    Hi, Tracy,

Went to the Regionals. It was only a 2 ring affair!….very crowded. It is the soccor field where there is usually just 1 ring set up for the Grand Prix Finals, etc. Tossing treats on the ground was a piece of cake for N. The walking and “turn” was not always perfect. It was the same as in previous videos….some perfect, some a head turn followed by a perfect turn. later on after the following clips in the video,
we could walk up to the practice jump, do 1 trick or jump and explode back to the treats on the ground. It got to the point where I thought that we had better stop that habit before he thinks that is how a trial run should go!

It was so worth it to go today! thank you for encouraging me.

    Hi, Tracy,
Onward with cues in motion while walking into the ring. This is an extremely weak part of our ring work! I can see now that if we can get some of these simple tricks on cue w/o treats while walking up to the start line, we will be in a much better place for running the course! Yah Hoo, at last, I can see the light!!!! It was raining out so decided to try walking intothe ring indoors:

    Hi,
Thank you for your suggestions at the Regionals. Along the way, I need to make going into the ring more fun and helping him to not get stressed out. As far as tricks and treats go before a run, that is fine. As far as running to get our special treats at our crate after a run, that is well understood and dynamic and fun.
I try to practice a lot with out treats on me so that we can do tricks in the ring. Sometimes, he can do tricks in the ring, eg, “Kazoom!”, where he jumps up in front of me.
Perhaps, this fact finding mission at the Regionals will help me to know which tricks will be easy for him to do as we walk up to the start line!!!

And PS! We are going to a UKI trial at Amanda Shyne’s a week from tomorrow and then the next day a
USDAA Trial at Amanda’s..all outside. Nuptse is pretty happy there!

    Hi, Tracy,
Will take you up on your suggestion to practice at the Regional. Had a feeling that you were familiar with the location. So getting down to brass tacks, I began to think about what we are going to do there.
Need your suggestions based upon our current way of waiting around near the start Line. Here is a rough example of our set up and how we wait starting approximately 5 dogs away from our turn:

After our runs, we do high fives and then run to our crate for special treats

    Hi,
The Regionals are this coming weekend at the Wide world of Indoor sports in Kingstown, RI. do not relish going there to practice ringside transitioning…to stressful! Am planning to go to Kim’s next Tuesday to work while other dogs are working.

Went to the cemetary today to work Up & down….very distracting place! changed up to hi-value treats….what a difference!

    Hi, Tracy,
Nuptse understands the Road show from many times working on his paying attention with distractions. So, This was much easier than our previous training because he could absorb the environment and not have to go into his crate if he absorbed the environment for too long!
Here’s our video on “Down” & “Turn”.

    Hi, Tracy,
Here’s our Up & Down Game on the road. It was too boring at home.
Went to a mildly boring area, then Walamart’s, then Home Depot area.
The first clip is of the mildly boring area and then the Hm Dep area, which is more distracting.
I kept forgetting about not praising!

    Hi, Tracy,
Here is our first attempt at your SL game of exiting house on leash and tricks. With smoked salmon treats Nuptse very much was interested and enthousiastic!

    Hi, tracy,
thanks for your suggestios and I didn’t see the confusion with the verbal “Jump”!!!
So between you, me and Nuptse, we have created our trick to move towards the start line. I just need to keep working on it. It is very fun and will put us both into hysterics hopefully!

    HI, Tracy,
The SL is an important area for us to pursue during this Camp. You suggested some games.
Would love to know your suggestions. Nuptse usually is not able to tug at the SL. He IS distracted

and/or is a little stressed in the ring.

The following video was run when Nuptse was fired up about the environment; thus, low value treats did not cut it. Have to move to cut up chicken to entice him to work with me. Hewas still distracted such that he got caught in a loop of jumping!

    Good Morning, Tracy!

thanks for your thots on N’s WP attitude. In summer of 2018 did a 6 week project of learning tolove the WPs. It essentially worked. On the whole, Brittanys have a r eputation to not liking to do the WPs in the beginning of a Trial run, but are happy to do them towards the end of the run. We squashed that idea with Nuptse. He could do them any where in a trial run after finishing that project. Here’s towards the beginning of the project:

Here is now with the MM:

Note: when Nuptse is stressed, he will show it in the WPs.

    Hi, Tracy,
Not too thrilled with my performance here I should have treat Nuptse in the Last clip when he did the WPs! For some reason, Nuptse does not like the WPs, Do you have an idea?
