ParticipantI’ve never written any of this down, so I really had to think about this!
Go – take the path in front of you in extension.
Turns:
DW/A-frame specific – Le, soft left
Ra, soft right
Right/Left, turns greater than 90 degreeAll other obstacle – Right/Left Can be any degree of turn
Wraps to left , Cik
Wraps to right, Cap
Cik,Cap also used to cue or tighten up a slice.Close, Threadle slices, and come into me for a pull to a backside wrap (flick).
Back side jump, Push
Threadle wrap, Close with Cik or Cap
Out, move away from me laterally/take the obstacle further out as in a discrimination
In, take the closest obstacle as in a discrimination.
I started using Heel and Side for bringing them into me to bypass unwanted obstacles as in a Snooker course.
I try not to use here or come because that’s just what they do and its usually not good!
Name, like you Tracey I use it in more difficult situations where I need their undivided attention.

ParticipantThank you for the great response! Yes, it does make sense but seems difficult for the dog. I’ll pay more attention to my dogs approach and look for any “patter”. He slices quite well, but I’m going to give this grid a try anyway!

ParticipantHi Tracy,
You mentioned a “Zig Zag” drill in Barb’s post. I’ve never seen this drill. I kind of get it in context with the post, but can you explain in a little more detail what this exercise is teaching the dog, and what one should work towards with this exercise?Thank you,
Janet
