ParticipantHi,
According to our suggestions:Back-Back & Choices 23July2021
Am looking at your seq uences for the threadle wraps.
Helen
PS I see that I am using my close hand rather than my outside hand to cue the threadle wrap….old habits die hard.-

ParticipantHi,
WE practiced wraps in silvia’s Extreme foundations course a few years ago. Our cue is Back-Back. I am now trying to doit with the outside hand instead of the inside hand. I am looking forward to learning how to train the slice from this inside position.
Lst Friday, during our UKI Trial, Mary Ellen Beerry had designed the SEnior/champ agility course such that I was going to use Back-Back in about 3 different places, but I think that they were all just u-turns. Do you distinguish verbally between the u-turn and the full circle?Inside Wrap 2July2021

ParticipantHi, tracy,
HOpe that you have survived your travels. Here is Nuptse’s touching the mat. This is cvery similar to his hitting the mat for running contacts.
Do I care whether he hits with his front feet or back feet?

ParticipantHi, Tracy,
Thank you for your critique. I left out info from the weekend! Guess that I was anxious to post the essentials yesterday.
So, Sat afternoon after our runs, I asked Amanda how to fade the FEO start at the start line with the running out to get treats after our tricks entry. She suggested that I do the Tricks entry before we entered the ring and go back to get treats. Then go into the ring, set up and go. So I practiced that that afternoon after the trial. It went well.
The next day, we began with Gamblers. We did the pre-entry tricks and treats. Then proceeded to the start line for our short fun run in a loop of 5 jumps. Amanda thought that it was a great success and perfectly executed! (I was building towards the 2 pairs runs.) And low & behold the Pairs run were set up such that the start jump for each side was near the entry gate! WE definitely could perform our pre-entry ritual before entering for real.
Then our 4th run and final run for us for the day was the GP run. (That is easier than standard so thought that would be a good one to try.) The following video compares Friday’s no-run with this GP no-run. I think that he was becoming less interested in running. He was acting distracted. It was the end of his 2nd day after only running 2 days in mid May and before that Feb 2020.Comparing 2 No Runs 16 & 17 July2021
Note, we began this journey of not being happy at the start line and walking in the ring several years ago. We have had many successful runs, but then there have been the others that have been executed with no enthusiasm.

ParticipantHi,
Even though I bothced up Seq #3 7 ways to Sunday, practicing the verbals really helped me this weekend. I see now why you have been emphasizing verbals. With the obstacles so far apart as they were this weekend, I used several verbal directionals. It paid off bigtime!!! (Except for where I said “Brake” after he had excited the tunnel!!!

ParticipantH, Tracy,
The UKI Trial on Friday was a good exercise! Via FEO, We practiced our walking to the SL doing tricks. The camera footage on this part is dearly lacking! On the 3rd run, I went for real. It was the Senior/Champ Standard run. Because we did not do our walking in performing tricks followed by exiting for treats, I thought that Nuptse was rebelling and did not want to run.
On the 4th run (FEO), all went well. I did not ever run a full course.UKI FEO 16July2021
On the 2nd run, you can see how rattled I was to call “brake” after Nuptse had excited the tunnel! On that same run, he made an awesome soft side entry into the WPs! Even the judge had to comment!

ParticipantHi,
Here is our SEq 3. What a lot of verbals!! Geting the “L” Blind Cross at 2 took a little bit of practice. And now I realize that becasue N sees #2 before jumping #1, I can BC#2 early! This was a wonderful exercise in uusing our verbals!Pkg #2 Seq #3 14July2021

ParticipantHi, Tract,
Unfortunately, today was hot. Nuptse was not as fast as yesterday, but I did get to see him speed up at the exit of the #5 tunnel, because I was ahead. Good on y ou!Pkg #2 Seq #2 14July2021

ParticipantHi, Tracy,
Your comments for Seq #1 were great! Tried to enact acceleration out of N’s turning in this Seq #2.The start of the first clip is taken up with a CAT across the street. Finally, I realized that I could use the Accllimation behavior and it worked!!!!

ParticipantHI, Tracy,
ON the first run, We had an off course into the Arborvitaae trees just before the #3 Tunnel! From there, I didn’t call out “Tac Tac Tac for the 11 to Tunnel sharp turn.
I forgot to work on small sequences before going to the full sequence again. So the 2nd clip is of our 2nd and final attaempt at the first seq. I managed to avoid the off course into the Arborvitae trees and was late in calling “tac tac tac” on #11.2nd Packet 1st Seq 12July2021

ParticipantHi, Tracy,
Had a great chuckle this morning while reading your comment about no one noticing us! Yeah, people were focused! I could have robbed a bank under their noses!More work with cues while moving. “close” is more difficult for Nuptse to come into my side while we are moving, but actually on the agility course it is more suitable for Nuptse to be more distant. While running a course, “Close” is for changing his path to move towards me but not hug me!
