ParticipantHowdy!
I suffered at the hands of a cold virus, but I’m back!
Here is a tug session. I think I did 4 toy switches, and two that I didn’t have on video.
I can get her on any toy, some were easier than others. But I have more trouble keeping her on the toy, especially when it stops moving. She did the best with the Wubba (which surprised me) and the fur tug in staying on. She doesn’t seem to like giant mouthfuls of fluff and she is tiny.
I left this long and unedited. If I started really moving the toy it was because she letting go. New video angle experiment.
I have a habit of shaking the toy, which I tried not to do here. I also try to have her tug on me.

ParticipantAlso-forgot to say. Even though she stopped and restarted, this was basically the entire session (started video after 30 seconds). Wanted to show you all the things. Even the not pretty stuff.

ParticipantHere is the hilarious (but terrible), the not so great and the finally, not too shabby.
We had a couple of good reps on the prop send, then when my friend came to video…oof!! But I know distraction will be a challenge for her, but I think she will build enough joy of the game that it is easily overcome.
And yes, she is made of springs. And barks. And wiggles.

ParticipantHere is a session with the small target. I cut out a bit at the beginning because the pet tutor was blowing her mind, otherwise it is one session, I just cut out the VERY SLOW CHEWING.
I don’t have a smart clicker for my pet tutor so I’m using the phone which is clumsy, it’s been ordered.

ParticipantDropping this bomb RIGHT HERE!
Bam!
The shock was when I went lateral and she tried to take a 16” double. Oops!

ParticipantGood Morning. Here we are this morning with Wing Wraps and TWO WINGS!!! We did parallel path yesterday, but I wasn’t wearing a bra and decided not to share that with the world. 🙂
I focused on connection and got a little greedy early on. Also, tugging and retrieve. I block the retrieve, but he is doing so good and it is hilarious because that thing is as tall as him, but he gives it all he has! He is getting very consistent bringing it back to me. He likes that way more than winning.
And his tug is super fierce!
Jerri Gillean
ParticipantTrying to transition him to the wing. He didn’t generalize it, so I added the cone and boom. We got somewhere.
I haven’t done a ton with the send as I need more room and its been mostly rain. I added some more value to the target, so we will give it a whirl. I was able to add a tiny bit here.
After about 3 minutes the horeses in the pasture behind us got a little rowdy and splashing/running in all the water and he couldn’t quite work through that, but i got him back. I think had they done that the first minute he would have been able to focus, I’d say that’s a good 6 or 7 on the distraction scale. And the fact that I can call him back. Yay!

ParticipantIn the previous video, she was running as far as she can, it was at least 4 feet from the target, that’s about all the space I have.
For the ‘go’ word, do I say ‘go’ or pick some other random word??
Here we are at a park, Jaclyn is filming (I have an incredible film crew).
She is picking up speed, but MY GOD, the finding of the food is KILLING ME. Half of our training time is finding the food. I had light food, dark food (at one point she spit out the cheese and some sausage thing that Jaclyn had).

ParticipantHere is the inverted box.
I start with just the box (which is about an inch longer than the mat and slightly narrower). Next I added an empty bowl, then I add some cookies to the bowl, then I moved it close.
Will try and do bigger target with speed tomorrow.
Jerri Gillean
ParticipantOh, and we have a private next week! Can’t wait for you to meet Will Smith and Trish.
Jerri Gillean
ParticipantTook the box on the road to the barn. She still isn’t driving hard to it, but did pick up the pace one time, although I think she missed a foot. She has been spot on for all 4 feet.
I’ve ordered a new pet tutor that is fancy with apps and such. I’ll see if I can get mine to work until it comes for the next step.

ParticipantHe and I play all the time outside, but never alone. The other manchesters were inside And Meisje had a big raw bone, but behind another gate, so I that upped the challenge!
Here he is at the barn. What a good boy!!!! I didn’t think to bring bowls and he was quite barky when we started at all the strangeness, toys were not cutting it, so I pulled out STEAK. That helped get some focus. That was all I could find for cones at the barn, but I think we are ready for something bigger.
Jerri Gillean
ParticipantOutside we went and we are going to do our first official on the road this afternoon at the agility barn! He has never been there.
Its a little long, he was getting distracted, when I squatted down that helped and once we got momentum, it was better. I am tossing the toy for him some now, but cut those parts out. After this part of the video, I went to kibble, but it was hard on the grass, then I got him back on the toy (took about 15 seconds) and did a couple more.
All of my outside videos at home are loud because of the highway. Sorry. 🙁

Participantalrighty!
Less bow, still a lot of chewing, but I’m standing up! Cone was about 10″ from me, as you can see I had to move it back for one direction. He made some really good choices!!
Jerri Gillean
ParticipantOh and did you notice the bow? I rewarded that in ONE shaping session when he was about 8 weeks and he hasn’t stopped doing it. INSANE.
