ParticipantWe did a small channel session. I was one white claw in on this one so it seemed like a good idea.
His speed wasn’t there for me so I didn’t close the channels any. We really didn’t have any failures so I’m not sure why he was lacking in that department- we did have a day of training earlier and he had steak for dinner 🤷♀️ Anyway we will revisit. I made an effort to place extra equipment out of the way.

ParticipantJust a super quick session today. Feels like 92° outside currently. I really really tried to be anywhere but the entry. My perfectionist self doesn’t want to be wrong on this 😭. He had zero failures and I probably could have been even slightly further on the release but I just tend to baby these for some reason. Putting the cone out did help.

ParticipantIt’s helpful if you post the second video you want reviewed. Pro tip y’all.

ParticipantAlright remedial 2×2 🤣
I lost his favorite ball momentarily so we started with a frisbee. I don’t love his head position because he’s looking for the frizzz. Overall pretty successful. I do think I’m still too early with the toy- I felt like I was waiting but the video says otherwise.
Channels- tightened the weaves one fingerbreadth. I also used the frizz here but then FOUND THE FT (that’s favorite toy for short).
Looking like rain for the next two days 😭

ParticipantI didn’t love this session. We had too much failure. I’m still trying to find the sweet spot with speed and the straight entries. I think I keep hurting us in rewarding the wrong thing- there was one where he missed the straight entry that I had to watch the video a few times to see that he missed it because he got close to the poles and collected. It’s also so hard for me not to work these every day because more reps equals faster results… right?! That’s how training works 🤣. I also think I’m still throwing my toy too early.
I will say, his resilience is much better than it had been in the past. He’s working so damn hard for me and is happy the whole time.Jamie Juckett
ParticipantI’m back! My yard is the driest it’s been in 6 days. It was a long, rainy, sad 6 days but we have some cool weather and a few days without rain.
We tried just the one set of straight 2×2 and he was killing it. I got cocky at the last rep and tried to add the second set perpendicular- we failed and stopped there. I will get some more reps of just the first set straight. His collection looked great. I was overall very happy. Since straight entries seem to be the problem child, should I just keep working those or add the other angles in the find em game?We are just playing with the channels too. I need to get all 12 up again, unfortunately it was still too wet towards the back of the yard
My running could have been faster but I had chacos on and mud has a very low coefficient of friction.

ParticipantThey are forecasting rain for the next 4 days so we did a session today. I’m not sure if we will get any more in until the weekend. 🙃
I tried the same pole configuration and added the cone for straight approaches. He does just fine with me walking but any pace further than that will get a failure. He stayed happy and motivated- and not overly bitey 🎉
I also tried the find em with the channels. I could really see him working to find the weaves because the wings looked mighty inviting- he was listening great. Bonus footage of more grass rolling. https://youtu.be/MdnZyNpGh-o

ParticipantNice work here! Go get your tighty whities in shape! And I really hope you know what tighty whities are and it is not just a Northeast thing hahaha!
Ha! I have heard that expression. I can also tell you that the Cajun French word for underwear is conson.

ParticipantStep 8
So the straight entrance is a challenge for him. He can do all the fancy angles but straight is hard. I’ll be honest, it’s my least favorite entry, it’s not sexy like the other entries. What would you advise here to help him be successful. My guess it’s probably not incorrectly throwing your toy for the wrong behavior… twice oops.Overall his speed looks pretty good even with a few failures. I do feel like his head is popping up some anticipating the reward. It could also be because the second poles are open and he’s not having to bend his body as much?
Jamie Juckett
ParticipantAnd what was he doing at the very end? Rolling in dirt? LOL!
He gets a ton of joy from rolling on/in stuff- carpet, grass, water.. he was so happy after weaves that he was rolling.

ParticipantWe played find them with the poles still slightly angled. My yard is a little damp here as it STORMED this morning but it’s also about to be hot and rainy for the next 2-3 days so I wanted to get this in. I feel like his run by the weaves is a good representation of what happens when we add weaves in sequences so I’m really glad we have this exercise to continue to work with. I did the first session- had a little failure with the 12 o’clock wing- adjusted my movement to make it easier. He took a break and came back- I used a frisbee, slightly lower value than his ball, and I felt like I could add more movement back. Toy placement with the frisbee is harder 😅
I have to say, I am so impressed with his head position, footwork, and exits/forward drive with returning to the 2×2. I did all the clock games in his initial training about a year ago and it looks SO MUCH better this go round. I’m very impressed with the progress.

ParticipantAlright’ 2×2 session, I have both at what looks like 1 and 7 to me. I’ll be honest though, I’m a millennial and I feel like we got screwed on the whole clock face thing… everything was digital in school. I should write my congressman. I was happy with his work here. He’s trying really hard and staying motivated and really driving for me. https://youtu.be/v2OZLz-ZVVE
As far as the channels go, I feel like I’m struggling with making the challenges appropriate. I tried to increase difficulty with the 12 and then went back down to 6. I ended up pulling the MM out because he just gets through them so fast. I feel like my mechanics need some cleaning here. I feel like he’s got the clock angles, but when he makes a mistake he starts to question. Crosses I feel like are the next logical step but I should probably keep things at a walking pace- like you pointed out but I still didn’t acknowledge until watching this video after the fact 🤣🤦♀️

ParticipantWell we did a second season later today because I just couldn’t sit still. We tried the 12 channels. The first half was about Fever celebrating his masculinity with a pink frisbee and teal and purple poles 🤣. I probably should have had better shoes on because 12 is much longer than 6.

ParticipantHappy Easter!
We did a little session. I hole your travels went wellJamie Juckett
ParticipantThursday’s are for weaving! We did a bit longer session than normal because we got a cool front and it was too lovely to pass up. I started with 1 and 7 and 2 and 8 for the second. For the second session I closed them a little more.
We also revisited the channels. This was after we had a swim in the bird bath and got all muddy. Then had a hose off with time to contemplate our decisions They are all the way open- you commented last time about opening them more. I checked and that’s as far as they go.
