ParticipantH, Tracy,
Thanks for all your inputs.
The leash work is so important for Nuptse. He doesn’t like me to lead out. If I do, he hesitates to leave his sit and then he goes slowly.Leash to jump & Tug 24June2021

ParticipantHi, Tracy,
“Still trying after all these years!” At least that is what it seems like. Nuptse seems to be stuck. He cannot just run to the end all the time. Should I just begin to put some lateral distance into this training? I am flummoxed!
Thank you for your thoughts,Teeter & End & Toy 25May2021

ParticipantHi, Tracy,
Want to add some handler distance both forward and/or laterally to Nuptse’s Teeter target position.
Playing today, I put some cheese on the target location for 2 times, which seemed to help the last 2 times w/o cheese. I also think that if I can rev Nuptse up with the toy first, then he will have more confidence to go to the end while I either run ahead or run laterally to him. What do you think? Here is today’s performance:

ParticipantHi, Tracy,
Thank you for your comments.
But I am confused about the track “train the teeter”. What should I be doing w/r to the teeter training now at home?
Am excited about your suggestions for getting Nuptse more confident.Helen

ParticipantThank you, Tracy, for your analysis. At the moment, his favorite runs are those with the contacts! Usually, he is not such a great fan of jumps and tunnel set ups, although Jumpers was our best run this weekend and it was our first run. Anyway, I know that you have nailed Nuptse’s attitude, ie, that he is not comfortable nor confident in the trial situation and that I need to help him to love trialing. Also, he is much happier outside where the distractions are much more exciting! That was my plan for 2020 to run outside trials as much as possible. So will work on playing in trials for awhile.
Nuptse and I have loved this class! thank you heaps for it. Am looking forward to your Camp.Helen & Nuptse
PS here is Nuptse’s Jumpers run. I used much of your Lines, Lines, Lines SEminar and Blazing Blinds Seminar info, although I was still late! Nuptse was not super fast but ok fast.2021 05 14 Nuptse Masters & P3 Jumpers

ParticipantHi, Tracy,
Thank you so much for all your instructions as to how to work the teeter at the trial! I tried to follow them. Was not always successful, but this exercise of running FEO and working the teeter seemed like a great semi final exam! It is very clear that my location is paramount to Nuptse’s finishing location on the board, as you have been alluding to thru out this training.
How does Nu[ptse learn to love the END of the board???
And following that Q, he needs to be comfortble at the end of the board no matter where I am!
How to do all this without many repetitions on the teeter or do I put some sort of invisible cushioning under the teeter?
NB replaced my video of Sat’s FEOs with Bill Young’s videos. Here is DAy #1. The next day follows in the next post.

ParticipantGood Morning, Tracy!
On the first run, Nuptse practically slipped off the teeter! He then learned to slow down for the following times on the teeter. I finally was able to stay with him on the full teeter after the fi rst time of getting too far ahead.

Do you have any more suggestions for our Trial tuns. They begin Friday: jumpers to snooker to standard and then Gamblers. On Sat, we have Miscillaneous first followed by 2 events and then Pairs for both sides of the course. If all is going well, I thought that I would let Nuptse do the full teeter in Pairs if it is there.

ParticipantHi, Tracy,
Thank you for your thoughts on Saturday’s performance.
I have trouble staying with Nuptse on the full teeter…muscle memory.
This sequencing with the teeter is an entirely new chapter!!! There is so much to train, but what is difficult is that we should not run the dogs over the full teeter too much vs practicing Running contacts with the DW.

ParticipantHi, Tracy,
This hour rental was worth its weight in gold! Both Nuptse and I got our feet wet again. working with a mask on also presented its problems to solve. I feel like Nuptse is very comfortable with this AK9C Teeter now.
As you can see, I forgot to remove my apron until late in the hour.Elevator No Target 8May2021
