On backing, yes, indoors treats are already tossed to be behind her front feet so she backs even more. Outside I am a little more reluctant to toss since she eats dirt small rocks etc.

Motion. YES—She is continual motion always at all times. We did platform when she was wee and she waited well, outgrew the platforms and seemed to get really frustrated with waiting.
She does not wait well in an open crate, but sends herself to any crate frequently. She does not remain put very well but is doing “mat” pretty well in the kitchen (used to be her “bench” platform behavior. But you are right, she gets very frustrated with stopping, holding. Stays she will for short duration, had not incorporated those to moving behaviors but have held her collar before rights and lefts. Holdback like that brings her up more of course.

Off switch, she will chill if I am not around, but I am the cue to do everything. If just hubby (who avoids interacting with her) she will lie down. If I am available she is often Seeking attention, squeaking, unless I send her to mat, where she will attentively remain for a long time (but attentive, not relaxed). She will disconnect with “go play” which means entertain yourself, but will eventually return and squeak or push a toy. So no, I don’t consider her having a good off switch.

Video worked, so here are some shorties, haven’t had time to find better ones.

right & left, we were both pretty tired here, I’m not always such a low energy mom

Rocking Horse with some really bad mom handling. Fortunately Kilah’s like, I got this!

Technology and I are not close friends, or maybe I’m not following the rules.
I want to thank you for your encouraging responses which have helped me get out of my head about this puppy. My decades of stored oxytocin (I haven’t started a little chosen baby for 20+ years) have cemented her to me, but in many ways she is not an easy or dear dog. She is so ‘high’ over arouses when handled and explodes into a wild kickboxer so easily. But she is my brilliant crazy child. I still see light down that tunnel 😆 Gradually gradually the extreme bitiness is subsiding into mouthiness and hopefully diminishing. This dog seems to have a need to work at something every minute in my presence. I appreciate her work ethic but not being mauled. I am presently not attempting walks in public places as I don’t have a “lead pony” dog friend for her to model her behavior, and we are on break from getting her into harness. Finally I can almost hook to her collar without a dropped treat or licky mat. She’s good at “get dressed” so we can get into an over large collar or her Brilliant k9 but attaching the harness is hit and miss. So mostly we are off leash on the property, which works fine as there are few distractions. We also have worked on holding eye contact behavior to unsnap from collar. It’s my control harnesses that have to attach around her that are still punch and bite wrestling matches, so since I found MY triggers going we just AREN’T til I have a better plan. Carrying a toy is a big resilience for her but not when stuff is being fastened on her bodidy. 😝

There is no doubt she could do great stuff with agility, just not sure a) I am up to it—and her fearlessness about crashing into things (me!) at speed is terrifying. And b) that her arousal, especially her high prey drive, will make her appropriate. Nevertheless we are loving the exeercises and hope to continue this level in puppy2

She is nicely balanced right and left, slightly better to left and quick catty feet and lead changes. She feels a need for speed at everything, so there are lots of food tosses and scatters to s-l-o-w down. She is still way over aroused when the toy is there, still avoids bringing or yielding toys and I don’t have a workable plan for overcoming this yet. If I leash a toy she has it gone long rope and all at such a high rate of velocity that I injure myself (think rope burns or getting upended if I stand on the line—it has happened! She would be really, really good at IPG, but no way doing that.)

Am I allowed to put very short YouTube videos in my forum comments here? I have been videoing some but my home dsl (only option 😖) is such crap I have to upload when I’m at the shop.

But know this class has helped me tame my own demons a bit and my puppy is having a blast.

We’ll darn, I think the machine swallowed my responses, keeps asking if I really want to do that, lol

Thanks Tracy! She is really different, has some quirks that make working with her hard. Worse, my mind is having a hard time shaking comments by some trainer/friends that have allowed doubt to grow (One, my nosework instructor, who shared that she ‘wouldn’t want to live with that’, and seems to think I need help managing her.)

OK, so she’s strong, strong willed, and only has one speed to do ANYTHING: full throttle. She pulls, lunges to the end of whatever leash or line, abruptly flys a new direction to jerk the opposite direction. It is so difficult to manage her on leash!
She resists being handled by fighting (which I avoid allowing to happen as it really arouses her) paw punching and mouthing, so installing any sort of equipment onto her is a time consuming affair. I generally refuse to wrestle with her. We do have an eye contact behavior at the door, but if I touch her collar she tries to mouth or punch. Force is not a strategy for her, she is aroused by most things physical and I have no desire to train that way. When out and about we use a 4-in-1 harness, usually chest attachment, though she is still a powerful pull. I do use a GL as well.
She is a runner, and plays keepaway, not helped by her eating crazy things when she was small and me having to fish things out of her gullet. She is fortunately foody and toy driven (slight advantage toy). I am not playing 2 toy game with her at the moment as she is just too aroused and won’t end the game.
I am having trouble finding good footing places to train, and urgently need yo solve that problem. Kilah digs and drives at top speed and has no regard for her physical safety. So I worry about injuries.
    She is hard to handle.
Not sure this helps, and we are so far behind 😭
