ParticipantThank you!
We tried it again and I tried to look behind…I struggled a bit with that. I did leave one rep in the video that includes where I can see that I didn’t and she didn’t commit.

ParticipantGood Morning!
Here is a video for our motion exercise. I was especially happy with her tugging during this one because that is the first thing we lose if she is somewhere new and possibly uncomfortable.

ParticipantGood Morning!
Thank you for the feedback! For our final video of the week, we worked blind crosses and wraps. I’m SUPER happy with the last wrap of the session. I think it is exactly what we want. I also was happy with the blind crosses. I think part of my problem was that I was trying to watch Syn take the jumps and then get into position. For these, I just sent and trusted her and I feel like my positioning was better and more timely.
Video is here: https://youtu.be/k0KO4zTKe9UFor next week, I’m taking 4 wings with me, so we should be able to work the Wing It game and also the contact/motion exercise. We are also working through the self-study weave program, so we will be taking one set of 2x2s and the treat and train to work that while we are in PA. If we get a chance, we will work the new concept transfer games, but that might have to wait until our return to NC.
Thanks!denisewelk
ParticipantThanks for this information! It is super helpful when you provide the times on the videos so I can watch exactly what you are describing. We will work on the decel with the cue and see if we can get the tighter turn.
We worked on the Bonus blind cross exercises today.
The video is here: https://youtu.be/lmpfEJTMZAo
I thought some of the crosses worked well, some worked but were meehh, and others didn’t work at all. However, I’m not sure what I did that differently to get the different results. I think I was late at 1:45, but not sure about 0.59.Thanks!

ParticipantThank you!
Here is the latest iteration. I moved the jumps out (and I think I’m going to move them even further, because I don’t feel like I’m showing acceleration and deceleration clear enough. I also think I might be late on my verbal cues (plus we are new to the rrrrr, which is the new left wrap cue, so those didn’t go quite as well).
Synergy wraps: https://youtu.be/bWR6npPq00MAlso, as a note, I need to go from NC to PA for a funeral and to check in with my mom (she’s under hospice care right now). Synnie is going with me, but I’m not sure if we will find a place to work in the next week. I’m hoping I can rent some time at the facility I used to go to when I lived in PA, but now sure yet.
Thanks again!

ParticipantYay, the rain finally stopped. We worked on adding a second wrap cue during the rainy downtime and added it here. This video has a bit of everything…larger space lazy game, adding motion, fluffy blind crosses, and the wraps.
Thanks!denisewelk
ParticipantTracy,
So to be clear, you teach a verbal for a wrap right and a wrap left regardless of where the handler is in relation to the dog? I taught my older girl (and just as a side note, my older girl has some verbals, but my agility dogs after her are deaf so I’m not super strong on verbals because I haven’t had to teach them in a while 🙂 ) TIGHT, which means jump and wrap the wing toward me, and SWITCH TIGHT, which meant jump, turn away from me, and wrap the wing. However, it sounds like you teach the different wrap verbals always based on left and right for the dog, regardless of where the handler is? I never taught my older girl left and right (just toward me or switch away), but I would like to add those to my toolbox for Synnie.
Thanks!denisewelk
ParticipantThanks Tracy!!
You will have to keep reminding me to keep my arm low. I’ve been doing agility for about 15 years and I’m still trying to send my dog to the clouds!
I only have one wrap verbal with her. I know that you use two different verbals for wraps from the self-study class that I took, but I didn’t have the class where you actually talk about teaching the different wrap verbals. We may have to work on that. Her verbal for wrap is TIGHT.
I do have one request. As we go forward and add verbals, PLEASE let me know about my timing of the verbal. My older girl (9.5 years old) was my first fast agility dog, and my verbals are always super late with her. I don’t want to make the same mistake with Synnie.
Thanks again!

ParticipantTracy,
Thank you for that feedback! I may be a bit biased…but I agree with you about Synergy! 🙂Here are our next attempts at the Concept Transfer
Synergy Concept Transfer 3: https://youtu.be/JYLffwzvils
Synergy Concept Transfer 4: https://youtu.be/0Ww0zbySTMUWe also did our first work with Wingin It (I apologize…the PIVO and I were having some technical difficulties; I think it was too close and sometimes lost Syn at the close wing)

ParticipantTracy,
Here are the links again. I’ve changed the YouTube setting of the videos to public. Hopefully, they will work now.
Synergy’s first concept transfer rep: https://youtu.be/JGBL2CXof_A
Synergy’s middle and last reps: https://youtu.be/IPXbfja6REw
Thanks!denisewelk
ParticipantSynergy’s first concept transfer rep: https://youtu.be/IPXbfja6REw
Synergy’s middle and last reps: https://youtu.be/JGBL2CXof_APlease let me know if you would prefer these in another way. I tried to just drag and drop the videos to this text box, but it didn’t work, and I couldn’t find any instructions in the course information.
Thanks so much!!

ParticipantQuestion:
I’m not sure how the format works. Are we supposed to work through all of the week 1 games before the first live class?
Thanks! -
