ParticipantYippee we were able to get to AG field and even do something there!
That was almost 7PM, 76F and sun still out.I thought it is hot for him but when we started ‘lazy game’, he was actually pretty happy doing it! I like how he speeds up on 2nd or to 3rd jump!
When he didn’t take the jump, I think I increased distance too much, or turned too soon? (Distance between me and jump, not distance between jumps – distance between jumps I didn’t change in this session)
Teeter – that’s where we are.
2nd rep. OUCH! This is first time ever it happened, and I’m glad it didn’t scare him!! And this is why he would not be doing dog-walk! Those types of mis-steps on dog-walk can be dramatic with dog of his size and weight
– there is 1 jump before teeter in some reps; I know you can’t see it on the video.
-we were at the field for a whole long 15 mins total. It makes perfect sense, right – to drive half hour (each way) for 15 mins there, and him actually doing anything for maybe 6 mins the most 🙂

Participantthank you!
few questions
Hopefully the weather will be nicer tomorrow and we can get to AG field. When there, what would be a good spacing between jumps on ‘lazy game’ to start with, and to increase distance to if ‘all goes well’?
and another question – on our AG field, footing is sand with something 🙁 So I can’t throw treats – it gets covered with sand. I typically use ‘lotus ball’ there but with that, it ‘breaks the flow’ – if I reward after 2nd jump then I need to get there, get the toy from him (maybe help to open it first LOL) etc. Suggestions how to do this game there?
>> Do you have agility tables?
yes we do (at AG place), and that’s how we started with teeter! I can also lower the teeter there, it’s adjustable. So put teeter on 2 tables and do the same as game describes? Or maybe I’ll video him doing teeter tomorrow so you can see if we need it?irinam1
Participantok here is our first video. I hope I’m doing it right – let me know if I’m not!
Concept Transfer- The Lazy Game.
on video I think in posting guidelines it says to post
-first 2
-last 2
-2 at the middleI’m posting in order how it was done, first 2, middle 2 and last 2. I’m posting middle where I increased the distance between jumps – and I think I increased it too much at once… But he figured out
I just LOVE this game LOL because *I* don’t have to move much!
few other notes/question:
our weather… ugh HOT. And he is ‘melting’ when it’s just 70 but full sun. So we can’t get to Agility field; and space you see on this video, is ‘all’ space I have at home. (at home we can do late evenings and also he goes in and out of the pool so he is ‘nice and WET’ 🙂 Hopefully it will cool down here so we can do not only ‘small space’ versionsOne-Step Sends and Exit Line Connection
-tunnels. I do have 10-feet 26 inches wide tunnel and can set it up but I want to still minimize use of tunnels. He does those and even longer 24-inches! But… he is TALL. Since you know Bumble, for reference – he is about 4 inches taller than she is 🙂
so for this game, would it make much difference if we do 1-2 reps with tunnel and rest using wing instead?Contacts Foundation: Plank Confidence 1
he will NOT be doing dog-walk, I know he CAN but I know the risk of mis-step and him falling is too big. So we won’t be running STD – we still can do JWW, T2B and Fast.
with that, do we need this game? Or it’s mainly for dog-walk?Teeter Games 1: The Mountain Climber
hehe 🙂 I don’t think it’s for us 🙂 Maybe there will be other games later than we can do.
-he does full-size teeter but he stops/slows down at the middle. But maybe it’s not bad. What I know we don’t have with teeter – sending to it, lateral distance, me ‘crossing’ before and after.irinam1
ParticipantTabitha is the one who highly recommended you 🙂
Her Bumble is fantastic. “We want to be like her when we grow up” LOL -
