ParticipantRunning Contacts Foundation. This is baby level interacting with the mat. And…I guess this is Drive to….also. She picked up on this pretty quick with all our target work. This went really good! Played in between. She likes this.

ParticipantLadder video. A bit of Luring is okay to get her to trot. Yea. I did not want her to get in the habit of running through. Hmmm…wasn’t going to tell you but my Trainer had her doing it a wk ago and she let her run through and skip bars, take two bars at a time. Had the buckets on each end. I didn’t think it was right but I didn’t say anything. Yea, I thought it was more about foot placement and trotting. Toss a treat out from the ladder. Ooo…yea. that was the problem. I was never ready going back. And then she went ahead of me. That will help. How big will she get? Hmmm…I don’t think she is going to get too much bigger. She will be 7 months on the 5th. Her mom is about her size now but her dad is big. She has slowed down gaining weight. Maybe a little bigger? Oh, I can take the legs off and then flip it over and it will be a little higher resting on the “T’s” I’ll do that. Thanks!

ParticipantOkay last one. Tunnel games Advanced increased angles. This went pretty good too. She likes the tunnel!! Added the verbals. And I think I clicked the entrance most of the time. She was excited she wanted the toy. At 1.38 she wanted to go get the toy. Kind of backed off the tunnel. And a couple other times. At 2.32 I started throwing the toy. That actually worked better. Then she could see the movement of it. Can’t remember if you do that in the video. Ha,ha. This was fun. Wow I love my puppy. 🙂 Oh at .52 I fall. I was going to edit it out but I got lazy. LOL. Got tangled in the line or something. lol. Nothing was hurt but my pride. 😉 Hmm…still need to do the threadle one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ug41gqCEerY

ParticipantTunnel Games Baby level. Sorry to bombard you with 3 video’s, but I had a list of the ones I need to do at Bonnies and can’t do at home. Tunnel games!! Yea she likes this. This is the baby level with the treat trainer. She likes that. I’m trying to let her offer the behavior and she has no trouble with that! lol. At 1.29 she goes back through. So I try to being her out and around after that. Hmm….now I see it says play sometimes. Forgot to do that. I’m bad at reading my directions. Sorry about Sport barking. She thinks she owns the place. I took her out after that. She’s retired but I let her come along and run through some tunnels and low jumps sometimes. LOL. She’ll never change. 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGmWWK-w63E

ParticipantLets see….here is, Balance in Motion with the ladder. Hmmm…not too bad….sometimes she gets ahead of me and sometimes I think I am luring too much. But then I remembered to drop the cookie in the ladder. That worked a lot better. Dang I need to watch the video again. Sometimes I am just clicking randomly. I think I am trying to click when she is doing straight ahead for the cookie. Oh and at the beginning till half way through I am trying to start her in the middle. Trying to get the trot/walk more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcwbPwd9Jqk

ParticipantRetrieve. Yea. I’ll try a different toy. It wasn’t that she wasn’t trying….lol. Yea….sometimes she wants the treat over the toy. Hmm….sometimes I think it depends on the treat too. HIgh value she likes over toys sometimes. Maybe I need to use low value. Boring kibble of something sometimes. But yea. Like you said. Get her in the grove more. She does need that. Thanks! I’ll try this more.

ParticipantRetrieve games, intermediate. I thought she would rock this. But not too great. I think I need to play around with different toys. Maybe some smaller fluffy ones she likes. She kinda wants my treats too. Finally get a good one at 1.26. THen I tried another toy, then I went back to the squirrel and she kept stepping on it when she wanted to pick it up. Yea. I’ll try different toys. Hmm…maybe a ball. Tomorrow I go to Bonnies so I can do the tunnel stuff. Oh yea. She has a ladder too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VED5iSBp_jE

ParticipantHamha! Yea she did it as a double jump. I think I was like, “Wow, she’s little but I think I need my legs wider.” lol. Reward her with a treat farther behind my leg. Got it. Yea it’s hard to do it with two. Cookie toss farther away. Got it. Oh Bonnie has a ladder. I will do that there too.
Stays. Add in more tugging. Got it. Yea she likes that. Line her up at my side. Yea. That’s hard. She swings around now. My Obedience should…. help with that. That way I can walk out in stead of backing up. Makes sense. I’ll try it now. NOw that the start line stay is going better. I think I can do the “strike a pose” better over the jump too. It was hard with out the sit stay.
Yay!!! I took a toy to obedience this last wk.!! I forgot the first wk. But this wk I was in the car and thought. Hmm….I took a toy when I had these classes with Sport and Jedi. So when the instructor said, “Okay love them up, praise the heck out of them for a few minutes.” I used her toy! Yea. She loved it. And got to have some fun. I think she thinks obedience is boring. LOL! I was the only one with a toy. But I didn’t care. 🙂 Yea. It’s the right thing to do. 🙂

ParticipantAnd I’m so…Happy! Been working on this. Getting much better to get the stay. I still do the “Catch”. I think that really helps to mix them in. And then the stay and the ‘Break”. I moved smoother and not so twitchy like you said. Because then she is twitchy. Yea. Big difference. She did start Basic Obedience class last wk. And now this week we had the sit stays. So I think that will help too. Sweet! I think it can only get better. 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBeW47J2kwo

ParticipantOoops! Forgot the Leg bump video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4E5v5Nsd2So

ParticipantHere is the Balance in motion. Leg bumps. I skipped the tunnel one for now. I got it all ready to go. I will do it at Bonnies. Hmm….I do…have a smaller cloth tunnel I could use in the basement. But those are hard to secure down. Real floppy. She goes though tunnels at Bonnies and she is pretty speedy. I want to keep it that way. LOL. I’ll think about using the smaller cloth one. SWo here is the Leg bumps. Wee!! She liked this! I kinda did a version on this when she was little. But not the curve. Ha,ha! She wasn’t crazy about it when I would hold her back on my hip. She’s like….”WTH?” Fun!
Joni Steinbach
ParticipantHold it farther aawy. Make it more obvious. Got it. She is used to getting treats for this. Yes!That’s it! Never would have thought of that. lol. Okay make it a little more obvious again. Yea I have a treat trainer. Hmmm…how would I use that with the serp?? Where do I put it?
Retrieves. Yes Ruby has not much of a recall outside. She acts like she is deaf sometimes. Usually when she is out there by herself and she is eating rabbit poop or now poopcilles or something. If she goes out with the other dogs and she is hungry, like feeding time, she will…run back in with them. So that’s going pretty good. Okay, do the “go for a run” and keep sending her till she gets bored. (sometimes I do have to be careful if it is icy out) But I will do this. And then just once in awhile do a recall and party. Got it. Otherwise just tell her to go for a run. Got it. Thanks so much!

ParticipantStrike a pose next step, with toy. Sometimes I put her in her sit-stays and sometimes do the cookie toss too. Sit stays are going not too bad. 🙂 And then sometimes I still mark the target. Towards the end I am quiet and they are really good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4bP-KYvvYs
Joni Steinbach
ParticipantOh, reply to your Retrieve reply. Yes she likes to run away with the toy. Her recall is not too good and that is one thing we are working on. Put it on a cue. “go for a run”. Ooo….good idea. Have another toy. “Two toy game.” Okay I have kind of been doing that outside and it is helping. She is the worst outside. I always have her on a long line, plus….inside my nice fence. I throw one toy, have another one and she is coming to that other one. I should add.”Go for a run” to that too. Thanks!!

ParticipantStrike a Pose, thredels and serps. Wew! Bizzy day. 😉 Here is our strike a pose. Ooo.. fun! This went pretty good. Once I got my mechanics right. She knows the nose touch to the target real good. Sometimes she wanted to go for the treat. Sometimes I say “Yes” when she touches the target. Shouldn’t do that because then she is looking for a treat at the target. The last couple ones are really good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkvT1Y2fawI
