Wow, I just watched the Remonte REinforcement Combo Game, it is really sad how I missed this step in training. I will try and work on this, plus work with running sequences with different toys to make sure it’s the right toy for this weekend’s FEO. I will try very hard not to run things with my heart but instead use my mind. I think we are ok when we are not.

thanks a bunch, I had thought about doing FEO on Sunday for T2B but then thought it looked fun and thought we could do it but now I really wished I had done FEO. I was telling Sue that he really goes crazy tugging with a big Holy Rollerball but I really need a handle on it so I don’t drop it in the ring.

About the Pattern games, it’s hard to throw treats at dirt trials. I did take the shaping object and he touched it but didn’t throw a treat to reset it because of the dirt. The thing is all dirty going to have to clean it. This trial was very dusty. Ok, next week the trial is on turf, I’m only showing two days and they are offering t2b and Fast so I will do them FEO. I will also try to redesign a running course out of the st course.

After this, we left town. I think for my dog we are getting out for the warmup way too early and by the time I have gone through all are tricks etc he has had it. What about a warm-up of about ten dogs before a bit of jumping and tricks after pottying then back in the crate until one dog waiting to go in the ring then get to the gate area and do the tricks and go in while he is still interested for now?
When I get him out will also be dependent on how far we are away from the gate and where we are crated. This location has always been hard for my dogs to handle. Or maybe it’s hard for me to handle, take your pick. Help!

    Chuck and Carol
List the Kryptonite for Chuck and Carol!
    Food and Tops nearby
    Odd loud noises
Crowded areas with dogs and people
    Ring crew and the Judge
    Air scenting
    Our Plan:
Ask a friend to help with distractions:
    1. Bang on a pan, or other thing that would make a weird noise while setting up at the
start line, make a noise while running a sequence, and during the warming up for the
    run.
    2. Have a dog outside the ring playing with a toy or just playing with handler.
    Starting far way at first.
    3. During warm up work on tricks, pattern games and focus game.
    4. Play music in background or agility noises
    5. Have siblings crated in the area
    Tool box
    1. Spins, Touches, sit, down, line up between legs, left and right turns on an upright
    2. Tugging, Retrieving the toy
    3. Focus Game with Remote treats/toys

I think raising it up will help. We did a little session this morning and he kept laying on it. Very funny. So I will figure out attaching it to something that will raise it up. Thanks carol

Working on between the legs at a different location. Some perfect…some not. Wondering when to try to decrease the food need to rewatch your video today. I guess one thing he is focused on me, but I also have the food. His weaves were great but the camera didn’t get it. haha

    Hi Tracy
I am getting together some trial runs that show the start line starts. Last year he was pretty solid on start lines but then started to revert back to novice problems at the start line. When reviewing these past runs I really noticed a lot of looking around as I walked out ie., not focused on me. The past few trials were not videoed. They were really bad I just had to go with comments from people watching . One person said that when the heaters clicked on that was it, so he was out of there.. that happened on the first day do the rest of the trial was bad. The only Q was Ex Fast.

He is not in a weekly class. We travel to KC and St Louis for Privates. We’ll be going to KC tomorrow for private with Cassie in the same building been having so much trouble. (Blue Springs, Mo)

Our next trial is April 15 in Fayetteville on dirt. He has not been their since Novice.

    Carol
