing. The camera angle wasn’t great to see the retrieve back but it was the fastest she’s ever done. That was fun to watch.

ParticipantHere is the rocking horse spins and race track. I had to think a lot here lol. Not sure if I got the last sequence (post turns) correct – I might have skipped a FC.

ParticipantI do have a question about the length of the class. When is the last day of class and do we have catch up weeks that we can still post? Oh, and will there be another Maxpup class to follow this one? If so, do you have an idea of when that will be?

ParticipantMinny Pinny advanced level. Tried to add in what you said above as well in this session.
<For the verbals: gently hold her collar, start saying the verbal… then let her go to start the turn.
And you can also let her start and you can stand still (no shoulder help to go around the minny pinny).>

ParticipantHere is the threadle double whammy. She did really well in this. I don’t know if she really knows the difference in the two different cues (still learning how she learns) or if she just takes the tunnel again because it’s there 😅

ParticipantHere is RYG Week 2 Part 1.
Kippy: We struggled with Sequence 4a pushing back out to the jump after wrapping. I had a few failures on this (didn’t put all in video). So broke it down. Sequence 4b, we got the switch away and went back out to the jump. He grabbed his toy before taking the tunnel but he got the hard parts. Honestly – I don’t really have a rear cross with him. I have to be absolutely perfect to execute if it’s not on the flat. He does have a very good switch on the flat though – so the turn was late after he landed but he went out and got the jump afterwards.
Emmie: We had a hard time on Sequence 4b with the switch away. I was using her wrap cue “dig” and I thought we could easily get it but obviously my verbal did not override my poor timing/body positioning. Then she got hot so we didn’t try anymore.

ParticipantHappy stays with food and then toys. I noticed when I watched back that she had her butt up in one of the toy reps – bad me for not staying connected but at least she didn’t break lol.

ParticipantI would have preferred to do this outside but it was thundering out. I would have moved to the advanced level but we can do another session. My soft turn cues are going to be “swing” to the right and “turn” to the left. First time I said the wrong verbal (of course lol).

ParticipantHere we worked on the tunnel threadle. We gradually moved closer to the “obvious” side of the tunnel and added the verbal cue “Look.” I had to wait her out a couple of times when we got close to the obvious side tunnel until she looked at the correct side.
