ParticipantHaha that makes sense. Very fast puppy needs cues way way sooner. I’m glad you know whippets. I have a lot to learn here!

ParticipantTunnel exit games
Whippets are interesting! I had to play with the tunnel and re train a straight tunnel even though we have done it a million times. I bought a new toy I could throw when she exited to get her excited. Her turns aren’t tight out of the tunnel but I’m happy with her progress.Snap…. She’s got stuff going on but we cannot seem to figure out exactly why she has pain. Vets have not been helpful so we rest. I’m still hopeful. She’s a fun agility and flyball dog.

ParticipantShe turned 8 months on the 9th. Shes pretty awesome. Different than what I’m used to. Training for agility and flyball of course takes time plus taking care of an injured dog. I’ve learned that she does need one session to understand expectations then Bam! She’s got it! Love her!

ParticipantHi Tracy,
I was just reading in the forum about max pup 2. I’m not sure where to go to sign up. I’m way behind but she’s coming along nicely. I don’t want to miss the next step.

ParticipantStrike a pose
She understood this one so well I didn’t have to do many reps. The other side is similar so I’m just posting one side. Teeth must still be sore. She’s just not tugging.

ParticipantRocking horse game
We are moving to the barn once a week and it’s a distracting environment. She still did ok. We play this at home too and it’s a bit better but I wanted to show you how she recalls and gets to work.
Im way behind and plan on working through this but should I prioritize so I’m ready for max pup 2?

ParticipantHind end awareness
I am posting this because she did so well. She has a high value for platforms so I put the mat on top of the bumper and she just did it. 5 months old and she is brilliant. She’s starting to understand things and I love it!Jana Crawford
ParticipantOops here’s the video

ParticipantTurn n burn
She definitely prefers to go to her right! I feel like she’s grown so much my basement is too small. I am going to start working in Suzi’s barn as much as I can. She’s just too big and too fast to deal with this tiny space. I only posted one direction here but it’s pretty similar. Still using the tug to reward and tug as much as possible. She’s coming around so I’m happy.

ParticipantTugging
We have been working really hard on this. I have been playing toy races with a long soft tug. Using it as a reward as much as I can. She likes me to do the work. If I don’t keep tension on the tug, she loses interest and is done. If I play hard and rough, she growls and enjoys it more. Any more feedback would be great. Teeth ARE coming out but she is tugging now.

ParticipantWing wrap foundations
I’m learning about the whippet stuff. This puppy is very different. She’s not a big tugger so I’m going to have to work it a lot. She’s still young so. But the wing wraps… brilliant!
