ParticipantHere is our blind cross foundations. I like doing this with the cookie toss better but if I have to throw it in a bowl outside I won’t have time to do my mechanics for the blind cross. She’s too speedy for me already 😂 That and she’s not super thrilled to be restrained either. I did get my husband to hold her for a couple of these though. Presenting the toy across the body is the hard part on these and I definitely over thought it on top of that. So we had some ok reps and some not so good ones 😂

ParticipantHere is decel and turning foundations. I don’t have a great spot for this since there is not much room but we worked with what we had. I would do this outside but then she can’t see the treats in the grass. I’ll see what I can figure out for the blind cross exercise.

Participant>>When she is on your left, we want her to turn to her right – so break that side down a bit for now so she is not as far ahead or feeling as much pressure from the motion. When you throw the toy, throw it further out to the side, away from you, so she almost triangulates to get to it. That opens up the peripheral vision so she can see you off to the side better and is more likely to turn to the right towards you.
So don’t throw the toy straight, but more to my right as well? I’m pretty sure I get what you are saying on this so I’ll try it and you can let me know! I didn’t realize I also didn’t’ switch this exercise to include both sides. Will do that next time.

ParticipantHere is building sends and commitment with the prop. We switched our prop because the bag I used yesterday was really slippery and I thought she might kill herself on it if she was turning for a toy. We switched to an oven mitt. We did a longer warm up on this but I already went a little long on time so I cut some of that out. I really struggled with the mechanics of this, more when I was using food. I also was having a hard time seeing if she was really touching the prop so I missed some clicks.

ParticipantHere is our try at driving ahead and forward focus.

ParticipantPre-game #2. I think I went a little too long during this session. I did have toy play sessions but edited them out. I probably should start setting a timer.

ParticipantHow do you add a pic into the text body of your post?

ParticipantYes – that was definitely the part I was missing initially was the cookie toss! I’ll work on going to the other side too because I do think there are some instances in trials she would really like this set-up in place of a start line.

ParticipantHi,
Here is the first session from earlier this week of the behind the back starts. I went too long on this first session as I ended up cutting this video for you too. The next couple of sessions I’ll also post and those were shorter. Shaping is my nemesis.

ParticipantHere’s the last one for now! This was another session on the ESC Independent Weaves. Did just a couple reps with the hard rear crosses. I wasn’t quite sure where to place the wing for the wrap around entry or if I even needed it. I think that messed her up a bit.

ParticipantHere’s W2 ESC Discrimination Skills with Motion. When I went back and watched this I felt like i cheated a bit (unknowingly) on the first few reps and used my body more than I wanted to. But the remaining reps I did not help as much. This was also a fun session to see the words she responded to and when she needed them to responsive.

ParticipantHere’s W2 ESC Super Independent Verbal Skills. This session was really fun and informative for me. Key points – she REALLY listens to her verbals and is very good at them if I give them to her timely. This really showed up with the tunnel. If I didn’t give her a “go tunnel” she’d turn back to the side the I sent her from. If I did say go tunnel she didn’t even look back at me and just ran straight. When I gave her a timely “right” command out of the tunnel, she was perfect. Next time I’ll put the camera a little closer to me – it was hard hearing some of my commands at the beginning.
