ParticipantActually I cannot find where I can attach a file to. Is there an email I could email you a diagram?

ParticipantHi Kimberly,
So sorry I haven’t been posting, I kind of fell off the wagon! I should have known that winter was not a good time for me to do an online class. But I wanted to give you an update! 🙂
I went to a CPE trial in Spokane last weekend with a friend. It’s the first CPE trial I’ve been to. I entered him in level 3 per trial secretary advice so at least there would be some challenges. And he did really well! Smaller trial, low key environment. But he’s never been there before and he looked very comfortable running there. He didn’t go around any jumps there. I’m trying to still do some sling shot and running starts but at least connecting with him first! Like I do in practice. 🙂 I’m going to Ridgefield this next weekend and if I still have access to your classroom I’ll post some more video’s of our start’s there. I’m going to try to use the same kind of starts and hopefully our runs will start off much better!
I only got video of this 1 run because my friend that I went with was also running 2 dogs in the same height.
I have the assignments still and plan on going through them when it’s dryer. But I did have a question about something you said in your last post to me – how do I look for commitment in my dog? You know – I’m not sure I can answer that – I try to look for him to take off but IG’s are notorious for turning off of a jump quickly just when you thought they were going to do it.
So any advice for me to work on this?
I also wondered if you have some thoughts on this diagram below.Dana Harris

ParticipantThis is week 3 sequence 1. We’ve been playing the Lazy B a little to warm up and he likes offering things and getting rewarded. We’ll see how that translates to the next trial. We’ve been lucky the last 2 days with very nice weather but supposed to rain and get colder so we’ll play some indoor games tomorrow!

ParticipantThis is week 3 sequence 2 agility courses. Try 1 and 2.

Participantthis is the large course. He also had really nice weaves! But again he usually does in places he’s comfortable training in. 🙂

ParticipantThis is the short Daisy Peel league course. I did a lead out in both courses because he is comfortable training here. He did really well that day!

ParticipantAs you see, I do use Lotus balls quite a bit. He knows what they mean, he’s very motivated by them and they are definitely his reward station item. I bring them to trials and put them on the treat table for reward after the runs.

ParticipantHI there,
You are right that my front cross could be sooner. I do struggle with trusting his obstacle commitment, especially in a trial. I’m hoping that some of these games will help. I worked on the Lazy B a few times and I will upload those videos. I didn’t get Daisy’s League done yet because of frost this weekend. Will try again Friday to get to my friend’s house for league. But I did do a little today. My goal is to be way more relaxed at a trial at the start line. The more I think about it, the more I feel like that could be a huge part of my problem! I won’t enter another trial until probably end of January though, depending on weather.

ParticipantHere is our lesson 1 courses. Sorry I’m a bit behind because today is the first day it hasn’t been raining or too cold or too slippery. Safety first 🙂
