ParticipantWe repeated the Rocking Horse game – this time with more distance, and a little more speed. Not sure if I could have left earlier.

ParticipantTurn and Burn – with more distance and speed. I tried to keep both my arms down more, and I hope they were more “relaxed.” Looking at the video, I can see that I could have left even earlier. I think in the last rep I left the earliest.

ParticipantTrying to post Strike a Pose Wk 5 again. Hope I get the right one this time!

ParticipantHere’s our attempt at the threadle version of Strike a Pose. The toy didn’t work, so I tried it with the Manners Minder – not sure if I was doing this right….

ParticipantWe tried Turn & Burn again – this time I was trying to get more of a turn on the FC, so that she moved further round the barrel.
Then we tried the Rocking Horse games – not sure if I looked like a rocking horse though! I thought she did well -would love to hear your opinion.Juliet Weissberg
ParticipantThen we followed your suggestions for Strike a Pose, and I had her come to the hand target, with the reward already in place. I started with an empty bowl and threw the treat into it. Then I placed the treat in the bowl before we started, then I placed a toy for her – had to switch from regular tug toy to toy on a string.

ParticipantIn the above video we didn’t so great when we included the prop as a foot target. After coming in to my hand and doing the turn, she wasn’t seeing the target.

ParticipantHere is our attempt at the lap turn and tandem turn. Not sure if I was doing everything correctly, but I thought Yowza did great!

ParticipantThen we did the Concept Transfer Strike a Pose game pt 2 – for serpentines. I thought this went OK, although she didn’t always hit the target first time. There’s one rep at the end with a toy.

ParticipantWe had fun with the Turn n Burn. I did this holding her collar to start her, but not sure if that was right…..

ParticipantAlso repeated Strike a Pose – not sure if I was focused enough on the target (video in previous post with parallel path).
Then we repeated the Tunnel Game – I only held her collar when I was “revving” her up, but I found it hard to get the toy positioned so that I could grab the string when I threw it from our starting position. this went better when I threw the toy after she had left – then it was easier for me to grab the string. We definitely need to work on toy return – thanks for the tips on that – then we will also work on Strike a Pose with a toy, instead of the treats.

ParticipantRepeated the parallel path game – this time throwing the treat earlier and further to encourage her to look ahead, rather than looking at me. I thought this went well.
then we repeated the Strike a Pose game – I held the target further out, and I was trying to look at the target, rather than at Yowza – however, I think I was only looking at it when she was approaching it – maybe I should have been more focused on it? (i.e. starting to look at when she was further away).

ParticipantTunnel Games – here she was very interested in the toy! Not sure if I was handling it exactly right – I forgot my clicker, and my yesses were late most of the time (I think you said click as she’s going in tunnel). And I was hesitant to “rev” her up too much, as she is still very sensitive about my collar “grab” – so I wanted to be careful when I was holding her collar – but she’s definitely getting much better with this (e.g. – I can now use her collar, instead of the harness). Also – if you have any tips for teaching her to bring the toy back to me, they would be much appreciated! – she’ll do it inside, but not outside – she’ll run toward me if I run away from her, but not all the way in to me.

ParticipantHere is a video of our attempts at Parallel Path commitment with a “jump” and Strike a Pose. I thought she did well with the parallel path – I was trying to go slow, but I don’t think I was sauntering….
I thought she did OK with the Strike a Pose with the treats, though I’m not sure if I was doing it exactly right. We didn’t do so well with the toy, as she seemed more interested in the treats, so I stopped our session there. She may be more enthusiastic about a toy if I throw it, but she does not yet bring it back to me, and I wasn’t coordinated enough to use the toy in a string.

ParticipantHere’s our second attempt at start line stays – adding a little more distance and duration – trying to throw the treat behind her, but she keeps leaping up to get it….
