ParticipantAfter the wrap verbal game, we tried the smiley face game – this was more fun for her, and she was less distracted. We had some major disconnection when I attempted a reverse spin. And, though I was trying to keep my hands back, I see them creeping forward sometimes – I need a hand slapper!!

ParticipantHere is our attempt at the pre-game – proofing wrap verbals. We did this at the weekend, after the incident with the hot-air balloon – and she seemed very distracted – also didn’t help that my other dogs were barking – but she’s used to that, and usually ignores it. Looking at the video, I feel that I should have stopped as soon as she was getting distracted – do you agree?

ParticipantThen we did the Wrap proofing game – she needed some help at the beginning, but seemed to pick it up. When I switched to the other side, though, she seemed less focused – so we finished there – to be continued.

ParticipantNext we did the Wind in Yer Hair game – I didn’t have time to review the videos again, and I forgot that we were supposed to be running a parallel path, but I think we didn’t do too badly! – took me a long time to get the toy back from her, so I edited those parts out – any tips for teaching toy return welcomed – she brings toys back to me inside, but not outside when she really excited š

ParticipantTracy – question for you about verbals – related to the Minny Pinnie game and wraps. Do you have separate verbals for L and R wraps (180 Or more), L and R jumps with loose turns (as in the Minny Pinnie foundation), and L and R turns on the flat?
I have never taught L and R turns before (except for the āspinā trick) – but am just now trying to teach Matrix ādig/checkā for L and R wraps – but the poor dog is totally confused – I think b/c I didnāt teach it to him as a pup – so now I want to try to get it right with Yowza – but I think Iām going to have to make sure I have decided on all my verbal cues before I start!
I am back from NY – but I donāt think Iām going to have time today to post videos – weāre going to work on Weeks 7 and 8 Anyway though.Juliet Weissberg
ParticipantHi Tracy – I have just signed up for the next Max pup session – very excited about continuing. Could you let me know when the current session finishes? – I am taking a trip back to New York for a couple of weeks, so probably wonāt be able to do much training – so might be too late when I get back š – but weāll try to catch up before the next session starts…..

ParticipantWe had fun doing Rocking Horses Pt 2, with spins. Looking at the video, I think I should have rotated more quickly for the spins – I was busy watching her go around the barrels…

ParticipantAdding a verbal to tunnel threadles – Wk 6 – my verbal for this is “close” – not sure if we were doing this correctly – but thank you for clarifying what a tunnel threadle is – I guess it will look more like a threadle to me when the tunnel is curved!

ParticipantWeek 6 – adding motion to serpentines.

ParticipantHere is our attempt at getting the tight head turns, as foundation for backside wraps. We started with a single stanchion, then moved on to barrel and wing (but I didn’t get those on video). Then I tried more movement with the barrel.

Participant`Tracy- excuse me if I am being a dummy here, but could you explain exactly what you mean by āthreadle sideā in relation to a tunnel entrance? – is this when the dog has to turn away from you to get the entry?

ParticipantLast we repeated the Rocking Horse game – she LOVES this game! Added a little more distance, and tried to leave earlier.

ParticipantNext we repeated Strike a Pose threadle foundation game. This time I moved over a step, as you suggested, and I tried clicking just before she touched the target, although my timing for that wasn’t great – need some more practice…

ParticipantRepeating Prop Game 4 – this time trying to always use my opposite arm, and keep it low -added a little more lateral distance and speed. We did this on the other side too, but forgot to turn the video on – but it went about the same.

ParticipantHere is our attempt at Prop Game 4 – teaching the verbal “Out” – starting at baby level, at a stand still. Then adding motion….
