I’m glad you mentioned that because I was debating if I should add a longer target – but then laziness got the better of me 😉 I’ll add something for the next session.

Here is the second session of Mountain Climbers from yesterday. Normally I don’t like to do this many reps if I’m working on something but she’s been trying to do this game all week every time we go into the garage so I wasn’t too worried about overdoing it LOL. It was a little bit of a different set-up (added the jump standard underneath for propping up) so I think it moved a little more than what I had before. She was hesitant getting on the first time but I had a hard time getting her around the teeter without going up the board for the remainder of the session ha! We went through the different challenges. The only thing I didn’t try because I don’t have the room until I move the teeter outside is the the wrap around a wing. I do have a second teeter that I can set-up that is not a competition teeter. I think it would be good for her to get on that one because it moves a lot more. I also can try to get to some friends’ teeters this weekend hopefully.

Here was our second session on backing up from yesterday. I did a reminder session on a stable wobble board first. Then I moved it onto a stable teeter.

Session 2 for end position on a stationary board. I added the target (piece of tape on the ground). I tried a toy for about a second but decided to just stick with the food. I also added my motion and some verbal excitement and physical touch to play with her instead.

We have worked a lot recently on this exercise so I added the 2o2o here. The only change I made from what I’ve been previously doing was that I added a piece of the tape on the floor and also increased my distance each time from where I was sending her to the board. The tape actually really helped her understand her 2o2o.

Here is today’s session. We have done table-to-table in the past a couple of months ago but really only got to the same place as this video. She is usually tentative until she realizes how much movement there is in the board and then she’ll become more confident.

Also from yesterday. First time playing this game but she got confident pretty quick ha.

Here is yesterday’s session for backing up. Disclaimer on this video. We’ve worked about 3 sessions on backing up prior to this (which I unintentionally got a very nice rear leg lift ha).
We worked those sessions on a plank with no movement and she got pretty good at it. The other thing we’ve worked quite a lot on was slight movement on the teeter and going into a position (which just recently changed to the 2o2o). She’s very comfortable touching the teeter with her front paws. But when I try to put the two behaviors together ( backing up onto the teeter) it’s a whole new thing for her. I also look stingy in this but I wasn’t rewarding her getting onto the board with her front feet because she’s really worked that a lot and would continue to offer that instead of backing up. I cut it down a lot but wanted to give you an idea. I also jackpotted a lot but cut that out too.

She’s always been pretty thoughtful and any new/novel type of set-up she likes to check it out first. She’s been on the plank before but not propped up. I have done a little bit of the bang game (like just last week) with the cones – but then realized it would probably help to figure out what her end position was going to be first 🙂

I had debated 4o but decided it would probably be easiest to just stick to 2o2o to maintain. I’ve always been interested in a touch/go teeter (board hits the ground and the dog releases). Do you have any insight on that? Would you still have 2o2o? Or what would the criteria be?

For a target, would you use the treat and train? I can try adding the toys in too. She does like her food.

I added some cones as props. I have done very little with end position work.
