ParticipantPop outs with Puddin’
She did really well here. Two and mostly done. I didn’t foresee that off course on the second one so I didn’t anticipate handling the turn.

ParticipantAhh I love the screen shots. These are super helpful! I do feel like working with someone in the moment to fix my sloppy handling really needs to happen because it’s just these minor tweaks that are causing the issues.
I’m having a hard time with Sahweet balancing RUNNING FOR MY LIFE BECAUSE SHES FAST AS FUCK versus slowing down and using decel to handle. She has amazing verbals but my body does often override because I’m flailing. When you mention demanding a turn, what would that look like? Because I feel like when I try for bigger collection, I usually end of stuck in a spot and can’t get to where I need to be next. Thanks for pointing out protecting Puddin’s confidence. She’s amazing but I don’t want to push her too hard because I want her to stay fast. I’m really having to hold off on entering all the things to just keep working the fun. I haven’t done a ton of backside work with her because I feel like I did too much with Fever and we got stuck in the world of flanking for a year or more 😂.
Also re the 3/4 1/4 mongrel. I’m totally sold on the part whippet breeds. She’s so snuggly. Her ability to hear her words and listen at speed is incredible. Her sister is like that too. They are just cool dogs who want to lay with you all day and then jump things. She did great and she’s starting to sequence so well. I’ll have her while Courtney is at EO so she will likely join in again. But running dog walk has also been my summer assignment 🥴😂

ParticipantPackage 2 pop outs (2-4)
So we mirrored these and they don’t look exactly as prescribed but my course design was wonderful 😂
Sahweet hadn’t trained all week because of rain and heat advisories so we were extra twitchy. You can see us sorting out the first jump. Also guest appearance by Cool Whip.
Sorry it’s all one video. Let me know if you want me to split them next time.

ParticipantJumping 1
That threadle at 7 was kicking our butt. She was the first to go and was build crash test dummy. I did adjust the lines some because they were really challenging.
I bumped her up to 24 over the weekend because we will run that for the USDAA regional. I think that combined with the grass is causing the bars. Hopefully it’s mowed soon because it’s hard for me to run in, I can’t imagine trying to push off for jumping.
Baby Puddin liked this course too. We went until the weaves.

ParticipantShe gets much higher in training than she does in the ring. That could because I manage her arousal a lot around the agility ring. She gets really excited to watch. But really just life excites her and everything is the best, so it doesn’t take much 😂.
Jamie Juckett
ParticipantOh I should also add that their verbals are completely different than Fever’s… so that’s fun but I’ve finally got a hang on it 😂. Wifey requested that we speak the same language which is fair 😂

ParticipantDig dig is a 180° cue.
We tend to have a good amount of bars in practice. Thankfully it’s not carrying over into the ring. I think a lot of it is me but some of it is arousal related. They tend to be less when we have had more than one turn. It tends to be the first bar. The others are usually me in her space and her trying to save a turn for me.I do better with the full out running on regular courses but the small courses I get stuck in the between because I feel like I get out of her way, so I’m glad I’ll have plenty of practice with small space stuff.

ParticipantWe had such a blast with camp even though we couldn’t do much because of the heat. The contrast in him and I from the previous two years to this one is amazing.
Really enjoyed this standard course!

ParticipantJumping package 2
I felt more like a chaos coordinator than a handler here. That layer was much harder than I anticipated
We finally got it with some back chaining and my outside hand. I will work on being better with it.
I was able to run the whole thing without the layer with Callie but layering with him would be my preference. I ended up not being where I wanted to be quite a few times resulting in screams 😂
He was working hard here and my reinforcement was lacking.

ParticipantWe took the weekend off! We attempted jumping package 2
It was miserably hot. We tried to go in the morning and beat the heat
Spoiler alert: we didn’t beat the heatHe was a bit sniffy but turns out he needed to 💩 during our second turn.
I was really stumped for the turn the wrong way out of the weaves I got twice. The back layer was so lovely. I think we ran out of steam towards the end but he kept going to the backside. Idk if my efforts to cue collection were sending him?
Jamie Juckett
ParticipantHere’s some jumpers runs. I think that open jumpers is just a particularly awkward class to be in. It’s not really a level we train at. Although there is one USDAA run here. I do feel like my handling in practice and in trials doesn’t look the same and contributed.
I shaved his chest and he seems much happier in the heat. I’m tempted to take off a bit more but this seems like a good start.
“Look” is my threadle slice verbal.
Jamie Juckett
ParticipantThis heat is kicking my butt. I’m so behind with no heat relief in sight 😭.
We skipped to package 5 pop outs because it mostly for what Carrie already had set up.
He looks super good here. I probably over handled that backside threadle 2-3 for the first sequenceWe played AKC over the weekend. He gave me 2 practically perfect standard runs. I’m really feeling weak with him in jumpers on bigger lines and achieving turns. I lose him to off course tunnels on longer lines which I can’t easily replicate in small sequences. I’m glad we got to focus on jumping today.

ParticipantWe love pattern games and have has a lot of success reducing stressors with that. I’d love to know more about weave pattern games.
Jamie Juckett
ParticipantI also tried the activate mode on our swit+ before this session. I’m not sure if it helped or success or not but will have to try it again.
Jamie Juckett
ParticipantFor weaves- he’s learned on 2×2 and channels. We took your whole weave class and finished trying to perfect footwork.
I’ve done slightly open channels intermittently ad nauseam with him. We have done wraps on either side for frizzer with speed. It seems to be the putting into sequence that we struggle with.Jumping 2: he ate this coarse and left no crumbs. I was so proud. He took a big spill before the weaves that’s not in frame but stayed working. I’m again in his space. I don’t think we had that area in the back by the tunnel set well because a threadle was not doable. I handled 8 wrong but Carrie and I both flunked tunnel threadle today.
