ParticipantOK. Figuring out how to post videos. That last one was our most recent local trial. Pretty good start and speed. I have her chasing me and we both had fun. I will post EOTT round 1 next. Slow start!

ParticipantI am having trouble getting my replies to post. This is my 3rd attempt. This time on the computer at work. I tried on my phone twice this morning. What a pain!
Anyway–I almost always use some sore of a running start. Sometimes I run ahead and then release and sometimes I race her off of the line form a sprinter’s start position or hold or pull back on the line and say ready, ready reeeaaady? Sometimes I even start behind and run past her and release while I am running. That really works well–especially for relays and pairs. The problem is is that when she is really stressed I run ahead and release and then she stands up and scratches for a few seconds before slowly starting to run my way. I do everything I know of to make her less itchy including a bath before every trials with an apple cider vinegar rinse, special supplements, coconut oil and a raw beef diet.
As far as the dog walk goes, I started with stopped contacts but when I switched to running I began by just rewarding any foot in the yellow and then switched to a mat that is about 2′ long and a “hit it” cue. Should I reward always even if she leaps? I dont currently. I only reward if she hits the last 2 feet and give a jackpot for fast performance. I am thinking that I could use lower value treats for leaping, and a jackpot of better treats for fast–say 3 treats for medium fast, 4 treats for fast and 5 treats for “speedy” plus if possible a game of ball or hose game for speedy. Thoughts?
I need help figuring out how to post videos here. Do I have to post them on You tube first?
