ParticipantWe also did the Hind End control – Teeter Foundation exercise on the see-saw – backing up onto the end of the see-saw. She barked at me quite a lot, but she seemed OK with putting her back feet on, once she understood what I wanted.

ParticipantToday we worked on the Concept transfer – Serpentines games. Started with one jump, with moving start – then moved on to 2 jumps, then 3 jumps. I’m sorry I didn’t do them exactly as you described, as was doing from memory, as I forgot my printout – but I thought she did pretty well. I gave her plenty of reinforcement for sit-stays, as the moving releases were good proofing for her – I have edited most of them out. I didn’t have time to do the tunnel serps, but hopefully I can squeeze them into my 30×30 space at home.

ParticipantToday we did a second session of the Straight Lines 4 ways game – this time a litle faster, with jumps further apart. We had difficulty with the rear cross wraps, and also, I think she patterned the “push” as she tended to repeat that (while ignoring my cues) after she had just previously done a push (I think that’s her favorite!).

ParticipantTeeter Foundation – Mountain climber
this was the second time we did this – didn’t get to video the first session, but we started with the teeter lower end on the ground, and she did fine – so this time I did this with the lower end slightly off the ground, as we had been doing other exercises with lower end raised a little. Also, I put her in a down at the top, then at the bottom too – I thought it was a good idea, as I am teaching her to down at end of teeter – have never done the “mountain climbing” exercise before though – so please let me know if you think this isn’t such a good idea.

ParticipantThis video got forgotten – we did this last week – the Wingin It game with one-step sends.

ParticipantYesterday we did the Wingin It games with 4 wings. Yowza had fun!

ParticipantThanks for your feedback on the Starfish game. I looked at your video again, and see that I wasn’t even doing the sequence correctly. I tried it again today – trying to keep better connection with Yowza, and not to pull her away on the tandem turns – I thought we did a little better! – what do you think?
Juliet Weissberg
ParticipantHi Tracy – here is our effort at the Starfish game. Although she did the tandem turns most of the time, they weren’t exactly tight, and sometimes she missed the tunnel, I think b/c I wasn’t connected with her enough. We did the baby level on each side, but then I couldn’t really remember the sequence for the advanced level – so we’ll do that next time, when we repeat the baby level incorporating your feedback.
I am wondering how much longer we can post videos…. – am planning to sign up for the next Max Pup course.

ParticipantNext we tried the Lateral Lead out game….

ParticipantYesterday we did the accordion jumping grid. I noticed that she put in a stride between the first and second jumps when I first increased the distance between the second and third jumps. I am interested to hear your feedback on this, as I’m not sure how her jumping should look, and if maybe I should have decreased the distance.

ParticipantWe repeated the Get-out game – this time adding more distance, and then I added in a blind cross and a front cross. We only did each once, as she seemed to be getting tired at this point.

ParticipantI repeated the Strike a Pose serps and threadles proofing game again – this time on the other side. We had some trouble just getting the tunnel at the beginning, as she seemed to be focusing in on the tunnel entrance she could see behind me, rather than paying attention to my handling. Then, same with my hand and verbal cues for the threadle option. This was hard for her, so we took a break. She seemed more focused later in the day…..

ParticipantHere is our attempt at the Rocking Horse Turn-away game. We started with just getting the lap turn from a sit-stay. Then after a wrap, and then after a couple of wraps. Then we tried the tandem turn. I thought she did quite well, especially as I usually use a verbal for this type of turn.

ParticipantI repeated the “Get-Out” proofing game – this time on the opposite side, and really making an effort not to help her with physical cues, other than turning the upper body. I thought she did quite well!
