    Hi, tracy,
Love your Bubbler idea! That is 301 Bubble class!

Took you up on your suggestion of walking into the agility area and working the pattern game. Instead of tossing
A treat, getting eye contact (EC), then tossing another treat, I dropped 4 or so treats on the ground and
said “scatter”. If he looked calm after those treats, we were good to go, else I dropped 4 more treats on the ground.

    Hi, Tracy,
thanks for your suggestion with entering the exciting agility area. will try soo.

Amanda shyne is having a UKI Trial Sept 25 & 26 with Paco as judge! We are going. But first, I need to train Nuptse to NOT chase the butterflies!!! (Have been working on NOT chasing butterflies for 2 years!)
So…included your pattern game with the our training to not chase bubbles (the virtual butterflies).

Here is the end of our training session:

    HI, Tracy,
Today, Nuptse ran naked! The hide-able toys on my bod are not fun toys. He always opted for treats outside the ring. We did some SL work in the yard and then moved to the other agility area, which Nuptse loves because of exciting things living there. Until he had explored the area for awhile, he was not going to play with me.

    Hi, Tracy,
Thank you so much for your suggestion of releasing to go play after one going to the SL and getting treats.
Did this video this AM. Nuptse cannot focus well enuf to play with the Toy, but he liked your SL setup where he got to go see his friends!
Will run this same setup this afternoon after we return from hiking.

WE are going to a UKI Trial on Sunday Aug 29th. Want to get as ready as possible for that with loving the SL and running off it into the course!!!!

    Hi, Tracy,
In the last video, Nuptse was only tolerating me! He really wanted to escape to the back of the yard; hence, when the leash came off he went off. Also, another clue was his not being able to play tug.
In this video from today, he is in the same frame of mind and not able to play tug.
I think that his pattern game that he has created is that when we return in the car from someplace, he is going to blast outside to the arborvitae trees and birds and squirrels! Since you have introduced the pattern games to us, I have managed to change the game somewhat with the leash and treats and me all going out together after the car trip!
In this current video, I have just selected the last part and left out the preliminary scattering of treats and my luring N to play tug.

    Hi, tracy,
Here is after returning from hiking and a long car ride. I missed the boat when I let him off his leash before going out to treat!!!!

    Hi, tracy,
    Chapter 2 on Trial transitioning:
We worked up to tugging from scattering treats to get to a good arousl level.
Then I proceeded with the Start Line protocol.

    Hi, Tracy,
Look at what you have wrought! Nuptse can walk out the door on leash without flying towards the arborvitae trees, just by practicing about 2 or 3 times doing pattern games walking outside.
The first clip is leaving the house. The 2nd clip is the mailman walking by. The 3rd clip is returning to the house to complete our session.
Note also, that can transition to play toy after some pattern game.

The next test for us will be when we return from a hike to see whether we can repeat the same steps. (After a hike, Nuptse & Tenzing return to the house with extra vigor!)

    Hi!
The pattern gam went awesomely well, right into the Lion’s Den! And it only tokk a few tosses of his toy that he dove into playing with it instead of demanding treats. BTW, we planned that stroll by with the mom, dad, baby and dogs!

    Hi,
    2nd Day, USDAA.

Stplch Pre Run &t Run 14Aug2021

On Snkr, I got so excited when Nuptse was in the WPs in the closing that I forgot the rest of the run, which was easy-peasy, but….
He began the run slowly and then sped up. Thisis often his modus operandi.

    Hi, Tracy,
Just relistened to the Package 2 Trans to Trial videos with renewed energy! Thanks for the explanation of friendly distraction vs unknown/unsure-of distraction. This is definitely a fun game to play with Nuptse!

Here are the videos from the UKI Trial on Fri. IN THE 3RD RUN, Agility, I was too far behind! Nuptse was running well. The 2 mistakes were mine, bec i was behind and not giving him the correct verbals for where I was vs his location!!!

    Hi, Tracy,
Thank you for your advice. Not sure what you are referring to when you say “Package 3 Pattern Game”.

“When you see that he is really interested in a distraction, you can get closer to it and play one of those games (I would start with the pattern game) until he is offering engagement rather than offering looking at the distraction 🙂”
Am surprised that you suggest getting closer to the distraction.

    Hi, Tracy,
The first clip is of exiting the house as if leaving the crate for the ring.
Nuptse really wanted to escape to the Arborvitae Trees diagonally across the yard. He did pretty well until I removed his leash.
When I suggested that he go get wet, all went well. I ran seq #2 using your suggestions of eliminating the BCs. My reason for using the BCs on the way to #7 was that Nuptse wanted to take the arbor before jump 6. Then I remembered our skills for this session! N did just fine on my left side exiting the tunnel! YAY!
Tomorrow, we are going to the Wide World of Sports in RI for a UKI Trial. Will do some FEO during our 4 runs.
On Sat, we are running USDAA there. Have entered Steeplechase, Snkr,
Gamblers, & 2 Pairs runs. Will play Nuptse by ear, but hope to run most of them for real.

    Hi, Tracy,
“But doing walk throughs like this certainly takes things up a notch – I was exhausted after doing the demo videos with 3 dogs LOL!!!”
The energy that you spent walking 3 differnt dogs in your video was palpable! And as an aside, all your videos are terrific.
Am embarrassed about the following walk thru. It does show how slow I am to decide on handling for certain sequences of the course.
